If you were starting a gravel driveway from scratch, what kind of gravel would you use?? Bought a house that had a yard full of wood chips and it was a soggy mess. I needed that area to park my work truck so I started filling it in with one and a half inch blue rock. It seems to be packing on its own, but I saw one of your videos, that looked like it may have had a much smaller product mixed in with larger rocks to help a compact. I don’t know what I’m talking about. Can you just give me a simple recipe. Thanks so much!

2 inch then 57 then crush. Sprinkle the 57 over the 2 inch and then put about 4 to 6 inches of crush. Enjoy and thanks for watching and your comment!

I'm not sure I would have done it the way you did. If it were me I would have wanted to crown the driveway to get rid of the water. I'm not sure I would have used crusher run in that low spot, I think I would have installed a cross tile then brought the low spot up to grade. But then it depends on what the client wants too. I've never ran a roller on a skid steer before, we use actual rollers, but when rolling on gravel its best to use just the weight of the machine as much as possible especially at first. Vibrating isn't always effective, especially with larger rock. And it can damage your drum. We vibrate in areas where the weight alone won't get the desired compaction. Might be something for you to consider.
You did a great job though.

I don't think a ruckus rake should be used as a grader.

Would of been better to remove soil on edges and not mix into the drive.
