This is exactly why I just looked up this song, and they're panicking as I type this. Somehow, a post from four months ago making a joke about an episode aired 15 years ago just managed to have perfect timing.
*Internally screaming at the fact it's 15 years since this aired* It's funny how life and time works. When I made this comment, I was finishing my final high school exams and still in my own Stars Hollow (albeit not the same at all - I wish it had've been.) Four months later, I am season four Rory, entering the big scary world of further study and adult life. On the flip-side, I was four years old, and in Kindergarten, when this first aired, and eleven or twelve when I first watched it... No matter how far on it gets, and how outdated their technologies are, or the specific method of teaching outlined in the show, the core principles of Gilmore Girls will remain timeless. (Funnily enough, I do often wonder what GG would have been like if it was set today - with smartphones and high-speed internet! Not that different I guess! I don't quite think they could get any faster, that's for sure haha!) Thanks for reminding me of my favourite role model, Lorelai Leigh Gilmore!
We didn't have much in the beginning (or for the majority of our years together, to be honest 😂). We were so young, and beyond broke, but it didn't matter because we had each other. He's my biggest cheerleader and encouraged me to go back to school, and I'm in my dream career field now. He worked his way up in his job too, and little by little we've built a wonderful life together. We have a 7 year old daughter now, and were finally able to buy a house of our very own just last month! It's been an honor to grow up with him at my side, and now I get to grow old with him too. I'm sorry if this is too mushy but I am just so happy I get to do life with my best friend ❤️
I have sung this song to my 5 month old baby every single day, while putting him to sleep, since I thought of it when he was 2 wks old. Thanks for posting.
Go back to sleep now My darling And I'll keep all the bad dreams away Breathe now, think sweet things And I'll think of all the right words to say Because we made you My darling With the love in each of our hearts We were a family, my darling Right from the start Grow up now My darling Please don't you grow up too fast And be sure, darling To make all the good times last Because we made you My darling With the love in each of our hearts We were a family, my darling Right from the start
If you are a father like I am or a parent of any kind. A mother (you truly hold a special bond in which we fathers will never know, but some of us try ), a grandparent, foster parent, adoptive parent. Children are the single most amazing things on the face of the earth. They need comfort, guidance, and protection. This is inherently understood throughout all walks of life and throughout most of the animal kingdoms. It is inert in our nature as human beings and as animals both warm and cold blooded to protect and nurture our offspring. Children can be a handful, but I'm sure you can be to. There's two things that really shine in their eyes. The sun, and you. Protect them with ferocious love, kindness, and strength. Now more than ever we need strong, loving children to carry us into the next generation. -E. for you my beautiful babies H, T, & P forever daddy
Hate that this is so late but I couldn't agree more. When two heavy weight geniuses such as Jay and Jeff square off there's bound to be beauty, and then turmoil and jealousy, and eventually sometimes death. It could've been either one. I believe Jeff kicking him out of the band, because he was a threat, sealed Jay's fate. Sometimes egos can and do get us. But hey! Jeff's still alive and touring. Guess in death you find out who your friends are.
you know, I LOVE Jeff, but hearing Jay sing it is awesome...it would have been really cool to hear Jay sing it with this treatment...this version is awesome!
guyyute- you are like a Yankees fan who likes the Yankees because they bought A-Rod. What you are listening to right now is the real Wilco. This is as good as it gets.
@segdaas Dude, it's not a competition. It's about making sounds, however you need to make them, making music, whether that passes muster in the universe of youtube or not. Try writing a song like this one, capo or not.
Listen to the Paul McCartney solo song "Some People Never Know." I think this song borrows from it a little. I'm not complaining though; the Paul song never sounded finished, nor does anything else on Wild Life, and this one sounds much more fully formed.
This is a good song. But for a band that's so otherwise original... did they really have to rhyme "heart" with "start?" It's kinda time to never do that anymore.
No Rory, Lorelai, don't go to sleep... you'll miss your test!!
