One of my favorites is the Hogue Deka...Used to EDC a Bugout, but tried a Deka for a few days and now Bugout just sits on shelf for most of the time. Deka is smooth as glass and I find blade to be much more useful.
100% agree with you on the Manix 2. I love my Manix 2's! I replaced both of the ball cages with titanium. Way better! Flytanium just made aluminum ones now! Now, I need more Manix 2"s. Especially the XL! The TRM Shadow is the best one for sure!!! The Hogue Deka is a close 2nd for me too!
Yeah i gave away my hogue rsk to one of the patrons, but a damn good knife i need to get more hogues on the channel for sure, i wish they would make or put out more xl they seem to be very popular
I can recommend everyone to take a look at the Sitivien "Axis Lock" style knives. The ST109 and ST110 are very nice knives with ergonomic shaped micarta scales and a very nice drop point edc blade shape in D2 steel. The thumb studs and lock buttons were pokey at first, but after a few hours in use, they rounded up nicely somehow. Both come at the moment for around 30$ and feel solid made. Not the best looking or grippy micarta, but decent enough for carry. Ordered myself 2 replacements in case I break' em. As always a very nice list from Jerad. Always on point, always critical, always entertaining.
100% agree. I have the ST110 in Green and Black Micarta. Has a better crossbar lock than my bugout or my ganzos. Even smooth when using a single side to actuate the lock and the size and shape make it easy to fit the palm when actuating. Wish it had ceramic bearings, but I'd be scared the action wouldn't be as good. It's scary smooth.
I really like my Ganzo knives, but will admit that they are hit or miss as far as movement. My favorite is the F7611, I love the washers over bearings if they move well. I have the one you showed as well as probably 20 others, and I like them all.
Just got my first ganzo, they realy do live up to the hype,no idea how they can make a knife like this for 23 GBP,Without doubt the best value for money knife ive ever bought
You realize that your number 1 pick unless you have a channel with over 5K subs is for all intents and purposes impossible to get. The Atom and Nutron which have been out much longer are very hard to get. This new TRM Shadow I agree may be the best but nearly impossible to get. I would love to get one but will probably be looking at at least a year or 2 before I manage to get one. That knife can take a beating and turn around and say is that all you got. Great video. I have the Manix XL and it has me wanting to try a G10 Manix and depending on that maybe the LW. Thanks for showing this.
Yeah i know its not easy to get right now, but i have to give them credit they are busting there ass to bring us 🇺🇸 made knives, hopefully more will be available soon
If you're interested I have an adam new in the box only opened for inspection. I was thinking about putting it up on Ebay but just haven't got around to it yet. I prefer the neutron in that it's a slightly smaller sized version of the Adam. LMK
I love my bugout in 20cv, I use my Diamond plates to sharpen and finish with my Dan’s Soft hard Arkansas combo . It’s the perfect EDC imho. ( I also just loosen the screw juuuuuuuuuussssssstt a bit and she’ll fold close for ya 😉)
The only mechanism that would make me carry a folder. I dream of The Carter from James Brand in green Micarta but they are sooo expensive for what they are. I guess the heart wants what it wants.
Thought the Anthem might have got a mention under this genre, seems to me it had the best Axis lock Benchmade produced.....no omega spring issues. but I'm sure its difficult to distil top 5 of anything let alone Axis 'style' lock knives
I like the looks of the TRM Shadow. You did not list it here, but I am loving my Terminus XR Lite, have you tried one yet? I carry it more than my bugout.
I own 3 of them. It seems that whenever I buy one, they come out with a better steel or a CF liners that barely weighs more than my bugout. On a side note, I bought the Orion Solaris after watching one of your videos and really love it.
Bearings definitely can get gritty easier than the washers from what I've heard. when clean they're a lot smoother but I would definitely go washers in the farm environment
@@NeevesKnives yea ive never been a fan of flytaniums 940 scales especially since u have to use their standoffs. I have ti scales from Rockscale Design and i love them. Looks great w my REK harpoon reblade 😁
Some of the info that's easily searched i dont mention, especially if its not a review, but you can always ask or give me a time stamp and il give you the info, but its really easy to do a search of the knife and get the prices
I understand Jarret but don't you think that while on any specific model conversation the viewers would like to at least know the prices? It's not your job to look stuff up for us but every detail helps.
@@jamesharris1493 absolutely and i try to give info as much as possible especially in reviews, in this case it was a top 5 so it has less info, and i try to record them around 10 min and still most people only watch about 3 min of the video because they fast forward, so im trying hard to make everyone happy and sometimes its just easier to say the name and let people look it up if there interested then they can watch the full review if they want but i know what your saying bud
No hogue doug Ritter?? Come on that able lock is smoother than melting butter. Never felt a TRM shadow and probably never will but come on I think hogue took it to another level with the deka and Ritter as far as ease/ smoothness of action.
I've had both I'd say the trm is slightly better but that's just imho, they are both incredible. At the time I filmed this I didn't have any hogues available or it would of been on 100%
@@NeevesKnives gotcha I kinda figured that might be the case. So yeah I don't think I'll be able to get my hands on a shadow I did manage to get an adam in cf and a neutron in titanium but I'm ready to let the adam go so I can get my hands on a demko ad20.5 but it has to be the 3v in frag style titanium which as you know isn't cheap. So the shadows action is that good hah. It looks like a solid knife I'm really digging the blade style and of course I already know that blade finish and grind must be excellent. The forward puncture point at the beginning of my adam and neutron are done with perfection , perfectly even, so much so that it brings the knife to an almost perfect needle like point which makes TRM knives exceptionally sharp at the tip.
One of my favorites is the Hogue Deka...Used to EDC a Bugout, but tried a Deka for a few days and now Bugout just sits on shelf for most of the time. Deka is smooth as glass and I find blade to be much more useful.
Yeah its kinda the better version rt
Deka in my pocket right now
I have the Nomad 2.0 and I absolutely love it. Super smooth and love the fact that it has full liners making it feel sturdy.

