Even though this game is at evo it still feels like such a niche title. I wish it was more popular. You can barely find anything on the game thats not years old on YT. I feel like if the right content creator starts promoting this itll blow up.
If this game got English voice acting and a reboot (like brand new sprites or something), I feel like it might go big. Won’t be for another 3-5 years, but Guilty Gear used to be niche and look at it now. However it’s like not beginner friendly, even for fighting games, (hard combos for the average player for example). Hope this game succeeds, it’s way too cool.

Jeez at least they got two commentators who know the game they're talking about. It always aggravates me when someone doesn't know the game that they're calling. They don't have to have a pro-level game knowledge, but at least they got two who do know somewhat what they're saying.
It's really not, the shield mechanic makes it so you're always fully playing the game and engaging in the mental battle even on defense. UNI is genuinely the only game where being in the corner blocking is _fun._
@@woopi8003 The defensive mechanics are probably the best of any fighting game but the pace is breakneck. It requires a very high skill level to play and your execution/timing has to be a lot better than tekken or sf. The neutral is also good for an anime game but the basically full screen hits into corner carry combos are very punishing for new players.
The crowd disappointed me. And why would he look at his damn phone during a DLC announcement. Come on, the crowd isn't going to care if you don't act like you care.
@@Altares_V I only played this game once when it first dropped and although it vaguely reminds me of Skullgirls, it is very different and the characters are unique in design and style. I personally really am a big fan of Vatista and Nanase as Nanase was the reason I initally was interested in the game when I saw someone playing her in a game store. I can't help but think that Sonicfox would pick this game up and somehow get into the losers finals within 3 months of picking it up.
Their high energy commentators also aren't that good, I can't really stand Cookie's stances on everything but I like Fox, but he isn't ever in their that much. but I think these two are good, they aren't no Justin or Yipes or Steve but nobody can be those legends.
I’m fine with that. We should be focused on the great plays made and the intense battles going instead of commentators screaming like banshees. + this way we actually get to enjoy the GOATED uni ost as well
