- The oldest city of Bangladesh is Mahasthangarh, an ancient urban area on a vast 2500 years old site. If you ever find yourself in the North part of Bangladesh you can also take a chance and visit the millennia old historical monuments of Bengal. Mahastangarh is one of these historical monuments, a huge metropolis that even nowadays would be considered impressive by its size and architecture.
