Hi I suggest you watch The Miller Fam here on YT. May adoptive son sila na as I can see similar kay zo. Halos nakahiga lang din yung bata and gumamit din ng AFO. Ngayon nakakalakad na and nagsschool na din. Hopefully makakuha ka ng tips from them sa case ni zo.

The AFO is used to prevent “foot drop”. That’s what we use to describe the foot from dropping caused by weakness or paralysis of the muscles involving lifting the front part of the foot. Best of everything good to your son, Alonzo. Make sure he wears it most of the time even if it makes him uncomfortable.

Jana m sorry to say those afos are rigid its called la gillet the joint include will make a constant strechting of T.A. They are rigid and will not help to stand and yo walk ? M sorry to say! The equipment should never be responsible of the results. Instead afo should be flexible proprioceptive contenitive! M sure in those afos the heels are up . The Afos are not made to present fool drop for this with have insert? But the foot tells about the hips postural control! So why do we use afo ankle food orthosis? The want he has are like sky boots can you win a running competition with sky boot? The afos are to give sensation to the foot to promote up ride up in standing. And give the child better hips stability . Sorry to say but doctors knows nothing about ? M amazed to ear you talking that way? Seen we did Nancy hylton for your son those are what is advice le for alonzo and not something that give penalties but promoting functions never touch the TAs. Never do botox to calves ? The body tells were the child has maggiore problems in this case its not the foot? M sorry to have the correct the informations you give to other parents m a consultant and an AFo technician .
I disagree with this it has to be confortable light flexible and provide functional changes and improvement
Incorrect foot dropped need inserts not a rigid articulate Afo and if you look to the foot this brave mam shown its not a dropped foot this will improve nothing
I also argue about the diagnosis dear Jana why you do not go for a consultation to my chief Dra Alexis Reyes one of the best developmental doctor . Telling you about global delay and epilepsy as diagnosis does not mean anything and more tells about more the ignorance of the one consulted? You deserve more specific informations? Therefor the specialist should collect all symptoms with tell you about specific syndrome which tells you about what to do in therapy and home management. BE CRITiCAL if no change look for changes especially for therapy be specific. Now who prescript the AFOs for your son ? Sorry to be a joy killer thats not what he needs. At that age most have dropped feet! The problem is not the feet? So keep your child a lot vertical show how he stands? Does he has week positive support or astasia abasia (collapsing) put him back against your chest (hold him over his arms) hold his legs to straighten him get him feelings and while holding him this way get his feet down ? Make a picture? We tell you next step. Also in your handling i do not see any suggesting from your therapist ask them to teach you proper handling. Avoid too much sitting get him vertical not on the floor in case trip trap chair for sitting and simple stander good luck
