As someone who was in college years ago (19). and has live on her own for 23 years what I have learned is to buy in twos not three because there's always going to be an odd one. Also make sure it's compact enough that you can pack early. I also move quite frequently every year/year year and a half due to circumstances. I have 17 tote boxes for my entire apartment I've had the same number for 23 years.
