Ask him if he sits back and ponder over the excuses they give and how do they feel about it?
I must admit, it's refreshing to hear a KK guy take some level of responsibility.
we did not experience such blackout during Uhuru Kenyatta
The problem is having a lawyer to head an engineering ministry... it never works... you need engineers to know distributed systems. I can't say the same for Davy
He sacked the former M.D and technical engineer.
Even home generators kick in immediately and work well.
They have excuses for everything
Next should be Mukormen,
Way out..
Sacrificed
I also wonder, auto-generators are all over including high schools.
Lol laymen understanding of issues is truly shocking.
At least he praised President Kenyatta for the first time.
Even the way he speaks just tells you that the guy don't have any clue about avionic industry. The problem when you appoint unqualified people to head key positions. Kenya will soon collapse if this is not changed
Erick don't give space.....this are just incompetent characters
Talking Hot Air. Murkomen, you know that game that is being played at the Airport.
Fully agree. KK are not just totally corrupt they are totally incompetent. Now we have 25 years of these guys - and we know they cannot handle a country. Get them out!
You and chirichiri just go home, we have never had this before, surely???
If we are able to install and configure generator, solar and UPS backup in our company, I don't see why an international airport if failing. In our system, the Generator takes 29 seconds to come on line. In those 29 seconds the UPS is in use. That means only the technician will notice the power outrage.
Of course. Its the same principle.
These things are simple. He speaks about them like a layman. Backup generators should be tested at least once a month to ensure functionality. That incident was unacceptable.
They are always caught pants down. Power is the simplest of all infrastructures if you have the right minds.
Because he is a lawyer heading an Engineering docket. Clueless.
It was intentional.
Some of us know how backup systems work and how system failure look like in such systems.
It's really sickening, especially considering Kenya's status in the region and Africa economical and technological.
A government that is full of lies...full of excuses..This regime should not be allowed go go beyond 5 yrs... Kipchumba Murkomen should explain how he wears a 6 million watch with a salary of 1million..ama deals zimekua mingi..?
I liked the professionalization of cabinet, because most politicians wouldn't make it in private sector without any collusion with govt, unless they somehow managed to pull of politics within a private company (which would be a bad sign for the prospects of that company). The current govt itself has communicated implicitly on the effectiveness of non-politicians: the housing agenda overly-relied on the PS Charles Hinga, who was a carryover from the previous govt. When the president traveled to the US, he hid then Trade CS Moses Kuria like _bangi_ and traveled with former CS Adan Mohamed. Just a couple examples my tired mind can pull off at the moment, but I know there are many such examples.
Systemic Saa ngapi wakati wa uhuru uliskia wapi JKiA hakuna stima ama roof Ina leak??Wacha story za jaba naniii
So ni Ruto ametomboa...common sense is not common anymore
Do you work at kaa...my friend av been there for 10yrs now...Jkia is too old and they did renovation terminal 1b and c...its was leaking upto now its still leaking.after wating millions of shillings. If you pass thru 1b or c you may thing you are in dubai..but let it rain utaabika. The goverment should just focus on something new and not the old
@@oscarsam8770 I don't care about JKiA I am not in govt
When installation of the generators were done, was there a process of comprehensive testing including stress testing? Waziri publish the test results and what was decided as the way-forward. Were subsequent tests performed to ensure that the desired results were achieved?
Thanks waziri for accepting that, technocrats are important irrespective of which regime
😂😂😂 Uhuru and Raila Took KPLC transmitters with them
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
If anyone was to be fired it must be Murkomen. He is part of a very toxic regime.
yes.
Indeed!;the buck stops with him. He should resign.
You said it right
More power loaded!
Once upon a time I was not seeing the sense from Cheragai but now I fully understand Cheragai
Thankyou Eric for putting Murkommen to the spot....
Unfortunately Murkommen is a sweet talker, we give him the benefit of doubt for his work. January haiko mbali..😊
We don't want power outages to sneak in stollen money or contraband. This guy is a smooth operator
the funny thing is even if blackout comes today. the generators will not kick in😂😂.
Ask Cheregei to show you how to switch on the generators.
There are countries where this level of incompetence would be met with jail time. If we lived in an honourable society this fellow would have tendered in his resignation .
After hearing him, do you really think he was directly involved in CAUSING the blackouts? Honestly
Why can't he resign fail to produce shame CS.
Clueless individuals, sad state of kenya.
CT, your silence is very loud😅
I have not watched this clip and I do not need to, my comment is there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for the failures of KAA regarding JKIA. Mhe nipe kazi nifanye, we have more than enough qualified Kenyans that would sort out this mess within weeks. God bless Kenya 🎉❤
The bullshit with this country is that especially KAA where do you get experts from yet the only organisation employig those experts are KAA. Why dont you promote the guys who have been there for ages. Why employs your kinsmen at the expense of guys who put in hard work. This recruitment will sink KAA further since the experts unless they were working for bigger airports than JKIA then its just a fallacy. The most incompetent CS so far
absolutely
👍👍👍
Moi regime all over again
Eaters. They are in it for tenders. Nothing else
Would be great to hear mhesh's opinion on the airport for seems like the first sacking was unwarranted.
