So, grieving we chopped it down into a kind of dune buggy. Watching your channel, if I'd had your tenacity and skills, I could of easily fixed it.
Dan, I've been watching (and subscribed!) for a while and I'm always impressed with what you do. When I'm lining up panels and I've got them on and off several times, I often use tek screws on overlaps. They're a self-drilling sheet metal screw with a flanged 8mm bolt head, originally for roofing I believe. Nice thing is that you can put a panel in place, nip it up with the tek screws, then take it off to deal with underneath and know that you'll be able to get the top panel back in place in exactly the right place when you screw it back on. Once you've tack welded it in place, take the tek screws out and weld through the holes. I use them a lot - they were invaluable when I did the floorpans in a Beetle, and I've currently got the sills, rear quarters, front bulkhead and doorposts screwed together to make sure it all lines up before I have a mammoth welding session!

On that molding for around the package tray, what about using the stick-on chrome body side molding or fender lip molding. Your sheet metal replacing looks great. I wish mine was as good as yours. I worked at GM assembly in Janesville Wi. for many years on the solder, lead grinding booth line. You are awesome to take near junk and make it “road worthy “ maybe others have do “conversations “ but I discovered you over a year ago. I have no experience with LS engines but their plentiful and cheap ever consider tackling one this would be good candidate
He's done a couple ls swaps. Dani's '57 is one.
@@brianhaw9398 oh that’s right! My bad
You still have the roof. I'm thinking Hideaway Hardtop. Now that would be a mountain of work but a cool project down the road. I bet NO one has ever done it.
I’m a 52 y/o that has been greatly inspired by you!
Thanks Chris! I appreciate it man

When you're eventually done and you roll out of the driveway with your lady beside ya.... play Roy Orbison's Pretty Woman :-)) Going to maybe paint this one Dan? Two tone... Can't wait. Go with a 6.0 LS for that reliable but powerful beaut! She's going to be a BEAUT!! NOICE!!
I’m commenting so I’m donating because I like your way of doing things.
looks awesome, keep on building brother
I completely didn’t get it, and thought you were totally insane…until this video. Now I can see it. Very cool.
Still probably insane haha
Fixem your way, Drivem, your way. Keep it coming brother. Enjoy
PS: conduit and a conduit bender do wonders. Also square 1" in a bender would look good.

Love this video Dan and appreciate seeing more of the process of you fitting and tacking in these panels. Best to you both (and the pups) 👍
Thanks man!
@@DDSpeedShop hello I been watching since you started the last car and was wondering why not turn a four door car into a two door two seater car by joining the back/front doors together and cutting the car in half an shorten it turning it into a tin top sportcar .
