It's so easy, just disassemble your tv, have the tools to test the LEDs , know and have the correct parts to replace them the reassemble your tv! congratulations you now can basically work at a tv repair shop.

You don't need to test it with professional equipment. Does changing the picture settings correct the blue shift? Does it persist when connected to different sources with different cables? No? Then this is your problem. There's a lot of TV's with this problem. I see them in banks, doctor's offices. For 20 bucks in tools there's thousands in work for someone to go out there and get, and this guy showed you how. Not easy enough for you? Then don't work on electronics. This repair was easy. TV's are not meant to be worked on by the faint of heart. Maybe he should have called it easy REPAIR. But I wonder if that's a language difference or a failure of Google translate. Try not to be part of world suck.

Thanks I rate the difficulty hard as the LCD parts is very delicate and try not press the white LCD plastic but this video help me save my 2015 TV thanks sir the back was hard to take out and the black frame 30 pound backlight saved my TV to useable with some finger prints if look closely thank you for the video 😊 Hope one day they make a TV easier to change backlight and make sure to get the same model tv

Right so he changed the leds ,but what I'd like to know why the original ones started emmiting blue light ? And now I know why this has happened ,a little bit if research and all has become clear.
It’s because some TVs are just cheaply made and they take blue LEDs and they paint them with a yellow filter but after time the yellow filter chips off and that’s why they start glowing blue

Hi lad, I got a great set of LEDs of eBay...a skip find flashing screen lg. I pulled out old burnt out leds and replaced..bingo all going. Rember to turn down brightness from 100% ..this is why they fail. LG should cover the tv under EU law..I will be contacting them next time !

For anyone who doesn't know, these LEDs are often made by a third party and then sold to tv manufacturers. One of them sucks, I shall not name them. So one bad supplier and you have this problem across multiple makes and models.
OK so before you put it back together... test it with a live source or Firestick or something.... I got mine back together and must have the defusers the wrong way round... I've got odd diamond shapes everywhere....
@@akoj3262 I took a chance and picked up genuine but second hand strips from eBay. I got lucky and it worked. There's usually some around because some people break the screens but the LEDs are still good. As they were genuine I didn't need anything else.

Have you worked on TV's before? Other electronics? Are you aware of the dangers to yourself and the possibility of cracking your screen? He didn't talk because if you're at the level of repair you can follow it. And also, he probably doesn't want the downvotes for speaking his native language.
I have an LG 49uh603v, and the screen is not blue all the time, but flickers, sometimes it's a normal picture, sometimes it's blue. Does my TV also have a backlight problem?
OK So answer my own question... lots of prying with prying tools does get you there eventually... However describing this as 'easy' fixing method and then taking everything apart and then cutting old leds off and soldering new leds on - that's not easy!
So if you've decided to go with genuine LG LEDs rather than aftermarket and therefore want to keep the little connectors rather than soldering the wires... you might have a job pulling the connectors off if like me you've never done this before. Note.... you need to pull them UP away from the chassis at the same time as pressing down on the clip - not left away from the LED's. Also don't try needle nose pliers on them as I did - it breaks the clips!
Outside repair will likely cost you half the price of a new set, if it's a low end 45 like what he's working on. If you have something special, it's well worth getting those cheaply made LEDs replaced with better ones. Otherwise all we can do is gripe loud enough that the tv manufacturers know we lost faith in them due to their choice of third party supplier.
@@-8_8- i bought a direct replacement kit for about $45 shipped off aliexpress, arrived in 1 week which was crazy fast to canada. Running a few months already and no issues with the leds. Original LEDs failed on a 43" tv after about 13,000 hours of run time. All looks good as new now. Its a very delicate repair where you are taking apart the entire tv screen basically so lots of risk.

ok we get it, leds age and then turn blue / purple ... thats the real take away. But why did he use the incorrect replacement LED strips ? lol ... now ith as a dead spot were the old holes were. Kind of a silly repair and shows you how some repair places can fix your tv. Order the correct part, and everything will line up.

I did this twice. First time the screen was completely black, went through the whole process of opening it up, removing everything carefully and replacing the dead LED strips with new ones. It worked well. Second time, smaller screen, same model, I opened it up to replace the LED strip and the screen got a hairline crack. That was it. Ruined completely 😕 Much as I hate to admit it, sell it to a scrap dealer and just buy a new tv. It's fooking expensive but you really don't need the hassle.
So don’t buy LG and don’t buy sharp either . Mine went blue , just like this pos. 2 yrs old . Sharp 55”, Walmart Black Friday special went south . Sharp offered ah 0 👌 solution to my problem . It is still watchable but that nice pic it had is gone , tried resetting . Messed with expert setting s to get it watchable but the bluish background is still there
