The defense gave up 379 yards and 34 points to a Texas A&M offense led by one of the worst QBs in the SEC... BOB is terrible as a GM (a decent coach, not great), but the defense is the issue for Bama.
Tory Taylor is an amazing punter, 20 of his 40 punts have been inside the 20, but saying he's the best player on the team is weird when Iowa has the two highest rated cornerbacks in college football based on Pro football focus ratings Matt Hankins and Riley Moss are rated #1 and #2, Iowa also has Tyler Linderbaum at center who is graded as the best center in college football atm and it's not even close and then there's Goodson who has only had some issues this year because of the freshman starters on the offensive line this year but is still one of the most dangerous weapons on the field at any given moment. Only one quarterback that has started against Iowa this year has actually finished the game so far this year, 4 were benched and 1 was injured. Also I get that people always want to question this team and how good they are and it's easy to sit here and say Penn State would have one but those two TD's in the first quarter could have just as easily been the only ones Penn State was going to get all game, we'll just never know. The drive Clifford was injured on was a field goal when he got stopped on third down because those screens and scrambles were starting to get taken away and that's where most of Penn States success came early on. Clifford had thrown 2 picks already and could have easily throw 2-3 more throughout the game. Either way 17-10 at the half, Colorado state also had a 14-7 lead against Iowa at the half but they made adjustments and CSU never saw Iowa's side of the field again. We'll never know how this game would have played out if Clifford stayed in but anyone saying they know for sure Penn State would have won isn't being rational.
Goodson is blah. He is a 3rd down back in The NFL. I think they are tougher with that Martin guy running between the tackles. Goodson dances too much before he gets going. When you have a punter who can bury the opponent against the goal line, it makes the defenses job easy as the offense becomes predictable. 90% of the offenses playbook goes out the window in that situation. That leads to a lot of 3 and outs which leads to great field position for Iowa's offense. The Iowa offenses average start is on the opponents 46 yard line for Pete's sake. Lol. The offense only has to game about ten yards to be in field goal range. Put an average punter in that and Iowa is 4-2 at best and 2 - 4 at worst.

@Darius Williams it’s been a better program for a decade now. Every Aggie would tell you Jimbo has helped the program tremendously. It’s not just Bama. Last year we beat a top 5 ranked Florida team. Sumlin had 2 good years with a Heisman winning QB. Fisher isn’t anything close to Sumlin. He’s won a national championship with Florida State. There’s a culture change and it’s evident. The team is more physical and the talent from all the recruiting classes is showing up. Jimbo didn’t just put coach Saban. He did it with his backup QB and two back up offensive linemen. A&M is a sleeping giant in college football. It has the location, the facilities, the money and the fan support. I think they have the right coach now.

The Iowa win was legit, plain and simple. Clifford was nothing special, it’s just as likely he would have cracked as anyone else. Nothing he did in his first few drives was different than tagovailoa, who wound up throwing six picks as the game went on. Furthermore, it’s on them for not protecting QB1 against the nation’s best linebacker. Would love to see the Dean of college football lick them again in Indy.

Yes, it looked like Penn St was better at first but had to start the game in a hurry-up offense (which was smart). Took advantage of great field position with a pick, (which Iowa didn't). And slowed Iowa's offensive momentum with fake injuries, (pretty weak really). What you aren't giving Iowa credit for is they have started slow many times this year and regrouped. Opponents in the first 5 games had scored a total of 17points in the 2nd half.
Can Georgia get ANY screentime on this show lol? When Bama and Ohio State was up the show talked about them religiously. At least preview #10 Kentucky vs #1 Georgia, big matchup.

@@mattratliff3114 I agree we just need the Heisman QB, the elite WR, and a shutdown CB. Everything else is good enough to win high ranked games. Our O-line will get better as time goes on and they gain experience but the QB is all we need

The Iowa win was legit, plain and simple. Clifford was nothing special, it’s just as likely he would have cracked as anyone else. Nothing he did in his first few drives was different than tagovailoa, who wound up throwing six picks as the game went on. Furthermore, it’s on them for not protecting QB1 against the nation’s best linebacker. Would love to see the Dean of college football lick them again in Indy.

Yes, it looked like Penn St was better at first but had to start the game in a hurry-up offense (which was smart). Took advantage of great field position with a pick, (which Iowa didn't). And slowed Iowa's offensive momentum with fake injuries, (pretty weak really). What you aren't giving Iowa credit for is they have started slow many times this year and regrouped. Opponents in the first 5 games had scored a total of 17points in the 2nd half.
Joel Klatt always puts Cowerds total ignorance of the game into perspective. Every time they talk Cowherd looks like a fool in some way.

Williams is too much of a valuable threat with his legs. I really don't see Rattler transferring though, Rattler celebrated with the team after the win, after everyone was saying that he went straight to the locker room after the game. Williams will start, with Rattler getting some designed plays in. I really wish Rattler was a good DT QB, but he's not, and does have the potential.
