Epic! And Jeah, it’s true. I remember taking a maximum of 5 days off during the 3.5 months I had in Tarifa. You even less. It’s also that you feel guilty for living in „paradise“ and therefore you never allow yourself to stop working. Wich is kind of counterproductive, as it stops being paradise when you don’t even have a weekend or any free time anymore. But well...after all, nothing better than windsurfing every day and that’s why we do it I guess. But next year we should definitely think about a ‚weekend’ here and there.😅
Excellent video, takes me back 30 years to my stay in the Hurricane Hotel in Tarifa - it was the windiest place I’ve sailed, tougher than Hawaii, the Gorge and the other top destinations. Once was enough, and in my sixties now, so sailing Naxos, also very windy, but much safer
Hey Nico, I only started watching recently and have been really enjoying your videos. I live in London so opportunities to windsurf in conditions like this are few and far between. It is always great to see you having a blast on the water and the 'real talk' at the start was a really nice balance of thought-provoking, fun and serious. peace.
Power on. I was just frustrated and reminded myself, that watching your inspirational videos does not count for winter training. But hey, I was on the water, or at least some of the time. That for sure makes up for being stuck at work in my own cave. Again and every time. (I guess, I'm fine with my day job too.) Thank you Nico for pushing. For me,- it helps a lot.
I truly believe people like you are gonna make windsurfing more popular again! Inspiring, honest, humble and cool🤙 keep up the good vibes, everybody needs them!
Love the honesty, many people need to hear this and stop compairing themself with others. Love the action footage and the epic windows shutdown sound at the end, made me smile.
Meine Hochachtung. Super coole ehrliche und hilfreiche Einordnung von Videos. Echt genial. Es werden sich zu viel Menschen an solchen Darstellungen messen und wie du richtig sagst, kann man dann nur verlieren. So habe ich das noch nie betrachtet.
Good on you, Nico! Keep on enjoying/sharing life - in all it’s forms. (Thanks for sharing your windsurfing with us) That’s really what it’s all about : )
For those of us not getting on the water, another great inspirational video from a top spot! Also good to have the “glossy” video and life put into context, particularly important during these difficult COVID times. I think many younger viewers of social media need to understand the context of what they watch (I’m one of your older followers). Well done.
I've been watching your videos for 2 years now, and I can't believe how much I've learned ! Thank you very much Nico you're the best :) cheers from France.
Spent a month there 21 years ago! Am very jealous! After a small break (17yrs) you and a couple of friends have given me the bug again! Totally inspiring ! You never stop being a windsurfer!
Seeing all you guys having fun with windsurfing, I"m thinking this summer to head back on these after over a more than 30 years pause. Now, I keep doing basic daily cardio training since 5 years to gain back a descent healthy life and I think I'd be up to try this again this coming summer. There are still some places renting WS in our Quebec Canada area. I used to have a HUGE 120 liter mistral with a 6.6 as well if I recall. Still have pics somewhere and maybe vidcam shots from the time. Have to dig up. Keep on having fun! Best sporting souvenirs I have personally.
Thank you so much for your speech that was very important to me. We know you are a great windsurfer but know we know that you are also a realy kind boy ! Last saturday the wind was at about 22 knots. I was really afraid when I saw my sail fly away haha. But then I had a really great session where for the fisrt time in my life I felt like I were flying !!! And I realised that your videos were very very useful. Merci merci !
Thank you Nico for addressing the whole social media pedistalling that has become rampant the last few years. Mental health here in the USA is pretty abismal and the younger generations who don't remember be fore the internet are having a hard go thanks to it. Good to have a positive influence who grinds for something they love, rather than expects applause for just breathing, saying these words for the kids to hear. Good stuff! Enjoy your work, highs and the lows.
Great vídeo, nice words ! Normally i only watch Robby's vídeos (hey, 52 years old...🤦🏻♂️ and windsurfing for 37 years now) but yours are super cool and dont miss one. 🤙🏻
Thanks for a little insight view into your life Nico. Great to see you have two feet firmly planted on the ground. Awesome slalom footage too btw! Keep it com´n!
Thanks for the video. This channel has been instrumental in helping me get into the sport. I just bought my first board and sail, gonna take it out for the first time this weekend. Wish me luck. Cheers from Chicago
MGMT , cool song. And I like the insight on work, achievements. Plus the action is fabulous. Grand video.. hoping for a second •One• series when the WC starts again
Great comments on social media & life balance, too much of any one thing gets bad if you don’t balance back out, working on laptop in the morning & windsurfing in the afternoon sounds like you got the life balance sweetspot 😁🤘
Thanks for the comments re what you really have to do. Blogs sometime don't show the hard work/ ups and downs which come with success. Good on you keep it up. Unfortunately TH-cam for all its ups doesn't show what really happens. Keep it real dude. Keep it up.
Nico love your videos and insights. Please provide board volume, sail size, and wind conditions when possible. I think most all windsurfers want to know that information. I've been windsurfing for 40 years now and the first 2 things people ask me at the beach is board volume and sail size. Thank you !
I always enjoy watching your windurfing, that spot looked awesome, nice big ramps for getting some air time at speed......You make those Gybes look so easy, they are my reference model!! I enjoyed your motivational section, it makes a lot of sense and also a very good point you make about social media too.
True words. Do what you want to do, in your own tempo on your personal way. You (an also many other Windsurftuber)are so inspiring, I can feel your passion, fun, joy for the sport and also your hard work for your channel and buz in each vlog. Thanks for awesome entertainment. Hang loose from GER
Great video once again - I will be sharing your thoughts on social media with the students I teach and my own children. Important message to continually reinforce with the younger generation. Thank you - keep up the great work!
You are an inspiration for me! Thanks for what you do everyday in your live and also for make videos for us! Seems to be there with you in the water 🤙🏻
Absolutely awesome video, thanks for the wisdom (no joke, is really good to know). nice action on the water . and by the way: Condolences to Mario for the hard time ...
I apreciate very much your insights and thougts about what life's going to make with us; very much in contrast to the bad jokes of the other one! It happens often enough, that I get jalous of someone like you when I cannot abandon my work, when there's a big "hack" on our lake and I cannot go surfing. In moments like these its quite difficult to be satisfied with what I have to do and to accept the things i have to do to be the right things for here and now. But anyway I like your videos most, because they give me dreams. Well done also the work of your filming buddy!
Good points and thank you for being greatful for the life you have created for yourself. If i could learn to gybe half as well as your videos i would be happy!
First year windsurfer here. I’d appreciate any advice at all but if there’s something specific that you’d recommend I focus on early, I’d love to know. Love the sport already, speed and long lines are what I’m leaning towards.
Big respect for sharing so important thoughts with us! Definitely one of the most valuable videos on your channel. Greetings from Poland and I dream we could meet on the water some day.
Nico your wisdom & honesty is inspiring. Whhhaaat, no sails sponsor?!? WTF When are you coming to Australia, western Aust. Make it summer for a sesh & brews. We will have the food van here too. Sail beer burgers that’s the real deal. 🤙
I hope you find a new sail sponsor Nico. You are keeping me inspired for slalom when I am unable to be on the water at the moment, thanks for the great videos
First five minutes are important for people to hear. Thanks for calling out social media - key critiques! Well done, Nico. Gracias!
As much as I enjoyed the action on the water, I enjoyed the honesty and insight more. Well done Nico.
Thanks Bob !!
Very important message, Nico! -Thomas
Dude, you’re super inspiring! And your humility is next level!

