    Don't know if you realize that the pools have been almost completely dry except for 2 of the larger ones for the last several years. You are actually pretty lucky to have gotten to visit during a historic monsoon season and the return of water to the pools! Thanks for sharing the video so we could see them full of water again!

    I live about 2 blocks from the Soldiers Pass Trailhead in the Cottages At Coffeepot. Sedona now has a shuttle Thursday thru Sunday that takes you from the parking lot at Posse Grounds Park to the trailhead. The parking lot remains closed. During heavy visitor times such as Spring Break, the shuttle runs daily. There is no parking at the trailhead. Devil's Kitchen is a sinkhole. The red smoke plum could be seen for 10 miles when it collapsed well over a century ago. This is how it got the name.

    The rocks are Sandstone not Limestone.............just saying

      Mostly puddles, but they can be small pools during very high rainy seasons.
