Today is the first installment of a three-part video series touring the freshman dorms of Vanderbilt University. The Martha River Ingram Commons consists of Hank Ingram, Stambaugh, Memorial, Crawford, Sutherland, Murray, North, East, West, and Gillette. The ten houses of the Commons are distinctly different and all have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching!

Blair Lipham how do you get dorm assignments? do you get randomly assigned a dorm building and a dorm room or do u list ur top three or something? do u say if u want a double or a triple or is it up to chance?
clara smith it’s all up to chance. If you request a specific roommate you’re more likely to get a double but I went random and got a double. I’m in Stambaugh and it’s awesome!

I'm attending NSLC next week and I'm trying to figure out which dorm they're putting us in because I like to be over prepared and stressed about everything. Which building is the most out of the way, smallest, with questionably sanitary bathrooms, but also gives off a nice vibe to make people want to go to Vanderbilt?
Which freshmen houses are co-ed? Are all of them?
Does anyone know which two upperclassmen housing options are the best?
The options are:
1. Suite/Apartment style
2. Double
3. Mayfield
4. McTyeire
5. McGill
6. Residential Colleges
