Me too! I empathized so much with Mo. Now that I’m in my 30s and life has really kicked me in the face, I get emotional seeing pictures of myself as a teen all bright eyed and hopeful not knowing what is to come.
I teach middle school, and sometimes it's hard to really explain to my kids why we need to sometimes adjust ourselves to the surroundings rather than expecting others to just deal with however we decide to be. It's not one or the other, it's murky, and hard to put into words. Maddy is the perfect example of just dialing into different levels of herself depending on who she's interviewing. To see guests just visibly change body language and relax is so nice. And the perfect balance of shade and appreciation, not just to the guest, but herself. It's those deadpan divas you gotta watch out for 😄 Everyone remembers that kid that was friends with EVERY social group, and when you talked to them, you got why. Maddy is that kid. I'm reminded of so many of my students from over the years while binge-watching these videos. If they grew up and kept what Maddy shows in every interview, then my teacher heart will burst with pride. Great work, Ms. Morphosis.
That's a kind comment, because you frame this behaviour so positively. Sometimes I think, I'm too much of a social chameleon or boring push-over because I change the way I talk based on who I'm talking to. Before you pointed that out, I didn't recognise this energy in Maddy, even though it's rather obvious that she can get along with a wide spectrum of guests. What is appropriate for one situation or group of people is not appropriate for others. So, congratulate yourself for being more socially healthy than you realized!

My bf (a 6’1 Filipino bodybuilder) and I were both BOOKING IT to our Uber, running in platform heeled boots, and as we ran past her she yelled “Y’all better finish STRONG!!” And I’m still riding that high

One interesting thing I noted in this episode in the first portion, Mo would reference someone or an event that took place when Maddy happened to be really young at the time, and yet Miss Morphosis would still know the dates or clock it. This is knowledge and skills right there. Maddy knows a lot of stuff, yet not a “know-it-all”. Bravo.

I love Mo so much! My wife and I went to LA for our honeymoon in 2019. We went to Hamburger Mary's WeHo for Drag Bingo and then there was a local drag show after we stayed for. At some point, looked over towards the bar and there was Mo, off duty of course, talking to somebody and watching the show! Thought it was really amazing seeing her out supporting others ^_^
