The notches do not line up like that. Check the video of the way they where in there before you pulled them out. You now have one facing the wrong way. In order to get the flow arrows to point the same direction, you need to flip one over. The way you did it your flow arrows are facing opposite directions.
I have an 03 Frontier and have been thinking about doing this...so I call the local Nissan dealer yesterday to see if they had the part..and the parts guy tells me my truck doesn't even have one. Is he just stupid or my 03 really doesn't have one? It's am 03 Desert Runner.
It is possible that your model does not have the filter. The best way to tell is to remove the glove box and look in the middle for the clips. There are some videos out there for people who have cut the blower motor housing to put in the filter. It is my understanding that there is an outline of where the filter should go, but I personally have never seen it.
I see in numerous catalogs the filter that it should take. ..and my dealers employees aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. Guess I should look for myself. Thanks
@@Monica-vc3tu Well mine had none...took the glove box out and checked....maybe cuz it was a base model desert runner..an XE....the higher model trims did have them.
Just got a 2002 frontier. I must have a different model. I took mine off and no slots for filters. I will have to take the whole housing off. It is in 2 pieces. I got some of the screws out and pulled it open a little and it looked like one big filter. Seems like a pain in the ass just to get to a filter. Didnt have time to deal with it yet.
Same here. No clip, no slots. Peered inside with a screwdriver prying open the housing and said meh, never mind. I don't think this was made to be changed in this model. Oh well!
Hey my truck doesn’t even have filters there a plastic piece there what do I do at that point some told me it doesn’t need a filter and others tell me to break it off do you know what I should do
Ok just got a surprise in my 2000 Nissan Frontier. Turns out it's a sealed unit. Where the clips would be it's all one continuous smooth piece of plastic shielding. So ... guess I'm done.
From what I read on the web, in your model year you have to actually cut the slot for the filters. Let me check my shop manual and see if it gives any details.
Most of the stuff is easy to work on the 2.4 liter engine but the starter is a nightmare and the thermostat not really that hard justgot to remove a lot of shit to get to it
My 2001 seems to have a different box, with no slide out filters...total PITA. Apparent;ly you have to pull seven screws to open this ...safe, but you can only see five, and there's no damn mention of its installation in the manual. I could see my filthy old filters but could NOT get them out. burned a sweaty hour and got NOTHING done.
Looks like you have to cut the slots out on some models and mine is the same way. Found a video to do it. th-cam.com/video/W5HMWHopY2w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XGriL6eQLvCofDUx
Sorry for the delayed response, we have been getting ready for hurricane Michael. Awesome, I am glade you were able to locate the filter location and get some new ones in. Too bad someone before you removed them and did not replace them. Have a nice day.
Thank you for this video, because I had no idea how to change the Cabin Filter. Again thank you!
Thanks so much! I didn't even realize I could get my glove box out. This will help me with another project!
Thank you for the comment. Best of luck to you.
Thank you! Saved me the hassle of looking for it myself 😅
Glad it worked out for you!
Truly thank you, I tried to do it myself. Sadly I didn't take off the entire glove box housing.
Glad it helped
VERY HELPFUL !! I have a Nissan Frontier which is similar to Xterra. Thanks and keep up the good work 👍🏼. You have my like!!

I removed the glove box and from the video where they are supposed to be, there is no clip and no filters !
Mike Brewer according to CarGurus a 2003 Nissan Frontier has a double filtration system. There are two cabin air filters.

Can you post a picture of what your box looks like?
Yes...as soon as I figure out how to put a pic on youtube..
how do you turn on the stereo?
Push the knob on the left
why isnt the rest of the car that easy to work on?
I agree.

Thank you for the reply.
Crew cab has them. Extended cab does not
My 2002 frontier has no in cabin air filter!!!
Yes, that can be the case depending on which model.
Took mine out and there wasn’t even one installed :o
Are you the only owner? It could be someone took it out in the past and just did not want to put a new one in. I remember these use to be expensive.
Razor Bucks no I’m the 3rd owner it’s about to have 200K miles but I’m gonna go buy one and install one 👍

Razor Bucks no worries thank you for the video!! And I wish for you and your family’s safety.
