      You clearly haven't read anything by Dr William Lane Craig, then, and his critique of islam.
      How deficient its doctrine of God's justice is. How ineffective its doctrine of salvation is. And how it makes out God to be a liar and deceiver, to have made billions of people think that Jesus actually died on the cross but in fact, it was only made to appear that way.

      The story of the satanic verses is true not only because of the criterion of embarrassment, but mainly because your early scholars affirm that it happened.
      al-Tabari's account is more than enough to demolish any of your objections. Additionally to that, the koran testifies it happened in 22.52.
      Your false prophet bowed down and worshiped satan. You can dance around the fact all you want - it shall remain indisputable.
      I challenge you to post a comprehensive list of ALL your scholars [up until 250 years AH] that rejected the truthfulness of this incident, and necessarily labeled al-Tabari and ibn-Hisham as blasphemers for including it in their writings.

      Well, no. Yasir Quadhi presents it as legitimate, as in "look at these famous scholars who said this was real, I'm not saying it's real, but it could totally be real" which is just one of many things Yasir Quadhi says that are problematic. Anyway, if they are fabricated, and we are certain they are fabricated, that means they don't have any chance of being real. Meaning Yasir Quadhi either spoke of it without knowing that or he deliberately misrepresented the issue for some reason. It's either clearly fabricated or "it may have some truth to it because others believed it before", it cannot be both

    This story if true it actually proves the sincerity of the prophet because why would he not exploit the pagans through verses like these when according to the story they believed in him after the verse ?
    Why would he chose to remain on monotheism when he and his companions would be persecuted ?
    This was to be the peak of his power why would he give that power up for monotheism ?

    Discussing about a particular religion or about any religious figure in a proper manner from reliable sources should have no issues, but making up things just to hurt others is totally different. This person did exactly that and got what he called for. And don't lecture us to become a spineless community where nobody stands up for nothing, where you can walk the road wearing a T-shirt saying "Jesus is g**" when He never was!

    What I don't get is how on earth did a man armed with knife pass the security? And how did attacker post about this on FB when they have an AI that IMMEDIATELY flags posts about Gaza /Hamas or against LGTV, but let this guy post to his heart content. Search Google for Rushdie's location, then arriving at the scene , pass the security with a knife.
    Let's be honest, nobody's heard Salman Rushdie's name perhaps in decades. Onky a few articles about him a few months ago for some reason. He's 75 years of age.The Iranians gov actually made this guy popular. They've done far far worse in term of insulting Quran, the ahadeeth and the sahaba! It's a joke. The endgame is to use this guy as a symbol against Islamic extremism. Nobody's gonna care the assailant who's American citizen, is pro-Iran, pro Solemani & pro-Khomeini. Rushdie could've died died at 76 and be forgotten. But this attack serves the secular liberalists agenda as well as the far rights.

    I think there are 2 issues on these "satanic" verses: a) If there several early sources saying the same thing from the early Muslim era, can we simply dismiss that? b) Just because a later verse says the Prophet could not have fallen victim, so to say, to the 'satans verses', does not automatically mean that the original event did not happen.

    • @sparephone8228
      @sparephone8228 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The satanic verses story is so stupid it's hard to think anyone would take it seriously. The idea satan whispers to a prophet to say something wrong is clearly a Christian type of legend. Isn't there something about Jesus in the wilderness? As as Muslim I do not believe any prophet of God has ever been tempted or controlled by Satan or anything else.

    • @dollishillwork
      @dollishillwork 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sparephone8228 For at least 150 odd years it WAS taken seriously by the early Muslims. It was only after a few hundred years that Muslims realised how very embarrassing this episode was and decided one option (widely followed) is to deny this even happened in the first place. However, documented records exist demonstrating that the episode, however embarrassing, actually happened. Therefore, as mush as you wish, the satanic verses story is not stupid at all. Just embarrassing. People (Muslims) have to accept that.

    • @sparephone8228
      @sparephone8228 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dollishillwork No satanic verse incident took place. The story is so stupid and contradicts all the inner evidence of the Qur'aan. Secondly it just seems as Dr Ali said, someone made up the story for a 'tafseer' commentry for one of the verses of the Qur'aan. Thirdly it does seem it was borrowed from Christian ideas about Jessus[pbuh] in the wilderness [something Muslims do not believe]. As with all these stupid hadiths, an analysis of the links in the chain of narraotors will reveal obvious flaws. Have you not even noticed all the Qur'aan fragments from the first 30 years of Islam have no 'satanic verses'? Hard evidence cannot be contradicted by a story that appears over 100 years lateror when ever it appeared. Another point, satan in Islamic theology is the eternal tempeter, not someone who takes over a person, again Christian mythology of exorcism etc

    • @cowdyayaad6378
      @cowdyayaad6378 ปีที่แล้ว

      a) yes we can dismiss it. the chains are weak or disconnected (it's not coming from witnesses and they might all go back to a single source who spread some rumours and the story developed by many retellings).
      b) the opposite also is not true.
      These verses doesn't match up with the rest of surahs. So it may have not been a part of it. Pretty sure you are just biased so you are trying to push it as true.
