recovery rate from status ailments is based on your luck stat. also, to anyone wondering why gale solo for dds2, it's because party members will leave your party frequently and gale stays in your party the longest. even when he does leave, he's gone for like one room. this makes him the only real candidate for a solo run. one major con to this is that you cannot choose how his stats allocate when he levels up. one major pro is that he gets (arguably) the best magic skill which is exclusive to him in the game.
Every party member in DDS 2 leaves for at least one dungeon except for Gale
I wonder if that ties into his character…
wait hang on what other games in the SMT series does this apply to, including Persona? I havent seen ANYTHING in forums regarding luck and status dispel specifically
@DeadAndDeaf Pretty much any game that uses Luck as a stat. Luck also almost always modifies the rate that skills with percentage chances land. Games where this isn't true include the PS2 Persona games. SMT1&2 also make Intelligence the primary %chance stat. Luck is probably at its most important in regard to statuses in SMT5 and Soul Hackers 2. People think Luck matters for criticals, but it really only matters for that in any significant way in SMT4.

I think my favorite part of this challenge is your edits to the game. Half of them feel like something that would actually be in the game. Case and point, the fact that gui xian actually bicker like sans and papyrus do is ACTUALLY in the game, and now I'm questioning what else was actually in the game and not edited in.
Loved the reference with the "It's a cutscene, it doesn't count".

"Meddling brats who were determined to challenge me without using their demon forms." I was not expecting that reference. Also, I seemed to notice there was one boss who wasn't fought, a certain chaotic being no longer bound by his "No Demons," run.
Yeah I had a feeling before even watching the video that Deus going to be skipping that one. I mean it was a dark miracle that Robin/Zephyr was able to do that in Human Form, but with just Serph? Unless an exploit is found, I just don't think our magatama-slurping friend is giving Deus enough options to pull something like that off
Might wanna bring at least an XM307 ACSW for that one...
I'm 100% he has tried, but I would not be surprise if it was just imposible. Since he would need to tank everything at -4, win every Mudoon roll, get the sleep, and keep up with the demons 30 turn timer.
Which is honestly so absurd I don't think it might be posible even with exploids.

@TARINunit9 I'm not exactly sure if im correct, but I swear I remembered seeing someone use Hunger-Wave in the Demi-Fiend fight solo, and killed Demi-Fiend that way.

Ok finished watching. This is by far your best challenge run so far based on scale and production value. The Spencer Mansion was the best part. Really felt like the game switched to Resident Evil.

It took me THIS long to realize the names of the characters are references to the five elements in the game.
Serph(Surf) = Ice/Water
Heat = Fire (Duh)
Argilla(Italian for "clay") = Earth
Gale = Wind/Force(also duh)
Cielo (Italian for "sky"/"heaven") = Electricity
Cielo is also spanish for sky

Man I never realized Digital Devil Saga didn't have demon fusion! This game actually looks incredibly fun! Is it available anywhere practical? If not, is it easy to emulate? I really wanna chomp down on some demons now.

The Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 are some the most fun Megami Tensei spinoff games I've played in a while. Regarding the best way to start playing this game, emulating it on PCSX2 via PC.
I personally played on my PS2 slim hardware for an authentic experience and it was definitely worth it playing the games on my 27 inch CRT TV. :)
It has instead another system that's very insteresting, you can customize every characters skillsets, so anyone can have any set of offensive +plus buffs/debuff skills despite their profeciencies and weaknesses.
PS2 emulates real nice and there's even undub patches. CDRomance is a good site for it
How many times have I rewatched this and the other video on DDS? A lot.

You still technically have a fight in this game you havent beaten. In new game plus, in the room your dropped into when you walk in front of a wrong painting, you will find a door that leads to the hardest boss in the game. Lets hope you dont need to go through dozens of new game plus cylces if you try it.
Sadly no form of new game plus would help against demi-fiend since stats are maxed out at 99 in this game and the only cheese strat available still requires 3 party members to even attempt to pull of

@@gabrielcalderon6715 For Xenoblade 2, there has been and could do more Nuzlocke challenges, given the blade system. Xenoblade 1 could feature level 1, or red level challenges due to DE making level down available from the start(Why XBC3 didnt do this is beyond me). Xenoblade 3 is the hardest to do, but banning chain attacks, Ouroborus forms, Lucky Seven, and restricting classes could work.
Can anyone explain why people like xenoblade 3. I thought the story was predictable and stale with unengaging combat (auto battle)

Should I get Nocturne or SMT V since I can’t decide between the 2
From my own experience with the SMT series starting with Nocturne myself, SMT V would be a smoother start to ease in while still having its challenges. The more modern features tend to help, though Nocturnes rerelease does add a few of those in thankfully, so it wont be as rough as the old PS2 version.
Otherwise if you dont mind a bit of the roughness, going from Nocturne to SMT V would be a more.. Accurate route (will make sense if you do try this way)
