The moment I saw Omegamon being revealed, I knew it was over. But I didn't expect Proximamon to have a really aggressive strategy. Great vid guys
If I were to make Buddyfight Comparisons, Proximamon decks feel similar to The Gargantua Dragon decks of the late Ace Era, while The Royal Knight Deck is basically like the Omni Lord decks that showed up in late X-Early Ace era (Though Omni lords played more into a Dump Strategy to macimize the damage of their main Game ender card, while Royal Knights put the opponent into a "End the game ASAP or die" Scenario).
Omegamon really did use the power of friendship on his side 😂

For me personally however, I go by names I'm more familiar with too - such as Kumamon (bearmon from Digimon World 3), and Raidramon (Lighdramon - Veemon's armor form). It's how I first learnt their names, and I wish they were kept the same (for me personally)

For anyone wondering why Paddy bring Marcus Damon, it's for getting rid of Solarmon-like effect which prevent play cost reduce
Holy crap Omnimon summoned an army! That seems super broken! Also, the Gammamon archetype is very interesting. Great game!
He basically pulled an "Avengers assemble!" Moment.
You can play around royals knights by having a rookie with a play cost floodgate effect. Since they don't gain blitz on summon either having options that gain memory when hit in security can also be a last minute form of protection from an otk. Also kongou option is really good if you're playing black.
The omnimon play was the equivalent of final turn🤣
Yeah but it’s omegamon great with its effect but later in the game. But I love playing this deck 😂
Decks that circumvent the normal rules of the game are fascinating to me. Super excited for the royal knight deck to make it to the US!
I want it so bad, too bad it’s probably going to be THE most expensive deck in the game.

@@MrThefire75 I've played magic off and on for a long time, though really it's just commander now. My two favorite decks are Yuriko and The First Sliver, both because they're aggro and good at creating a board through unconventional means

When Omnimon hits the field it really is party time for the royal knights deck. Scary deck.
It has a lot of bad matchups. any super aggressive deck that can start trashing security cards or checking multiple early on like armor form, imperialdramon, gallantmon, etc, or any deck with flood gates, since the royal knight deck would have almost no way to deal with the flood gates it's essentially game over if any hit the field.
I tot flood gates only happens in yugioh 😅
@@destruction8192 Floodgates has been around since early days of MtG (winter orb comes to mind as the most famous example). Yugioh's terminology just ended up catching on more.

i haven't kept up with digimon in a while but this looks insane! the game has come such a long way
Have to admit, it is a nice change of pace seeing decks that are not of opposing characters, like Xros Heart vs Bagra Army.
That Royal Knights deck has to be the most busted thing I've seen yet come out of this game. It's so powerful.
Really wanted Yggdrasil to be a 9 cost Tamer, but at least you cannot Digivolve with it around.
Sadly it loses pretty hard to 3 cost rookies that restrict reducing on play memory
2 decks I'm REALLY tempted to play. Cool light/dark digivolution deck vs royal zoo deck 🤩 wish I could build decks this well
The Gammamon archetype keeps getting more and more interesting with each update!
The Royal Knight deck is so insane, and this match was proof of that. Though I will admit that it was a bit of a missed opportunity to play the Royal Knight battle theme from Cyber Sleuth when Omegamon arrived on the field. Aside from that, fun match!

At 8:05, when Yggdrasil's effect activates to send Alphamon to the spawn area, Alphamon's second effect activates: "When this Digimon would leave the battle area by an effect, by returning 1 Digimon card with the [X Antibody] trait or the [Royal Knight] trait from this Digimon's digivolution cards to the bottom of your deck, prevent it from leaving play." It's a mandatory effect, unless I'm wrong.
It's not mandatory since you have to do X to do Y unless you fulfill the requirements alpha can leave field
Its basically saying "you may return" even thought its phrased differently.
Not mandatory unless stated
No ability is mandatory; you can refuse to activate effects that are triggered unless they specifically state they need to be activated.

I think the breeding area is the most poorly handled mechanic in the game.
@@bretbeebe4061 I think it definitely has more potential than just being a place where you can safely build up your stack.
So, any new use, like what Yggdrasil does in this deck, is welcomed.
@@Ango825 I mean there aren't enough ways to interact with the breeding area. Cards like BT2 Sakuyamon, Ice Wall, and Shinegrey Ruin are really the only cards able to influence an opponents breeding area (indirectly). I think more of these kinds of effects would nerf the stack-building and make the game more interesting.
Yggdrasil strat can be countered just by preventing play cost reduction, which seems pretty well balanced to me

I dont necessarily think these effects will end up nerfing the building side of the breeding area, as the possibilities for what you could do there or how you could affect it seem vast. Im thinking more about changing the way it interacts with the overall game and decks, by introducing new cards that have more new interactions.
After seeing the last mechanical changes the game is implementing, they could even change or add functions to breeding area itself. So definitely excited for more there as I told you.