Yep Tarifa is the place to be. The Gorge is super high on my bucket list thought!

Good on you, Nico! Keep on enjoying/sharing life - in all it’s forms. (Thanks for sharing your windsurfing with us) That’s really what it’s all about : )
I appreciate your thoughts in the beginning. Life is always different and good that you share these thoughts.

once a windsurfer, always a windsurfer :-)
Favourite video yet! Great mix of on and off water content. High production value!
Good song - good surf action!
Sehr interessant. Schön, dass auch als Surfprofi das Leben nicht nur Ponyhof bedeutet. Hang loose und mach weiter so

Nice talk. My favorite part is around 3:55...many of us would make the same comment "oh, it's getting windy" and smile...

When are you coming to Australia, western Aust. Make it summer for a sesh & brews. We will have the food van here too. Sail beer burgers that’s the real deal. 🤙
Is that a hint to Severne? haha
@@Nico_GER7 nah mate, We have Patrik here. Just got to get him to hand over sails to test. They look awesome too.
I’m on NP V8.
There is no effort without training but we need time to enjoy and calm down a bit from time to time. Thank you
ah, Moment: wann hat Mario eigentlich zum letzten Mal ein Fitnesscenter von innen gesehen? So´n Hering
I love your videos and I think you are too strong !!! continue to surprise us with your videos and see you soon !!! 😜😜😜
Another great video. When are we going to see you and
Matteo head to head? Same boards different sails one epic race🤔 .
You are really reliable. Did like your thoughts in this video! :)
hello Nico, so it is the fin the most important reason to have control even when you sail in very strong winds?
Great video, in so many ways 👍
I hope you find a new sail sponsor Nico. You are keeping me inspired for slalom when I am unable to be on the water at the moment, thanks for the great videos
Excellent speech!!
Bravo!💪🏻
Hey Nico are you planning on coming to Çeşme or Turkey this summer
Awesome video as always Nico!🤙🏽🔥
Danke Alex 🤙
Cant agree more with Yours “serious speech”;)!
great video!
society and social media put a lot of pressure on the youth sadly
I think fitness & lifestyle based vlog would be really good like cardio, workout, what i eat in a day etc. with the details of you as an athlete.
How many fails did you have today? Good stuff, hahaha! Love it! Thanks, Nico👋😁
One massive catapult 😄
@Nico Prien Yeah, that looked painful! (oops, probably was...)😁
@@WindsurfingNelson wish I had that on camera. Never get my good crashed on cam -.-
@@Nico_GER7 Ah, sorry. I just thought about Mario's crash. Didn't think you had one, too!
Bester Anfang mgmt kids 😍