I love my sheepfoot large griptilian and my spyderco manix 2
Not even a mention of the Terminus XR? I realize you hate the pocket clip but that knife saved an entire company 😆
Absolutely!! I gave it away but it definitely deserves recognition
I’ve got 2! Best crossbar lock on the market for money!!
I just got one and it’s a hot mess. I would not recommend
@@michaelrossi3707 same here it felt like it was running on sand it was so gritty and action was absolutely awful

My beloved Bugout just had its first spring break. It's a good idea to have a more reliable button lock knife as a backup.
Good bunch of knives! I add the Ritter/Hogue and a Crooked River to that list. ✌️

Hogue Ritter RSK is by far the best axis lock knife I’ve ever used. Also looks like yet another excessively hyped TRM knife. :p
Yeah, and one ring to rule them all-the hogue doug ritter
I love the hogue Ritter so much i gave it away to one of the patreon, damn good knife
RITTER HOUGH R S K. .IT'S THE BEST. AXIS. STYLE OF. ALL .THANKS DOUG 😊 🙏 😊Ritter.
Yeah that ones also hard to beat
It’s not an Axis lock unless it’s from Oregon. Otherwise, it’s just a sparkling spring bar lock.
Congrats on your 7k man ! Love your work !! Hope you'll hit 10k soon !!
Thank you!

Which one would u say the 2.0 or the newer THE ASHER CENTRI 3.0, love the harpoon shaped blade just as much as the drop point

Lets talk about it in the live Mark 3 min
Nothing wrong with d2-retention is right in there, with s30v,154cm,it's just not that rust resistant
Yeah the problem is most companies aren't getting that kind of results from d2 because they ht them in large batches which d2 wasnt made for
That is for sure a 940 clone
Yea probably
I got the slate gray g10 TRM shadow . Like it so far
A griptillian over a 940? 🤔 No way in hell! Lol
😆 yeah i know, im probably just upset at my new flytanium scales they arent fitting good, im going to put my cf back on

Wheres the Asher nomad made in?
China the owners are in usa but source from china
Fck I though that you will review knives made on 5 axis milling machines xdd

It's a clone of a benchmade 810 contego.
No the contegos handle is way different and even larger, and beefier, its the shape of a 940 but in between the contego and 940 in size
