    Thank you. I have brain damage, and things get overwhelming. I did need to pause a few times, but, that's just me. I looked up others' instructions, with no help, but, yours was simple, and straight to the point. Thank you!

    Currently I’m using just the Voice app on my iPad & transcribing by hand. Using Captions will help me immensely when taking our club minutes. I then have to transmit via email a PDF to our newsletter editor that’s using Word. Will replay this video until I get all the steps to do this. Thank you so much for this big timesaver.😊

    Hi Ellen!
    That is pretty neat to see the transcription of the voice memo! Also, as an added benefit to be able to use the Translate app and the Memos app to be able to show someone so they see the printed text as you speak. Thank you Ellen for all the special videos you post. I learn a lot from you. Thanks for your effort and research to put out such detailed and informative videos. Love and Kindness, Teresa

    Interesting. I tried the voice memo demo and it worked. The other suggestions thankfully I don’t need (yet) but these videos are always great to look back on when I get stuck. Question - I notice YT has made the text smaller when I text in this comment box though it appears ‘normal’ size when I push send and it enters your comment section. Have you noticed this too (or have I somehow changed things in settings somewhere ie domino effect - sigh). Great content as always.

    This is great to know. I really appreciate your tips. A question I have is this, is there a way to save the transcribed voice memo? I use the voice memo a lot for conferences so I can go back and review and transcribe myself. But having it transcribed for me is even better and better use of my time. As now I can quickly read through for the points I am looking for. Therefore the reason for wanting to be able to save this transcription.

      @EllensTipsForiOS  หลายเดือนก่อน

      As of now you would need a third party app to save it. Hopefully Apple will add that feature. Thanks so much for watching!

      Take a look at Otter in the App Store.

    • @mindfuloneCOLO
      @mindfuloneCOLO หลายเดือนก่อน

      Otter is a great app that transcribes and creates a text-based transcript. BUT…the basic version restricts both the duration of each transcript as well as the number of transcripts per month and it’s pretty stingy!; the fee-based pro version is not much better; and the business version is really pricey but is really feature-rich. I went with the business version because I have a lot of lengthy calls I want to preserve transcripts for, so I made room in my budget for the business version.

    Ellen, does the Live Cations icon stay on your screen all the time? Also, “Live Captions Listening” stays on my screen. I used the back arrow to make it disappear. Is this correct? Also, I’ve not used the Translation app before. How do you delete your conversation? Thanks, Teresa

    • @EllensTipsForiOS
      @EllensTipsForiOS  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions. Yes the Live Captions icon stays on the screen but will kind of become hidden. Yes the back arrow should stop the listening. Swipe left on the conversation in Translate and the delete option will appear. Hope that helps.

    I have an iPhone 15 running 17.5 beta. Interestingly, I don’t have the Live Captions option. Maybe this is only for US market?

    • @EllensTipsForiOS
      @EllensTipsForiOS  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry Jeff! You are correct. It’s only available on iPhones using US or Canadian English.

      I’m in US and I don’t have it either. She also appears to be running beta.

    • @EllensTipsForiOS
      @EllensTipsForiOS  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Has nothing to do with the Beta. This is from Apple’s site:
      “With Live Captions (beta), spoken dialogue is turned into text and displayed in real time on your iPhone screen. You can more easily follow the audio in any app, such as FaceTime or Podcasts, and in live conversations around you. Live Captions is available on iPhone 11 and later when the primary language is set to English (U.S.) or English (Canada).”
