There is a significant difference, still most movies get shown at 24 fps instead of 60 fps, even though 60 fps looks much smoother.

Tho' PC looks undoubtedly better, PS4 holds it pretty well. And, at the end of the day, the only difference that really matters to me is framerate.
Perhaps, but the PS4 has a lot more blur. Not to mention we are watching this on a compressed TH-cam video. If you have played on a very sharp and detailed games provided by a good PC specs, combined with the Nvidia sharpening filter, you'll never go back.

I already tested, i choose 1000x play on 4k oled tv intead 144hz monitor. For non competitive games dolby vision with ultra quality is much beatiful, no comparison.
According to digital foundry... Red dead redemption 2 was made for the base ps4 in mind... Most of the games now a days are made for the console in mind including watchdog 2 and legion, ac Odyssey to origins all ubisoft games.. Gta 5 almost all triple a games are made for the current gen console.. Port version is the pc.. I had a feeling that death stranding will be the worst port on pc..

Ps4 pro is upscaled, not native 4k.
3:58 the clarity and detail you see is based on time of day. The console screenshot is taken around 9am and the PC screenshot is taken after 2pm. Makes a huge difference. Go there in person and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

@@fahralyacoub8970 no lol PS4 Pro also uses a higher resolution texture pack and also has higher draw distance along with checherboarded 4k and a more stable 30fps(Locked 30fps with 0 drops when in 1080p mode)

@@Dagger_323 It is a locked 30fps with 0 drops when 1080p is forced on PS4 Pro whereas on the Xbox one X slight drops are possible since it's at Native 4k. Ofcourse when PS4 Pro is also rendering the game at 4k, Xbox one X has the higher framerate. But at 1080p mode PS4 Pro frame rates are more stable.

Someone tells me that he own ps4pro but evenwith the console settings (as mentioned in recent digital foundry video) it's still clearer on PC than the ps4pro let alone ultra settings (also i want to point out that console settings in digital foundry used was from xbox one x)
godslim Frames is the biggest difference.
Fucking massive improvements especially in lighting, texture and ambient occlusion.
Both look great, just PC images are far crisper (resolution/fine detail) and FPS will generally be higher depending on your graphics card etc. But you really would have to be looking for differences in game to notice most differences

So they have to make their profit upfront, thus the basic hardware - the "Gaming PC" - is usually more expensive. Also we have to realize that "PC gaming" is judged to a different standard than console gaming.

Yes, it looks fantastic on PC and with certain graphics mods, it looks breathtaking. Still, have to say that this game looks amazing on console. A new standard for open world games. Usually you would expect this kind of detail in a linear single player game, but open world and looking this good.
Gotta love the people that complained about that this game was ''too realistic'' and that the animation where to ''detailed''. I remember when we pushed for that in games and now that we have it, people want to go back to how it was in GTA 3 times. smh

Best comparison i have seen from this game so far. You can really see how sharp and how much better the LOD is on PC. PS4 PRO still looks good, but to be honest this is almost like comparing the PS3 VS the PS4 version of GTA5.
Same with ps5.i sold mi ps5 for a PC. Ps5 is fake 4k upscaled sht u can never compare to real 4 k on a TV screen maybe on a Tiny monitor

The PS4 Pro does very well. A cheap console performing this well is a surprise. But PC has so many more options, I always have to go with PC. The contrast and saturation is naturally better and deeper also (on PC).

The new PS5 and Series X are good competitors to a PC, we all know PC is always superior in graphics, but these consoles will contend well, specially when it comes to exclusives, as that’s a large selling point. In terms of comparing fucking mobile phones to consoles is a joke, the latest iPhone and Samsung can only play a downgraded version of black ops 1, meaning they still haven’t reached PS3 and 360 level, so I don’t see the comparison of mobile to consoles.

Whichever one is on the left is the one that I prefer. I like the blur of the depth instead of the aliased look. I don't like to see the image etched into my screen.

yeah PC looks better and has better FPS... But the jump between PC & console isn't as HUGE as when Crysis was first released - Crysis would melt a console at the time.
Plus when the game is in motion the visual differences are even harder to spot.
I disagree with the last statement. I came from the Xbox One X, which runs the game better than PS4, and I still notice the difference in fidelity even when moving full speed on horseback. Plus lighting is massively improved on PC, particularly at night with the moon lighting and the lights in towns cast from street lamps and store windows.
I really hope that Rockstar will release an 60 fps-upgrade to Rdr2 on next gen consoles. Might not be possible at 4k,but 1080-1440p 60 should be possible right? Dont care much for 4k as long as the texture quality is decent from the beginning, which is The case with rdr 2.

You know: PS4, PS5 or PC... They all look good. PC can take graphics the highest for sure, but it's the high frame rate that really does it for me. I'd take low graphics 120fps over High graphics 30fps any day of the week. It's just MUCH nicer.

