An mk4 TT water pump WILL fit a 2jz-gte vvti. I bought the AISIN water pump for the mk4 93-98 toyota supra and it is identical to my 2jz-gte vvti water pump. Hopefully people do more research instead of paying much more for a brand new jzs161 water pump. Some 2jz-ge engines will have 11, but i'm pretty sure all 2jz-gte will have 10.
Christopher I second this. It worked on mine. The TT usdm was the same as the aristo 2jzgte vvti. Only difference was the clutch fan. Aristo comes with a spacer plate since it doesn’t use it.
Aisin is the same company making the water pump for the 2jz as well as some transmissions. Your waterpump is not thats why it didnt fit. Like you, I usually only buy the front half off ebay for just ~$65 and not having to get ripped off from toyota dealers
Good explanation, your right the details are small. I noticed this too when trying to order a new pump. Luckily I have a 93 GS300, I didn't have to try getting the newer model water pumps.
I should replace the timing belt on my 1st gen aristo 2jz-gte. So can I get a water pump assembly somewhere or am I gonna just change the timing belt and tensioner etc?
I had a similar issue about 2years ago. And I had the exact same issue with the pulley so I had to order the Supra pulley but I order a newer model than a 94
Hi I replaced the water pump houseing not the whole pump and it came with the gasket and just a o ring I don’t no what the o ring was for I didn’t see how it will go anywhere only on the houseing do you know by any chance where it goes ??
Which water pump would I need for a 2JZ-GTE VVTi out of a JDM Suprra '98?

UHHH YODIE GANGG
Should just look in Canada There’s a few companies selling everything for the Aristos. And the 2jzgte ect.

Thanks, great explanation of this hard to find info.
Can't you replace the pulley of the smaller water pump with the bigger one? do they have the same " center axle" diameter?
I'm not sure, it's probably possible if you got creative but I wanted to keep everything OEM as possible to keep it reliable.
Super helpful, thanks!
glad the vid helped!

@@jaymarleno8958 Either on the pipe that connects the waterneck to the pump or between the back housing and the block
Robin K. No the side where the pully is underneath is a hose on the pump and it’s leaking like crazy I just changed it for the same problem