Poor Maintenance is across the board in nearly all institutions in Kenya. No accountability or responsibility therefore no change. He speaks about this issue with such glee. These things are not complicated if you employ the right folks.
Best show ever🔥🔥
I think Murkomen should just do a honorable thing to render his resignation and accept that he has no idea of the docket he was offered. Keeping telling Kenyans "i think" manenos is not helping
"honorable thing to render his resignation"
Kenyan politician and honorable in the same sentence? In a country where corruption is rewarded, that's not going to happen.
In a functioning democracy, ¾ of this parliament would be in jail and the keys thrown away.
Does he operate the generators
I loke how you were direct with questions pointed to Murkomen
Murkomen you have failed us terribly, how are the outsiders taking us, it has never happened again, why is it happening during your time
This guy sounds either confused or unsure of the situation. Even if the problem is solved, we will neither be sure of what the problem was nor which exact solution will work

You aren't engineer
Uongo bwana we never experienced blackout during uhuru tenure
Along the Kenya highways; Nairobi to the Mombasa coast, to western Kenya to Homa Bay wherever telephone communication had reached, standby generators were installed with Japanese financing. The Telecommunication Assistant Engineer then resigned before the power plants were commissioned and i was employed to take over from him from Kenya Power and Lighting where I had been a Plant maintenance technician to take over from the previous Engineer. I was only under 30 years old and was able to supervise and synchronize over 25 generators for Kenya posts and Telecommunication and were no cases of failures. What is this issue of you establishing a whole ministry of Engineers to manage standby Generators which are within less than 5 miles distance, spending so much public money funds? I do not fail to know there are very advance electronic sensing systems today as compared to my time 48 years ago, Hon. Murkoman that can manage those generators Mombasa.
Its the sitting allowances from the many meetings
Lawyers will just talk talk and talk and...... Talk some more.
Spice should have brought an electrical engineer/consultant in the room to try and fact check this liar's claims. I feel like they did not have the confidence due to lack of knowledge in the area. Murkomen being the lawyer sought out seemingly good explanations and stories that will convince the public. Being a fast talker he did not even let the questions come in.
Never give lawyers such positions. You will only get lots of talk.
You have been in the job for more than a year and no responsibility?
Driving licence??? I was at the Upper Hill to take a photo for my DL after renewal and I was told that the systems were not working
Honestly speaking, Murkomen is objectively forthright
Please Erick
Kipchumba is lying
1.he is not answering the question
2.he is pre_oquipied to justify what others are saying
He does not have any clue of what happened
4.He is blaming Uhuru
Which question exactly sisi kama social media engineers tukujibu?
@@rawtation😂😂😂😂
We need more then 1 scanner at Mombasa airport. Also needs renovation as parts of the roof panels are dirty , big time. Needs a clean up and some renovation.
Listening is a Virtue....the CS doesn't learn to Listen.....this is the problem of ujuaji infact early Ujuaji...
Good progress CS
MD is seated in office 2 to 3 hrs a day and there is an engineer who is seated at the godown 8 to 9 hrs a day but he understands how that damn thing will switch in seconds with zero interruptions, let the game begin end of the day you will look for him in the godown to help the situation because things are thick! Pay this people well they deserve it stop this stories Waziri.
People are able to install standby generators and use street technicians "electronics fundis" in the local market centres to synchronize their generators and test them yet Murkomen says the best airport in East Africa hasn't bee able to do so in one month period between the first blackout and the one on Sunday??😂😂
A Clueless lot
These are people who don't want systems that work so that they can do what they know best. Quite sad.
@@kenndege285Matenders....
Bwana CS thanks for the explanation because most of learn from media and TH-cam bloggers. Why all these generators when we can have Solar power Bwana CS.
Murkomen. God bless you. Our God will show you His mercy and you will go through. Watu wa matusi wachana nao.
Shut your mouth kagege
using big words like synchronization. Generator has a panel if no error and set to auto, the rest is stories. There is nothing for engineer to do on a panel. Ensure, service, fuel is full and that is it. The rest is stories. Let his share panel logs. You don't need DCI. Finally, Load shedding is design failure.
Waiting for Njugush and Mamito with a sketch of switching on a generator 😂
Wise man
mr. Minister we are waiting for you to come to NEP. Remember your words when you were appointed.keep you word.
If we were a serious country, we'd have a qualified engineer as the CS for transport
Totally agree with you.. The time for awarding stooges in critical positions is over.
Ndu please let the man speak! The CS's understanding of systemic problems is encouraging, but they need to work on fixing these underlying issues before end of their term
If incompetency is a person
Building cattle tracks for highway price.
This government just has failures. So many excess baggages. From generators at JKIA to Failure in KPLC and importantly lack of printing papers of passports in immigration and 1 year breakdown of passport printers.
Whats really working? Hospitals?
Education? Foreighn policy?
Uhuru has done excellent work, murgomen appreciating him
It should take 6 sec for gen to start and ATS to close.
Automatically because of load, the two generators should start, synchronize load.
This is not high engineering, only need qualified technicians .
