The speleologists (cave freaks) within your subscriber base will lap this episode up. I always find it handy to bring a little bottle of HCL (hydrochloric acid) with me when traversing karst topography and limestone caves, just to test for the presence of carbonate Drop some acid on it and watch it fizz! (release carbon dioxide gas). It also keeps babies and young children entertained. There truly is a great diversity of landscapes in China. I think this aspect about the country is somewhat overlooked. There's stuff there unlike anywhere else.
I watched the documentary reported how the engineers built the metro in karst cave geology in Guangdong city, China that's the most difficult construction.

But the real hero is Jiao, who was leading with a good pace in front, while carrying the growing weight of Lincoln through those tunnels. She’s a strong, nimble-footed, fearless woman! I salute her!

We visited one of these caves in Guizhou in our younger days. Need a lot of stamina and courage. We travelled up a mountain (if I remember it correctly) which has a lake. Took a manually paddle boat into a small entrance at the side of the mountain on the lake. It was pitch dark and only one boat could enter at a time. Once in the water cave, it was like fairy land with lit up coloured stalagtides and stalagmites of all shapes and sizes at both sides and above. It was quite scary at the same time because, touch wood, if any one fell into the water it would be disaster as the water was so dark. The light just automatically switched off after we covered a section of a couple of meters as the boat proceeded forward. That was an experience that we will never forget.

This increases political support for feeding more money into the military industrial complex. We have censorship and so many things we can be jailed for saying, but we pretend we don't. We're allowed to protest against our leaders and the establishment because this perpetuates the illusion of absolute freedom, which ultimately makes the establishment stronger. Unfortunately, the individualist attitude of superiority and entitlement carries over into foreign policy. Anyway, I mostly agree with you, except the part where none of us in the US can ever understand.
