It is like they used the last sagas to introduce new chars and new transformation to lead to something huge, yes. I didn't mention it, but even Merus is still around.
It actually makes sense if cooler be canon , i mean with who does frieza training in the time chamber?
Also as mentioned, we have now many good guys with new powerful transformations, it would be strange for Frieza to be alone against them.
if they do bring coolor back he dont need a golden or black form he need his own unique form
It would be really cool if they invent a new form for him performing a different path.
