Fighting these dudes separately HTNM VD can be annoying enough.. being ML23 and a solid amount of gear on MNK I can handle it but Good Lord these fights lol FFXI always had a knack for the insane.
You aren't kidding. I personally struggle with the battlefield version of those fights too. If anything, I was surprised by how quickly the Master Trial was cleared.

I might be remembering wrong, but iirc there was something about these fights when applicable where you buff your actual party with other people's BRDs and such before entry, since buffs carry in.
FFXI's always had wild fights. Congrats to the team!
Interesting that Master Levels seem to be less pivotal than strategy as well.
I think it's standard practice for a pull attempt to bring a 7th person specifically for this. As someone new to this game, I've found the early clears on all the Master Trials to be absolutely fascinating.
I completely on the mlvl point you bring up. Though, it's looking like this new Master Trial might push a lot of groups to hit max level unless it's hit with a serious nerf.
@@vicenarian340 It's just interesting to see a sub MLvl 40 Rune Fencer is the tank. I mean, the way you hear people talk these days, it's like Run/blu prior to Mlvl 40 is a grave sin of some sort, but then there's one just beating one of the harder fights heh. Though I also seem to remember multiple groups talking about it and beating it on FFXIAH last year.
Just always gotta remember that a bunch of the old salts who theorycraft don't actually get out and do half the stuff they talk about.

Sadly "modern" FFXI endgame is 90% addons and lua scripts.
Why's that "sad"? The add-ons players have created have improved the game greatly.
