    Interesting idea to get people started!
    Comment on the AWS based solution.
    There was no logging/monitoring provided in the solution. We can use the AWS provided ElasticSearch solution, but that is a bit expensive. It has one serious drawback with the limitations it places on using Kinesis Streams to push data into the system.
    Using the CloudWatch cron functionality you can trigger the Lambda's directly, no need for going via a queue. Lambda will scale out as load increases, unless you have a huge amount of crons to process, which I highly doubt.
    API Gateway also provides nice auth integration with Cognito so that you can add security at the API layer already.
    Keep up the great ideas!

    I was surprised to see the use of Spring Cloud Data Flow. It's really an amazing piece of technology, but I haven't seen it being used in any project ☹️
    Please comment if you know about projects using SCDF.

    • @TechPrimers
      @TechPrimers  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's similar to Apache Airflow. However SCDF uses Spring Batch + Spring Integration - a Spring based ecosystem replacement for Airflow.
      Generally speaking, we use Spring integration within microservices and Data flow for orchestrating the flow of data between microservices.
      Spring has evolved along with microservices evolution by creating new and new services under Spring CLoud services :)

    I skipped the cloud foundry solution mid-way through, since I'm not so familiar with it, but I did watch the AWS native solution, as I'm more familiar with Serverless....it seems so much simpler than the Cloud Foundry solution. Is that just due to the lack of observability? Or is it because the infrastructure complexities are abstracted away by AWS?

  • @kartikvaidyanathan1237
    @kartikvaidyanathan1237 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure it’s a good idea to make it serverless. The service needs to be available at all times. It will be expensive to host in on lambdas.

    Reg: Cloud foundry architecture, already ELK stack for logging but why he included Splunk.?

    • @TechPrimers
      @TechPrimers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its an OR. You can either use ELK or Splunk

    • @TechPrimers
      @TechPrimers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also splunk provides more features n is but costly

    • @adhithyansridhar7046
      @adhithyansridhar7046 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes Splunk is bit costly. Suggestion was to use ELK for test env, and splunk for prod env
