    Passierschein A38 is a meme in itself. There is a (in Europe) famous cartoon book series called "Asterix and Obelix" depicting the adventures of a very smart Gaulish guy named Asterix and his very strong but not as intelligent friend Obelix and their village that is the only one resenting the Roman occupation of Gallis during Julius Ceasar's time. There have been animated and live-action movies. In one of the animated movies, A and O have to escape an enormous administrative building. To do this they need a pass form A38.

    On the 30m crane meme:
    The guy on the right is a well know krane driver. He got known for his rage about Krane Safty in a documentary. Just lookup: "Kranplätze müssen verdichtet sein" which translates to: "crane spots/places needs to be condensed"
    Moin is the northern equivalent to Servus. Because of Tourism advertisment many Tourists say Moin Moin. But u are Supposed to say it once otherwise u are a "Quasselkopf"

    • @TheSylfaein
      @TheSylfaein ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Moin. The crane meme actually features 2 jokes:
      One is the marked sentence "Die Polizei weiß noch nicht, wie es dazu kommen konnte" (The police still don't know how that could have happened)
      after "Verletzt wurde niemand." (Nobody was injured). Meaning, the police don't know why nobody was injured by a falling crane.
      The second one was construction worker Ronny calling out the uncompressed earth where a crane had to put its support legs.

    Bauhauf - Wenn'f gut werden muff

    Ig it's because the advertisements get really annyoing
    Speedlimit of 30, one person drove 35 (pretty normal, 40 is also to be expected). Those signs are usually hung up where there are small kids (you will never see those kids) to make people feel bad for driving so "fast".

    The Bauhauf one is basically a play on an ad. There's a big hardware store in germany called Bauhaus which advertises with the slogan "Wenn's gut werden muss" ("if it needs to be good", i.e. whatever project you were working on).
    So this person found an enterprise called Bauhauf which just sounds like Bauhaus with a heavy lisp, so they made a mock version of the slogan "Ith it needth to be good"

    I think most actually wouldn't understand the second to last one in Germany either. I'm around 90% sure that it refers to the song "Sterben kannst du überall" (You can die everywhere) from the german group 'Trailerpark' where one of them sings "Früher reichte ein Rotwein gemischt mit Tabletten / Heute deep-throate ich Türklinken von Discotoiletten" which is basically what the meme states

    3:28 the joke is that this food "Döner / Kebab" increased tremendously in price in the recent years for the price of 1 now, I got 2 like 2 years ago
    7:25 Passierschein A38 is a well known meme from "Asterix and Obelix" where they had to fill in a very annoying form and were lead through multiple offices if you look up the video "Passierschein A38" there might be an english translation.
    7:29 Gallileo is a german TV production mostly doing documentaries and one of their common catch phrases is "We are the first german TV team here, which was allowed to film this." sometimes they leave the German if they were the first one allowed at all.
    11:38 "Moin Moin" is a greeting. Half of norther Germany (or maybe even a bit more) only says "Moin" while the other part says "Moin Moin" and thus there is a discussion, which is the "true" northern greeting in Germany either "Moin" or "Moin Moin".
    Just for your information it's "Moin".

    7:30 Galileo is a popular documentary show on German TV aired on the channel called Pro7, they are also on TH-cam. Galileo does a lot random stuff from showing lost places, testing food in different countries, showing you how things are made, the different life styles of people in different countries,... but in the recent few years people got more unpleased by what they post on TH-cam and mostly when it is a re-upload of something that is allready on the channel. The last time I remember people hyped up Galileo was when 2-ish years ago they showed a documentary about the catacombs of Paris, but than it just went downhill with them somehow

    The voting meme is about a election in berlin, which already had to be repeated as too much went wrong the first time. The first time they had the voting for 3 different elections on the same day (city, state + countrywide) and coincidentally the berlin marathon was on the same day. Furthermore they ran out of official voting sheets and started printing their own at the voting chambers and partly used completely wrong voting sheets. In short: it was a complete chaos, so the election in berlin had to be repeated. And now in the 2nd try, a post office forgot to forward several hundred voting ballots, so they were counted late and not included in the initial results.
    Different to the USA, no one here thinks about fraud if something like that happens, but simply cringe about the stupidity and complete inability of berlin voting officials 😅

