The radio chatter in the first 30 minutes. it brings me chills but its peaceful chills, mixed with wonderment and fear. as a child of the silent hill era. Born '93. It brings this veil of cool nostalgia. That moment Of being a kid. With the old 80's Bench seat vehicles still on the road in early 90's. You're in the passenger seat as a kid, falling asleep with the AM radio playing and your grandparent/parent is driving you home from a weekend at a family members/grandma and you are TIRED. The lights from the street streak across You eye lids creating a rhythmic strobe effect as the whirring of the tires and the slow fading of the Radio as you fall asleep. But it is a lucid sleep. Like being aware of body, but dreaming in mind. That moment where nothing hurts, not even your dreams, because you know nothing of it, to a degree. Now the need for suvival drives us, and that in and of itself is a horror. This video takes that away for me.

I had no idea that Mount Shrine had passed away. His music means so much to me. The previous Mount Shine Archives video was running on loop throughout my long, lonely nights of studying. Especially when I wrote my Master's Thesis. His songs were just so distinct I was always able to pick them out in the ambient drone playlists, and I love to play his songs during my ttrpg sessions. I'm eternally grateful for what he indirectly did for me. Rest in peace Cesar. Your music created a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Absolutely love this. I listen to Mount Shrine’s work daily. Lost Loops was such a great compilation. The last Mount Shrine archives you did in October 2020 carried me through some dark times in the craziest year of the world it seems.
The best and really only mix that I keep coming back to that Cryo Chamber hosts, is the two produced my Mount Shrine. Its a true, "grounding" ambient mix. No dark god vibes, just pure ambient creativity. The feeling tone of this is so pure, he doesnt even try, hes simply expressing a piece of his own subtle mind. I wish Cryo Chamber would host more of this style of ambient music. Not just aim for the dark stuff.

Mount Shrines music has impacted my life profoundly. When my two dogs died this year in April and June Empty Slopes and Held Breeze comforted me in my loss, in my grief and in my depression. It makes me so sad that Mount Shrine is gone. Never to create such amazing music ever. But I'm happy that I got to experience his music. Thank you Mt Shrine.

I discovered Mount Shrine this year whilst high on THC, it relaxed me and brought me back down to a calm state. It was otherworldly and overall a pleasant experience, I had a lit scented candle and it was snowing outside. I remember the song "Earth Bridge" very distinctly whilst high and I associate that with comfort. I associate all of Mount Shrine's music with that comfort I felt at that time. Its very serene and quiet in that moment, no sound from the neighbours, no distant cars honking, just peace and tranquility. When I'm not on THC, I go to a place during the day where I feel the most safe to relax and lay down and close my eyes as I listen to his songs. I miss him.

I actually do. I think I’ve been mentally sitting on the apocalypse’s edge for so long that when it actually came to fruition, it was like a deep dark release of what I’d been seeking for so long. That and the rat race was gone and what really mattered in life surfaced to the top in everything because time seem limited. I’d do it again. Differently than before but I’d definitely do it again selfishly.
His was a light that shone so brightly, and yet it never crowded the sky or made it so we couldn't see what other monuments dotted the horizon. I found cryo chamber through his music, and consider it one of the great discoveries of my life. Gone but never forgotten.

like many of you, his music has touched me and helped so much through some of the toughest moments in the last few years. since everyone is sharing moments when his music hit the hardest, ill share mine. shortly after things got better with the pandemic, i left for my parents cabin in alaska to get away for a bit. the weather up there is pretty harsh and a few days after arriving, rain came. its hard to describe how right it felt to listen to mount shrine. it was as if i had found where his music was meant to be listened to. the rain, fog, mountains, large swells, cargo ships coming and going in the distance. it all felt so surreal, i dont think ive ever felt that disconnected from society. it was just me, lonely drones, shortwave transmissions and the unforgiving environment outside my cabin window. thank you cesar for helping us feel some solace in lonely times.
I'd never heard of Mount Shrine until I found this video, and since then I've been exploring all of his albums (which are incredible). Some of the most haunting soundscapes I've ever heard. So saddened to learn he is no longer with us and that he passed so prematurely. He was clearly a huge talent and his work will stay with me. Taken far too soon. Rest in Peace, brother.

It reminds me of the 'introduction episode' to Welcome to Night Vale that I didn't finish (made me want to tune out, felt alienated, like they were philistines, like I wasn't getting the right thing out of it and I had to sit through the implication it is bad,, with the repeated mentions early on (I think it is supposed to be an ominous, unsettling horror vision) of a world with "dark forests, turbulent oceans" I remember thinking about how I fantasized, at the time of sth similar, at least in the way I thought then, how my mind was- in that time of living there alone (a stupid idea of wanting to live there just alone without anything, but not having to worry abt exigencies) EP Thompson apparently mentioned about utopia meaning some live alone in the open letter to Kołakowski, theres some who want to, there was Thoreau and others, transcendentalists; apparently some people who are ment/ diff esp I think it is not a wholly 'pathological' thing
Cryo: I listened to every track that was posted when it all began a few months ago. It seemed to go on forever - which was good. I am happy to see this complete collection in one album and I'm listening to it again. Mount Shrine's works inspired one of my favorite campaigns, and his music was a staple of running it with my friends and practically was another person sitting in the call with us, adding to the ambience and whisking us all away to that surreal and unique place. Mesmerizing and soothing. Sounds very much like first and second Silent Hill games, with radio talk reminding of some space exploration mission in the Alien vane. I didn't know this artist's music before, and I didn't know he passed away. So much talent and joy. So sad and morose. My condolences to everyone who knew his music or him and love it.
I‘ve read Dan Simmons‘ 'The Abominable' to which Mount Shrine‘s Shortwave Ruins became my soundtrack. It just matched the vibe of this book for me, which was really amazing in my opinion. Whenever I listen to it now, I think of the characters in that book
His light was like a bright star, never overwhelming the sky but revealing other beautiful monuments on the horizon. I discovered Cryo Chamber through his music, and it's been one of the great joys of my life. Though he's gone, his memory lives on.
RIP Mount Shrine, this is a just tribute, good remix and I like the disused stargate in a mountain hill image. The image of a portal to another world is very fitting for the circumstances and the atmosphere of the music.

