Great video, I remember George.R.R Martin say in an interview that he had Edward in mind when developing the character of Tywin lannister
I remember something along those lines. Saw his father as weak, so had to rule everything with an iron fist and once he wasn't there to hold everything together....

Thanks for the video; I really think it is a great way to introduce people to this warrior king. Of course, I could ask for more detail but I could also say that about every educational video on TH-cam and this isn’t supposed to be an intensely fine-combed, detailed video (nor does it need to be) so I won’t complain too much. I do think more explanation was needed about the start of the Anglo-French war (1294-1303) as one of the big catalysts of the war was that France occupied Gascony (one of Edward’s most important territories) without provocation although Edward retook it by the end of the war. The video also could have talked more about Wales but overall I highly recommend this video. 👍
Thankyou! Indeed, we also try to keep videos between 12-18min in length as they are introductions to topics. With the English vs French.... I honestly think that might need to be it's own series of videos (once we are making enough to get some decent graphics!).
I know this guy from the age of empires 2 campaigns where you play the scots. He has a cool name.

I vey much enjoyed this segment. 'A Great and Terrible King' as author Marc Morris described him. I would love to know more about King Edward's second wife. Very little is known about her. Thank you for this☺
And perhaps Morris was using terrible in the old sense of the word, when it meant awe inspiring and didn’t necessarily have negative connotations.
