I found these at a nursery near me but found out that if you accidentally push the plugs thru the hole it will crack the basket at the top of that hole. Be careful. But it is kind of a neat pot.

They measure 35.5cm (14") in diameter. We now stock our improved version - the Bloom Around basket: www.thompson-morgan.com/p/bloomaround-hanging-basket/TKA1550TM

I have just purchased one of your baskets, complete with compost and very small plugs.
Your 'gates' are open, which a demonstrator elsewhere states are to allow air into the plants, but mine are solid. I am disappointed it comes with no instructions. Simple, you may say, but my late wife was the gardener - I'm the nitwit! For example, I assumed they would need a liner, but as you illustrate, this is not required. -- Jimmy

Further to the above, I have watched 6 other demonstrations and they ALL have open lattice 'gates' to allow the plants to breathe. Weird!

Hi Jimmy. Sorry to hearthat yours came without instructions. I will try to help you.
As you will see in the video, no liner is needed.
Regarding the gates - this video was recorded when we were supplying our basket with open gates to allow better drainage. However, customer feedback indicated that lattice gates were a little 'too effective', and actually resulted in the compost drying out too much between waterings. We responded to the feedback by doing some tests, and found that solid gates were actually better. Therefore we ammended the design to give you an improved product. In every other aspect, the design is the same.
Turning to the plug plants, the ones shown in the video are garden ready plants - much bigger, and ready to plant out straight away. I suspect that your plugs are the traditional size plugs which are best potted into small 7cm pots for the time being and grown on in frost free conditions before transplanting into baskets.
I hope that this helps you. Feel free to contact us for any further advice.

Thank you for your exhaustive reply. I have already popped the plugs into small pots and am keeping them indoors for a wee while as I've no greenhouse in our wee garden. As for the solid gates, I understand.