    I had two grand uncles who were always asking which way people choose to their place, including villages and street names. That was always one of the most important parts of the visit. The best was that they were having two very different options about the best way, so even if you would have happened to know exactly which highways you used and which villages you passed, you could only loose as at least one of them would tell you how bad this choice was. They also usually started serious discussions with each other who is right in the middle of such a talk, while asking sudden uestions in between like "But you have also passed this village when you went that way right?".
    As my aunt had changing boyfriends that days, it was always tough for them and real fun for the rest of the family (of cause nobody warned them but watched and laughed secretly about there increasing confusion)
    XD

    As a teacher in Germany I really do want my students to be able to give and receive constructive criticism. So after each student presentation there are two feedback rounds. The first one is to specifically point out positive aspects of the presentation in order to reinforce the good aspects. The second one is the one I always call “room for improvement”. There the students are supposed to find the mistakes and - which is an essential part - offer improvements.
    Of course neither feedback round is about grading. That is my job. Moreover, I will always safe the last feedback spot for myself to comment on the presenter’s (or in case of a group: presenters’) performance as well as the legitimacy or illegitimacy of criticism by the students.
    Usually it starts a bit slowly with the phrases mentioned, but over time students get really good in giving and receiving constructive criticism and that is usually where the learning curve gets a lot steeper.

    Maybe the original, better quality long version has been taken out of TH-cam because of copyrights. Unfortunately I haven't found it.

    1:35 „Bau Hau(f/s)“ @Ryan WHENEVER you see that dinosaur It‘s a GERMAN SPEECH IMPEDIMENT JOKE… Instead of the the letter ‚S‘ that dinosaur says the letter ‚F‘ because he has speech impediment, due to his non existent lower lips.
    Bauhauf is the real name of a builder.
    Bauhaus the the name of chain of hardware dealer . Their slogan is: „Bauhaus - wenn es gut werden muss“ (~Bauhaus - „if it (your building project) has to turn out well“ )
    Of .. if you are a dinosaur with speech impediment: „BauhauF - wenn eF gut werden muFF“

    How tf did google translate pills with tablets?!
    "Tabletten" = "pills"
    "Tablet" = "Tablet"
    "Tablett" = "tray"
    3 completely different words, but yet quite similar
    1:33 It's called "Bauhaus" (= a brand "build house"), but the s was replaced with an f (every s). Maybe now you get it. (Quite random meme)

    The state of Berlin (city state) had to retake elections due to heavy mistakes. So the court ordered them to retake it. And now, a week after the repeated eletction over 400 postal ballots were found. On the original day many ballots were missing (too little amount printed/delivered), obstacles because a marathon blocking streets, people voting after 6 pm when polling stations close and start counting. Some people voted knowing the provisional results.

    7:33 ok, this one is worth commentating; the crane toppled into an unfinished house and the yellow text states: "Police does not yet know how it happened." Next pic: one of the most viral vids of a crane driver who correctly but hysterically complains, that the place for the crane hasn't been properly prepared; abso-freaking-lutely super funny and many MANY people in germany-austria know this clip: th-cam.com/video/UGlPbphlpBg/w-d-xo.html

      Please don't use "Galileo" (the tv show) in the context of "science". A show that claims that a compass points north because there are huge iron deposits under the ice at the North Pole has nothing - absolutely nothing - to do with science.

    the A38 pass comes from the Asterix comics and movies. in one of the films "Asterix conquers Rome" the heroes Asterix and Obelix have to get the A38 pass in the house that produces the crazy. So A38 refers to it here and shows what kind of nonsense our bureaucracy brings with it.

    3:12 getting critizised by the teacher only makes me feel as if you did something totally wrong or that everyone understood except them. I did some powerpoints over the years and the worst critizism I got from a teacher was when I talked about Japanese music and my teacher got super confused when he asked "Arn't they the people who did Gangnam Style?" and every student said "No, that was Korea" and than my teacher was like "But they do cringe songs too, right?" urg...

    You got a Döner before Corona for 5 Euros or maybe below here. Now, we are have reached 7 Euros and climbing, due to raised energy and supply costs. The Term "Moin" is the usual greeting "good day" at the north coast of Germany. It is told, that the people living there are sparing with words, so the common joke is some sort of following conversation:
    1: moin (good day)
    2: moin ( - " - )
    1: und? (well?)
    2: jo (has to)
    1: jo ( ...)