Caleb Kositany, who was appointed 6 months ago by President Ruto as chairman of the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), tweeted some fake news regarding Uhuru Kenyatta, just a few weeks ago, a screenshot of a fake article by an international business journal. The quoted (American) journalist in the fake news, responded to the tweet saying "I hope that you don't run your airports this carelessly". Word.
Uhuru is an easy scapegoat for the clueless batch
Honestly the more I listened to him, I agree that Murkomen is Simply incompetent.
He does present a valid point and he's argued it well, the problem is the infrastructure to handle the load. So its not a questions of getting more power into the grid, but managing what's already in the the system. However his colleague Davis Chirchir is misleading and confusing Kenyans talking about a strained section of the grid then at the same time talking about power rationing and finally mentioning insufficient water in dams as problems
Chairman KAA Caleb Kositany
Conflict of interest. He must have been busy changing suits and Rolexes whilst the generators are not kicking. He naut be as well sached as HE DID With the MD
Hon. Kipchumba, initiate systems- thinking, dopoliticise manpower rectiiynent
The biggest weakness of KK government is the quality of CSs Ruto appointed. Apart from Kindiki, the rest are incompetent political friends of the President. Many people may not know it, but one reason why Kibaki did so well with the economy is the cabinet he had. He had Kivutha Kibwana, Anyang Nyongo, Mukhisa Kituyi, Raila Odinga, Amos Kimunya, John Michuki and many other Matiang'is in his cabinet. But the current cabinet is irreparably weak. Ruto needs a brand new cabinet.
Theres nothing like the sync was not successful. You simply turnoff KPLC and test that the gen can work!
114 president's have canceled there visits in Kenya 🇰🇪 for a period of 7 years. Imagine.
"The airport has been suffering"...how now? Just pure incompetence on the government side and Kenya airport authority.
There's a senator who knows the problem and it's not a laughing matter
Cheragai
If they had working UPS backed up by batteries installed to the emergency power the blackout wouldn't be noticied. Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds for emergency generator with a functioning ATS to take over... just saying
Its only in Kenya Airport where Generators are "Complex"
There is a serious management problem in the entire Energy sector. These shortfalls in mgt skills will show for quite some time.
Once said before, they joined the government. They were skinny like the needle, and now ? they put more wait cos they don't work.
The Question is straight then you beat around the bush and answer nothing.
I just learned how I will be avoiding some questions from my curious wife... I I I...will come back to that...
Then continue with my story, she will not remember her questions 😂😂😂
This has made my day
Just listening to these guys talk is draining
After this synchronisation, simulations should be carried out religiously.
im at airport today no power and power surge is frequent
He can’t fire anyone now because they wanted kalenjin nation so they can loot without interruption.
The guy is for sure clueless of his job bure kabisa
We have qualified engineers to do the job sir. We have many such generators in the country. Example Sotik tea company in sotik
tuseme power ninyingi due to people using less electricity hence the power overload ndio hii blackout. not an electrician but the power produced is not fully utilized
he changed his tune on Uhuru. another thing he omitted is the rumor that the blackouts are a pretext to smuggle something in or out..
The CS should be sacked himself
He's part of the untouchable
There was no need of firing an employee that wasn’t a solution. They need to find solutions and not resolutions
Where is Kenya Airports Authority in all these Problems?
No quality standards or testing or public procurement processes. Cowboys on the job.
You can't run an engineering docket with the highest bar qualification. They will never sync.
Just used the domestic flight terminal and it was chaotic. Screens showing wrong boarding gate, wrong printed boarding gate, delay of flight with no announcement, inconsistent and wrong announcement of changed gates and no one in charge to curb confusion. They can't even run the domestic terminal with just about 5 destinations. All I hear is excuses and scapegoating. You can feel the decline and lack of leadership. The country is going to the dogs.
Skills and knowledge plus profession are unsorted issues in GOK
Great interview, Faith cautiously restored.
Faith? You must be an idiot. This Kale needs to resign fullstop
How does a competent person look like? What qualifications one should have to be competent? Which tribe should you be born to be competent? Or what political party should you align to so as to be competent? I don't understand Kenyans.
Cherargei was very right... Kipchumba is complicating a small problem.. You don't need Kengen or kplc to sort out this problem.
😂😂😂😂from high school I attended you couldn't realize when light goes off generator used to kivk in immediately . Why not in jkia
The airport is not the only place that needs electricity - what about the hospitals' ICU and HDU? Businesses anchored on refrigeration services, domestic perishable items in fridges...lets stop pleasing a few visitors at the expense of the majority of Kenyans.
Can we know who is the technician in charge of putting on and off in the k p l c.We know we have 11 K V A, and 33 KVA and at no time do the 11 KVA get load to 33 K V A get. Even should loaded
Why don't they do stimulations as many times as possible after synchronization to reduce chances of failure?
we have a failed engineering department at the airport,i think being the son of the soil we don't need audits,task-force on a routine maintenance issue.kindly have a good predictive maintenance instead of reactive maintenance.
The only CS in this government praising the former regime.
If you cannot fix a generator, if you cannot fix a leaking roof, how will you fix the nations economy???
