Guts and Isidro's relation is supposed to mirror Guts and Gambino IMO. Instead of using Isidro as a cannon fodder for his own gain and instill cynicism into the kid, Guts allowed and encouraged Isidro to think for himself and showed him there is life beyond fighting. Whereas Gambino taught Guts to be a strong killer, Guts taught Isidro to be a strong person. Guts had his childhood violently took away by Gambino. He doesn't want to inflict a cycle of abuse into Isidro. I think Miura demonstrated Isidro's immaturity and childish antics because we have to remember he IS a child who had his innocence intact in a world as gruesome as Berserk's.
Gaston was simply reborn again after centuries in a distant planet and ends up getting sent to earth as a child only to lose his memories about his parents and become the greatest fighter in the universe
Love how in the manga Isidro’s idol was Guts and his comedic relief companion is Puck. There’s so many hilarious moments between them and hopefully more folks get to read it for themselves. Plus he’s a master at throwing rocks and is getting more adept at using swords.
I like the idea of Isidro becoming Guts’ protege, but I think the fighting style he’s demonstrated so far is far better suited to the life of a swashbuckling, husband cuckling, treasure plundering pirate. He’s even got a fish-girl waifu, the signs are there people!
@@dante6985 PRETTY MUCH! like i get that it was to give him a sense of loss so that way he could finally see how serious this whole thing is. but it felt like the arc was made entirely pointless and quite simply a waste of time with the destruction of elf helm. because what all was established that still has any meaning now from the sea god arc that we are in the eastern exile arc? pretty much nothing mentioned or established there matters now or carries over any weight.
Isidro fighting very dirty is so good. A kid surviving in the world of Berserk alone has to be a badass like Guts or someone who can't fight without honor or codes
Can’t say I was a fan or even liked Isidro for a good long while cuz I felt like he was just written in for Guts to have a young boy to look after and train. I guess he grew on me some and if beserk ever ends maybe a new series with Isidro and whoever else is left alive if any of them even survive in the first place which I’m not so sure won’t happen
i also like the introduction of isidro and the puck and isidro antics, but sometimes it really does just go for way to many panels, and i think thats one of the reasons people dislike it, great in moderation but early on the author used it at every oportunity.
it wouldn't make sense for isidro to kill mule, they have a rivalry akin to that of guts and Serpico or goku and vegeta. mule even exchanged names with isidro because he wanted to have a formal rematch showing that in some circumstance that maybe they wouldn't want to kill the other if it could be helped. Sonia also doesn't make much sense either. I'm sure if it came down to it he would if it meant life or death but he seems like the kind of character that holds back because he knows killing isn't always the answer and would prefer a disarming tactic paired with a hasty retreat. i might be wrong, now that he has lost his fish girl waifu its possible he will start taking it more seriously and give into the hatred and need for murder but i just cant see him doing that yet without it pushing him over the edge first.

The comedic relief you find annoying is present on only a very small portion of the page and can be easily ignored if you want. Stop following the crowd like a sheep and think on your own. ( Puck is like a cat , stress reliever , that's why I like him)
I cant even lie.. after the masterpiece Lost Children was.. How amazing the demon fights in conviction are.. Puck and Isidro are honestly making it worse.. Its starting to feel like a marvel movie forcing humor in.. Ruining the dark theme that i absolutely fell in love with in this manga..