The pc version has higher draw distance more detaled shadows and higher resolution textures , also the water physics are much more realistic , but iam still surprised by the imagequality coming from ps4 , its doing good despite its hardware

I can understand the attraction to consoles even for people who build pcs. It's simple, cheaper, and no hassle regarding compatibility and builds/updating builds. Console you just buy, then sell and buy upgraded one in the future. I need personal control, fps, mouse and keyboard. Playing on something you put together yourself that provides better quality just overall is a better experience.

right side you can tell its more smooth during the horse riding scene and the picture has a lot more clarity,
Left side has a lot of motion blur during the horse riding footage (I assume its 30 fps) and it appears to have some vaseline rubbed in during static image making it at least 50% blurrier.
Also at 3:43 you can see the carriage tread extends further on the right side so the left side has lower draw distance for some effects.
3:59 to 4:01 I notice a transition to stronger shadows among the trees. The creek area has more details as well at 4:01 mark.
It might just be the time of day though influencing the shadows not really sure. It does seem apparent that the left side has a bit of haze making areas further out less detailed.
There is a lot of little details that are superior overall on the right side.
Do you have this game on console or PC? The 3:58 images were taken at different times which is why the shadows are different and details always come out later in the day. Whichever version you have go to that location at 8am and stay there until 5pm. You’ll see both these screenshots on both console and PC (left side will be seen around 9am, right side will be seen around 2pm). I went there on my XB1 and I was shocked to see the same amount of detail and clarity at 2pm that I thought could only be seen on PC.

Considering the PS4 pro is 1/3 of the price of what the PC system needs to be running it on max settings with decent enough frames, i say the winner easily goes to PS4. And when PS5 comes next year, the PS5 will give the same graphics as a $1500 PC for the measly price of 500 bucks.
it's a night and day difference, but depending on how much you earn, 1200 euro's for the 2080 Ti could be worth it.
If you earn 3-4k a month, you can ezily miss it, so i would get a 2080 Ti in that case.
But if you earn 1200 a month, i would think again.....
A computer is also just a more reliable and multifunctional unit than a console.
That, and including free online and a custom framerate, makes it out of the question i ever move to console gaming.

PS4 pro that I have was around 370 euros at the time of the purchase with one game included, PC that I use to play this game on ultra with 1440p around 45-50 fps was around 1700 euros. If its worth the money go for it, I think its not.

Having played the game intially on a base PS4, let me tell you that its quite a huge bump to the PC version. The PS4 version really does look like a last gen game compared to the PS version. The lighting is in my opinion the biggest upgrade and then secondly the details and the resolution bump and then of course 75fps is tonnes better than 30fps. Here I go again probably going to have to sink another 120 hours replaying this masterpiece in its ultimate form, with basically maxed graphics in 4k, with my RTX 3080 on the gorgeous LG C1.
That would be my dream come true. Been playing it almost since launch on ps4 and getting a gaming pc just so i can finally enjoy it like its a remaster ^^
400 € £ $ console against a 1500 € gaming PC I prefer to buy a 65inch 4k TV for the difference of 1100 € $ £.

Bar the extra effects you get on the Pc, it's the true 4k with high textures that really separate the two versions. In all fairness though they did a dam good job on the Ps4 pro version, no resource was left unused running this game. Great video I'm sure this took time and patience, thanks for the upload
On PS4 Pro it's 1920x2160. Only Xbox 1 X is native 4K. The normal PS4 is 1080p

My objective opinion is that the differences are not that big, the game looks gorgeous on both sides.
I watched some benchmarks and the rx580 who runs this at 40 fps at 1440p (not 4k) only the gpu alone costs in my country 300$. A capable pc with that gpu will be like 700-800$. a console is like what 300-400?
After 3 months of research and still cannot convince myself to put 1k$ or more in a pc rather than 400$ on a console...

Maybe you don't know what to look for, because if you have good vision then I honestly don't know how you don't see the gap. Keep in mind that the price of a high end PC is justified not only because it allows you to play RDR2 at 4k high/ultra with decent fps. You can do so much more with a PC than a console. That's why all the price/perf or "PC is good but not worth it" comments are stupid to me. You're not building a high end PC solely for RDR2 or even video games for that matter.

Ps4 PRO costs around 350$ and this PC is around 3-4k, so, if you look at it, not much of a difference, it`s obvious that it will look better if it has a graphic card that costs like 3 ps pro`s, but still, much more economic to buy a game and a ps4 rather than spend so much cash, if something dies on that pc you literally die with it
No you don't you remove it and and get a new one with warranty. This video is not about value it is about what is better. You can spend all you want on as many ps4 pros but the game will always look the same. At the end of the day it is just a console, this is a PC which can do anything

I'm playing this on a 2080ti i7 9700k @ 5ghz with almost everything on max settings 3440 x 1440, 60fps and it's easily the most beautiful game I've ever played. Absolutely jaw dropping stuff.

there aren't just some differences, when you switch device it looks like the whole game changes! (I am a game developer) the biggest differences are in GI (Global Illumination), LOD of trees and grass (Level Of Detail), the rendered distance of the shadows, the textures' resolution, the AA (anti-aliasing) and the AO (ambiental Occlusion). And everybody here can notice the difference between 30 and 60fps, and the resolution of the screen. Console Gamers, there is no chance for you to beat us

Playstation is objectively the worst experience for RDR2 at this point. Xbox One X is the best experience on console due to it running the game in true 4K, although aside from resolution it graphically still has the same fidelity as the PS4. When run on PC at max settings the game looks noticeably sharper and has greater contrast and overall fidelity.

I have a rtx 3080 and I’ve played red dead 2 on my Xbox one x, in a lot of ways the game looked better than it did on my pc. I can run most games maxed out and hit around 120 fps. I can run red dead on ultra 1440p upscaled 1.75x and get 60-90 fps and i got to say the only part that looks better than the Xbox were the water physics and the fps. The shadows, textures, and pop ins were very strange on the pc compared to the Xbox one x. It was very off putting. Another large difference between the two were the colors. HDR really gives this game a boost in its visuals. I also found it strange how the hair looked better on console.
The PC people its the worst in gaming community, just enjoy the game (you not have the first one).
For the price, consoles makes the work with a very good quality (just put the CD and play)
