This is exactly what I was looking for, a simple straightforward version by a lone piper. I think of both my grand father and my father, who both served in two wars. My grand father, on my mother's side, served in WWI and WWII. He saw action in '15 at Ypres during the gas attack My father saw action in the Scheldt campaign and would never talk about it. He also served throughout the Korean War, again something he wouldn't talk about.
Both are gone now. Dick, some 50 years ago but still standing out in my memory. Dad died in '10, aged 85, yup he signed up young. He said it was better than starving, as he had been kicked out of home by his step father. Times were hard.
thanks to whoever the person is who chose this video to upload. Thanks to the Piper, Cpl Timothy Reid, you play this very well. Thanks to the videographer for a nice close shot where we can all watch the fingers and elbow actions of the playing. Thanks to the CAF for allowing this to be shared with the world.
    Signed
    A proud Canadian.

Visited the Canadian cemetery/memorial at Vimy Ridge. Heart breaking and inspiring in equal measure. The memorial is truly epic. Visit if you can.

A small and young nation answered the call. Have also visited the Vimy Ridge Memorial.

A lone Scot piper stood out overlooking the port of Southampton playing the Lament as 63 British lads returned home one final time.
They gave their life so those on the Falklands could be free to be who they are.
The British will defend the Falklands, even if it means more blood is soaked in the soil. As far as I am concerned, the Falklands was on the map long before Argentina was.

Where is the reverb coming from in the audio? Very well performed regardless.

Why is he being called Cpl if he is wearing pipe majors badges which is an appointment which overrides being called by standard CF rank? Unless things have changed, you only wear your PM or DM badges if you hold or have held the positions, or is it now you can wear them for a certain period before taking up the position if you passed the DM or PM course?

There is no official answer or documentation, but I've noticed across the CAF that members generally have strayed away from using their appointment titles (i.e sergeant-major, PM/DM) first and appending them to their formal rank...notwithstanding the "appointment" of MCpl...Purely anecdotal of course, but seeing as this is a officially sanctioned video its likely for simplicity for the general viewer.
