What a sweet voice she has! When I was first married, my mother-in-law (a German Christian woman) would have a party every Christmas Eve for her friends. It was at her home that I first met holocaust survivors. She had grown up in West Germany and her best friend, who was Jewish, was lost to her when the wall was built. She never saw her again, but most of her friends at the parties were concentration camp survivors. I loved seeing them.
Even after we divorced, my son and I were always welcomed to this yearly event (her son was not) and I cherish the memories of these wonderful people.
One man would just sit there, nodding and smiling...then tears would flow from his eyes. He carried some trauma deep inside, but never spoke of it. One summer, my son & I went to her lake house. She had taken this man there so he could be out in nature.
I was surprised when he took my hand, smiled a big smile and started speaking in German. I'd never heard his voice in all the time I'd known him. She translated that he was very glad to see me again. Then he just sat there patting my hand for several minutes before going outside. She said that the lake always soothed the torment in his soul. I'll never forget him, nor the others who accepted me, a loud-mouth Texas divorcee, into their "family". She had so much love for her friends that they were like her family.
Even though she was no longer my mom-in-law, she called me two weeks before she died, telling me she loved me and thanked me for being her true friend. It was seeing her love for these strong, beautiful survivors, that turned her from just being my ex-mother-in-law to being a dear friend.
I have felt a deep love for Israel and the Jewish people from that first party. I have a hard time holding it together when I hear about the ones who say that the holocaust is a "myth" , that it never happened. I saw the numbers on the forearms of these precious people! I saw the torment in the eyes of that gentle man! I will stand for Israel and her people all my days!
I have read all of the Corrie Ten Boom books. I have watched every video she was in that I could find. Please, please, do yourself a favor and read her books. An amazing woman of God!

    Amen
It is the desire of my heart to be the woman God created me to be.
I want people to see God's love , his grace and mercy and his forgiveness.
She is what I want to grow up to be like and I will be 70 in two months.
God bless her and keep her safe and healthy.
    What a testimony.
Give people eyes to see and ears to hear.

Texans understand need for security among Israelis. Yaweh our father loves all of us, Jews and Christians whether Muslims believe or not. Hopefully some will learn.

What is the best way to help the Jewish people in Israel? How do you send what they need?