as a child of the silent hill era. Born '93. It brings this veil of cool nostalgia. That moment Of being a kid. With the old 80's Bench seat vehicles still on the road in early 90's. You're in the passenger seat as a kid, falling asleep with the AM radio playing and your grandparent/parent is driving you home from a weekend at a family members/grandma and you are TIRED. The lights from the street streak across You eye lids creating a rhythmic strobe effect as the whirring of the tires and the slow fading of the Radio as you fall asleep. But it is a lucid sleep. Like being aware of body, but dreaming in mind. That moment where nothing hurts, not even your dreams, because you know nothing of it, to a degree.
Now the need for suvival drives us, and that in and of itself is a horror. This video takes that away for me.

I had no idea that Mount Shrine had passed away. His music means so much to me. The previous Mount Shine Archives video was running on loop throughout my long, lonely nights of studying. Especially when I wrote my Master's Thesis. His songs were just so distinct I was always able to pick them out in the ambient drone playlists, and I love to play his songs during my ttrpg sessions. I'm eternally grateful for what he indirectly did for me.

The best and really only mix that I keep coming back to that Cryo Chamber hosts, is the two produced my Mount Shrine. Its a true, "grounding" ambient mix. No dark god vibes, just pure ambient creativity. The feeling tone of this is so pure, he doesnt even try, hes simply expressing a piece of his own subtle mind. I wish Cryo Chamber would host more of this style of ambient music. Not just aim for the dark stuff.
I kid you not, I have been coming back this video everyday since it came out to just listen. Like it resonates with me on such a profound level, I can’t even put it into proper words.

Mount Shrines music has impacted my life profoundly. When my two dogs died this year in April and June Empty Slopes and Held Breeze comforted me in my loss, in my grief and in my depression. It makes me so sad that Mount Shrine is gone. Never to create such amazing music ever. But I'm happy that I got to experience his music. Thank you Mt Shrine.

I discovered Mount Shrine this year whilst high on THC, it relaxed me and brought me back down to a calm state. It was otherworldly and overall a pleasant experience, I had a lit scented candle and it was snowing outside. I remember the song "Earth Bridge" very distinctly whilst high and I associate that with comfort. I associate all of Mount Shrine's music with that comfort I felt at that time. Its very serene and quiet in that moment, no sound from the neighbours, no distant cars honking, just peace and tranquility. When I'm not on THC, I go to a place during the day where I feel the most safe to relax and lay down and close my eyes as I listen to his songs. I miss him.

I actually do. I think I’ve been mentally sitting on the apocalypse’s edge for so long that when it actually came to fruition, it was like a deep dark release of what I’d been seeking for so long. That and the rat race was gone and what really mattered in life surfaced to the top in everything because time seem limited. I’d do it again. Differently than before but I’d definitely do it again selfishly.

like many of you, his music has touched me and helped so much through some of the toughest moments in the last few years. since everyone is sharing moments when his music hit the hardest, ill share mine. shortly after things got better with the pandemic, i left for my parents cabin in alaska to get away for a bit. the weather up there is pretty harsh and a few days after arriving, rain came. its hard to describe how right it felt to listen to mount shrine. it was as if i had found where his music was meant to be listened to. the rain, fog, mountains, large swells, cargo ships coming and going in the distance. it all felt so surreal, i dont think ive ever felt that disconnected from society. it was just me, lonely drones, shortwave transmissions and the unforgiving environment outside my cabin window. thank you cesar for helping us feel some solace in lonely times.

Every now and then I'll listen to Apocrypha, God Body Disconnect, and Dead Melodies but something about Mount Shrine just makes me feel at home. I had no idea that Mount Shrine had passed away. His music means so much to me. The previous Mount Shine Archives video was running on loop throughout my long, lonely nights of studying. Especially when I wrote my Master's Thesis. His songs were just so distinct I was always able to pick them out in the ambient drone playlists, and I love to play his songs during my ttrpg sessions. I'm eternally grateful for what he indirectly did for me.

It reminds me of the 'introduction episode' to Welcome to Night Vale that I didn't finish (made me want to tune out, felt alienated, like they were philistines, like I wasn't getting the right thing out of it and I had to sit through the implication it is bad,, with the repeated mentions early on (I think it is supposed to be an ominous, unsettling horror vision) of a world with "dark forests, turbulent oceans"
I remember thinking about how I fantasized, at the time of sth similar, at least in the way I thought then, how my mind was- in that time of living there alone (a stupid idea of wanting to live there just alone without anything, but not having to worry abt exigencies)

I‘ve read Dan Simmons‘ 'The Abominable' to which Mount Shrine‘s Shortwave Ruins became my soundtrack. It just matched the vibe of this book for me, which was really amazing in my opinion. Whenever I listen to it now, I think of the characters in that book
His light was like a bright star, never overwhelming the sky but revealing other beautiful monuments on the horizon. I discovered Cryo Chamber through his music, and it's been one of the great joys of my life. Though he's gone, his memory lives on.
RIP Mount Shrine, this is a just tribute, good remix and I like the disused stargate in a mountain hill image. The image of a portal to another world is very fitting for the circumstances and the atmosphere of the music.