Loving both decks and will play both but I have the fear that Yggdrasil will be very Expensive because of so much sr und sec in this deck.
I have the deck and I spent around 35,000 Yen for it. This was before Omegamon dropped in price from 5000 to 4000 yen each.

Yeah Omegamon's 2nd effect does feel like summoning Knights of the Round. Or if you play FF14, feels like King Thordan assembling the Heavensward knights!

What I love about the digimon tcg as a newer player is how inventive they can get with decks. As much as I love yugioh alot of archetypes can feel like the same strategy in different skins. But stuff like royal knights is totally unique.
True. A lot of YGO decks now are in different archetypes but most of them SS from hand / deck / graveyard and build a usually unbreakable end board
although i half disagree with your statement, Digimon does play more unique than Yu-Gi-Oh! but Yu-Gi-Oh! also has unique play style to achieve their win conditions. Is not always unbreakable board, some just goes Unga Bunga big number like Ancient Gear and Gren Maju, Control Floodgate, Deck Out, Alternate Win conditions, and many more.
@@kyrios0307 I think Digimon work the same, it just Digimon has universal Cost to limit their power while in Yu-Gi-Oh! the cost is the card itself.

So Yggdrasil is trying to make up for past sins by becoming a D-Reaper-esque sponge for Royal Knights huh? It's day will come!
The royal knights deck is strong but although I haven’t tested it my self I feel armor evolution decks will have no problem vs this deck or any of the OHKO decks
The problem is, they often have multiple deletion effects, and the Armors _won't_ be able to stem the rate at which Yggdrasil builds up sources due to lack of deletion effects.
Yggdrasil is a bit of a "doomsday clock" deck, so to speak. Once Omegamon comes out, _the game is over,_ since they'll have far too many attacks for you to stop (and since they're all on different Digimon, unlike, say, D-Reaper, a single security bomb won't save you), and likely have eradicated your blockers with Dukemon/Dynasmon
In this case, Paddy had no less than _seven_ uncontested attacks during the final turn.
Literally just fought against an Armor Rush deck at a tourney today and I won using RK. It didn't highrolled enough to rush me + dealing with the RKs on play.

So it’s basically “MegaZoo” rebranded into an archetype Deck “Royal Knights” by the Devs to honour the players making the MegaZoo Deck.
Clicked immediately because I have interest in both decks.
12 Royal Knights in terms of "ok, how does this deck work?" and Proximamon because I play it as my secondary deck.
Alright does anyone else see how this played out like a anime storyline. Ygdrassil fearing Gammamon's potential threat, and sending the Royal Knights to deal with it. Gammamon puts up a great fight up to Siriusmon, but gets beaten so the Dark Digivolve into Arcturusmon.
Then turn into Proximamon destroying Ygdrassil, and the Royal Knights putting up a final stand to defend the Digital World against the threat they accidentally brought forward.
Man, i was really rooting for Gammamon, but as always awesome video
The Royal Knights are so holy that the glare makes them bright white.
The only thing I dislike about that royal knight deck is that Omegamon is the one who swarms the field, like he was the leader or something. We all know it's because is the favorite but come on Alphamon and Jesmon are the bosses.
The deck is designed to stall until you have enough RKs to play Omegamon without passing turn and finish your opponent.
It's named omega for a reason, "the last", "the end", and his special move was "All delete".
So the card was true to his lore.

I have no idea what's happening here but all I can say is... Amazing
probably one of the more one sided games. Like yeah cardprotagonist made some impressive blows and did reduce paddy's security to 0 but they were blind haymakers that got dismantled next turn meanwhile the royal knights's strategy never realoly got derailed too often and kept marching till they were ready to swing for game

That's why RK decks irl atm brings tech like Masaru or Porcupamon to deal with those annoying Rookies.

You made a misplay with the Kentaurosmon effect. Revealing a card from hand is mandatory whether you have a yellow one or not.
I'm a yugioh player but watching these digimon TCG videos and seeing the bestialities being done is just exciting, when I bring out proximamon jogress and the ending with omnimon destroying yggdrasil to get to 6 royal knights and win, just crazy.

Bit of a missplay towards the end there. Dynasmons skill doesn’t actually trigger, as all of the royal knights were played out at the same time. So dynasmon misses timing, since they are all seen as being played at the same time.
No, it's confirmed that it triggers. Duftmon as well. In DCG, simultaneously playing Digimon would trigger effects that require other Digimon being played
@@kyrios0307 interesting, perhaps I was incorrect about it. This certainly makes dynasmon and leopardmon even better in the deck. Do you have a link for the official ruling?
@@xero1048 It's also the case for other effects that require timing. For instance, if you place a BT13 Dorumon underneath a Digimon as its bottom evolution card, its effect activates immediately to give you the 1 memory.
