This is so freaking awesome. I came here cause my dad died recently. He was working at local LOEWE TV manufacturing for +50y until he retired 10y ago. And he copied this movie from LaserDisc to Video 2000 back in the days at work. So this is some of the major music impacts I got as a kid. And it sounds so much better than the "normal" ones... Thanks!
This is amazing. Makes these tracks come alive. Hopefully this will be the "incentive" to get this released properly on CD at some point. (If the other tracks are available as well). Thanks Seany Mac for the effort you make to fill the endless thirst for new 10cc and related material! Dig it Teen Idol!! DmGrk
Wow! Great to hear from you. Yes, I had to capture it and half speed, then sped it up digitally. I think I did it 5% too fast! I will change this... Thanks.
Wow! Thank you for creating one of my fond childhood memories that I now enjoy sharing with my own kids. Your choice of Graham Goildman was inspired and totally made the movie.
Big thanks for the very important part of my childhood. Animalympics was probably my favorite VHS tape back then. I watched it dozens of times. Today I'm going to my vocal lessons and will try to perform two songs from this masterpiece.
OMG … absolutely Awesome … sounds like an unreleased 10CC album .. no offence meant … brilliant .. the sound quality for 40 years ago is fantastic ..I saw them live twice .. .. they are still on my favourite playlists Many thanks Sean Greetings from thailand
On the vinyl inside cover the musicians are all listen under their first names as they are in 10CC albums. I know that Graham Gouldman wanted to release his Sunburn single ( which also featured all band members other than Eric) as a 10CC track. However, Eric- who was recovering from a car accident- objected. The movie people had wanted 10CC to do the soundtrack so under other circumstances it could have been release as a 10CC album and in fact it is a lot better than the subsequent 10CC album Look Hear. The same could have been done with Girls- the Eric Stewart soundtrack album that came out around the same time ( though not in the UK). It did feature the whole band including Graham. Half of it was written by Duncan McKay who was offended about it being released as a Stewart solo album. He was a really good composer having done a great solo album just before joining 10CC. It is a shame he didn’t write more 10CC stuff as his one writing credit on Bloody Tourists was excellent.
Hi Sean what a superb find. Thanks so much for uploading, I can't quite figure out how the pitch is correct, but the BPM is too fast, did you do something strange like time compression / adjust tempo in a DAW?
Maybe your copy is faster than this one..... th-cam.com/video/54bbLOJAMx8/w-d-xo.html With you i can run forever With you i can run forever 'Cause you gotta be my inspiration Side by side through every nation We ride the world just like a roller coaster As we take each road and we take each turn you bowl me over 'Cause you gotta be my inspiration Together we can run forever Through all the seasons we'll keep goin' on Through the wind and rain and the morning dew It doesn't matter baby where we are With you i can run forever With you i can run forever We see the bright lights of the city The colours change they re-arrange themselves In different patterns But it's too crowded in the city And so we leave it all behind Go on to other places With you i can run forever With you i can run forever There's nothing we can't win together With you i can run forever With you i can run forever With you i can run forever
My guess that there was some VSO introduced at some point. If recording at 15 ips it's a simple jump at twice the speed to correct for 30, so I doubt a speed tweak would happen there, though possible. The -5 cycles notation on the box may be a clue, though I've never seen VSO marked that way.
I just ordered a secondhand copy of the original vinyl album for sweet nostalgia's sake.
I wasn´t a kid when I watched the movie for the first time, I loved it, loved the soundtrack, still is one of my favorites. Hey, I´m 63 yo.
I have no words to describe what this music means to me. THANK YOU for sharing the masters (and yes, too fast!)
Thank you! :- )
@@smacreavy question, if I may: Do you think the stems might ever become available?
Thanks again for taking the time and care to create this project.

Brilliant! This is such a fun time to be a 10cc/Stewart/Gouldman/Godley/Creme/Strawberry Studios fan.
Certainly is, Jen!

Ta, Pany!
Thank you for getting these. What a treat. Nice to hear the original mix. They did a nice job tracking this.
Still got the single, got the album...but the film never made to to my wee town in Scotland so it was years later that I was able to catch up.
I co-wrote the film, did voices and was responsible for hiring Graham Gouldman too! BUT THIS IS RUNNING WAY WAY TOO FAST!

Do you have any other tracks hiding in a cupboard somewhere, underwater fantasy etc?

I bought that album when it came out, there are some outstanding tracks on it.
Let's now hope the 4 other tracks turn up!

No surprise there because when you read the credits on the LP cover, it's basically a 10cc album minus Eric Stewart!

Excellent, please keep them coming. Especially any earlier stuff - Original Soundtrack, How Dare You, Sheet Music related.
Thanks Phil! We'll try...
Amazing
Outstanding. Thank you, Sean and company, for sharing and for the care and love with which you handle these treasures.
Our pleasure!
Thanks for sharing a rare one. Made my day.
Sounds fantastic. You have done some fantastic work in giving the music the respect it deserves. Bravo
Thank you!
Fabulous 👏🏻
More gold! Thanks, Sean.

Yes, I made a mistake in the processing - sorry!

With you i can run forever
With you i can run forever
'Cause you gotta be my inspiration
Side by side through every nation
We ride the world just like a roller coaster
As we take each road and we take each turn you bowl me over
'Cause you gotta be my inspiration
Together we can run forever
Through all the seasons we'll keep goin' on
Through the wind and rain and the morning dew
It doesn't matter baby where we are
With you i can run forever
With you i can run forever
We see the bright lights of the city
The colours change they re-arrange themselves
In different patterns
But it's too crowded in the city
And so we leave it all behind
Go on to other places
With you i can run forever
With you i can run forever
There's nothing we can't win together
With you i can run forever
With you i can run forever
With you i can run forever
it is definitely too fast!
