Great looking birds, very healthy looking. They bring back memories! I don’t have any, but when I was 16, I was youngest member in Louisville RP club. We had 40 something members in those days. What I’m seeing clubs aren’t as big now. Was a member several years till life got in the way. Lol 67 and retire now. Your videos get me to thinking! Good luck with them YB’s . I’m sure you’ll do well.
Thanks Henry, I'm glad you enjoy seeing the pigeons. They somehow get in your blood after a while and I wouldn't want to be without them now! The club I am going to join doesn't have very many members probably less than ten and they are real old fliers so I don't know what this sport will look like in the future but I will still have the birds. 👍

hi rocky ridge, I have 16 Huyskens Van Riel myself, really looking forward to racing them, only got them this year and some last year,I am in the UK, so hope to see you doing well with them,

Hvr are our main bloodline. My father has been an advocate of that strain since the 70s. They cross well on lots of other lines.

@@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons hey, just another word of advise, you only need to let those young birds settle for 7-10 days and then open the door for them 2-4 hours before dark. they'll get out walk around and maybe fly for a bit and return before night. If you wait two weeks they might get too strong on the wing and take off too fast too far and won't know how to return. That's what i was told when i first started, and it worked well. There was times when i waited too long and the birds took off and and kept flying and flying higher and higher and eventually just disappeared. But it's up to you, you do as you wish with your own birds. goodluck 👍

They are not too bad at racing but The traditional colors seem to do better
New birds looking great! Hood luck with them. Yes shipping cost is ridiculous. Just got 7 breeding pairs shipped to me from WA-CA and paid over 300 and to top it off it took them almost 3 days to arrive. Good luck bro

I will do my best to cover all that if I fly them but lately I have been having second thoughts about flying them because they are worth to much and I need to make sure I don't lose any before breeding season. @@irishtomo1229 I never raced before but will be getting into it real soon. This line of pigeons are doing very well for others and I can't wait to get into it. They are bred for 300 miles.
@@Rocky.Ridge.Pigeons Man over here in ireland we race pigeon and the most they fly is 75miles and they need to be fast to win over here in ireland we have lot good fellas and its not easy to win at all we have a one loft race some time s if u want any tips Just let me no Man

U rollin now Mike. U got a hold of some great bloodlines there. Now u get to study all that they do don't will & won't. I wouldn't dare attempt to train em that's just me though. I'd breed em next year & train their young. All the hassle of shipping that's went THROUGH THE ROOF the money spent for that family then possibly get hit by the falcon, or them gettin lost...NOPE. The hawks & Falcons start to show up more in mid August. But like I said that's just me. Enjoy em, they look good. Glad u got rid of the feral birds 👍🏾

ME & one of my best friends just paid around $9000.00 buying birds from over in England, & Germany, never in A MILLION years would we let those birds out we paid for. Breed em & u have young EVERYWHERE. It only makes sense Mike, don't let those birds out man. I've had birds since 1975. One year will fly by Mike, in 6 to 7 months u can start breeding em. Don't do sumthin you'll regret, u spent to much money to just wanna see them fly & feed the bop man

I noticed that your loft paint is almost the same color as mine. I notice that I have seen several channels with lofts about the same color. I was wondering if there is any reason you picked that color. Mine was kinda by accident as I was trying to match my house brick, but it came out a lot more orange than what I was wanting. But I love it now.
I really don't think the color matters. I just happened to pick that because it kinda fits in around here and like you I was just trying to find something that fits in. Thanks for watching! 👍 ✌️
Haha! I didnt know if there was scientific evidence that pigeons see orange better or not. I know the military has trained pigeons to see Life rafts which are often Orange. Where are you located?

I have a plank in their that I can walk on and I shut the sliding door so they can’t go to the outside part

Wanting to do the mesh on the floor but would it smell after the droppings ??
No it never smells, This is the main reason I use it and to keep the dust down. Just a light scraping once a month is all you need.
Rocky Ridge Kennel & Loft all I have is a shed 3x3 and floor is ply and vynal and scraping every second day .. I was thinking of making something like that .. but I have over 50 birds
@@djshmik I'm sure you will make a real nice loft. Just take your time and do it right! The birds will be much happier with the mesh floor but if it gets below freezing where you are you might want to put something over the floor for the cold months so keep that in mind for your design and it will work fine.
What is your food routine for pigeons??
Right now I feed twice a day for a combined total of 1.5 tablespoons each bird. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

Start open them all up. They are getting too big, mature. If you over hold them you might loose some. These are very nice birds. That's the team to fly.

Am not a big fan of colored racers...am just all about the white but from this flock the blue bar with the white Flights is my favorite so that's the one I got my eyes on....thanks for sharing them Mike, enjoyed those whites Flying. That cartridge as a whistle is smart😄

hi i am your new subscriber. i race pigeons in bangkok thailand. we have raced north, south and northeast. each of route is race for 3 months and the longest distance is 450 miles. the way back home is quite tough because they must fly across sea and moutain. therefore, the old bloodline of pigeons is better than new gen such as, jansen, houben and koopman. the climate here is about 35-38 c and sometime 40-42 c on the race day. i do not know u have young birds for sale or not . i mean the young birds that be the good breeder not for race. if u have, please give me the price. many thanks.
