Scott thanks! Yes, I do. More like snacks here and there. I don’t think of them as cheat meals though I just try to listen to my body. Staying hydrated and having plenty of protein will help with “cheat meal” cravings!
Hi yuyu, I enjoyed your video keeping everything simple and straightforward. A gallon a day is also my minimum, anything under and my performance suffers, do you feel that too? Also great pointer on sleep, as we get older in age... sleep is our recovery phase and should go to bed by 7 not later than 8. Saludos.
Saludos! And thanks, glad you enjoyed it. I'm pretty consistent with a gallon a day, but yes I definitely feel a bit more tired and unclear when I'm not drinking enough water. Exactly, sleep is great! I'll be making a video soon on Recovery tips!
Great video, thanks for posting! Do you have any caffeinated drinks in your diet? Also, do you mix any electrolytes into your 1 gallon+ of water per day?
Thanks! Yes I do have coffee. I need to make an updated version of this video because the meals are fairly similar but the timing is different. At the time I wasn’t adding an electrolyte mix into my diet but now I do and I have that with EAA during my training session!
@@ElYuyuBoxing Awesome! Has the electrolyte mix made a big impact on your training and performance? It would be good to see a video of your non-training camp diet too!
Darren John forsure will do a non training camp video! Well it’s kind of hard to isolate just the electrolyte mix. There’s been several other variables where I’ve changed to help improve my overall training and recovery. One thing forsure is that electrolyte mix also contains essential amino acids so I have a steady supply of AA throughout the day maximizing recovery. Definitely put on some lean size since the making of this video
I'm curious to know what you mixed with your first meal regarding breakfast did you add water or milk to those oats berries and seeds and whey protein? Was it milk or water? What would you prefer?
The crazy thing about me clicking on this video is that I'm making salmon right now and I didn't know it was being spoken about in this video before I clicked it on.
Foods are similar still. What has changed is timing of meals and the macronutrient ratios! Hypercaloric around training, hypo caloric outside training window :)
TheSweetScientist well I fight at 61kg but I don’t walk around that weight. It’ll fluctuate depending on my training program. It’s a combination of things that allow me to stay within reasonable weight from my weight class. Running, resistance training, good sleep length and quality, hydration, addressing nutritional deficiencies, and so many other variables contribute to your weight 🥊
@@ElYuyuBoxing Could you please make a video of what you just told me? A video of your whole week training structure? Please? I'm eating half of your diet and I plateaud at 74kg. I always miss weight at 65kg.
TheSweetScientist yeah no problem I’ll make a video once this quarantine thing is over lol what does your training and diet look like? Plateauing at half of what I’m eating would be LOW! You may have to reverse diet if you haven’t seen any results for a while “reset” your body. Look into it!
Joel Andres I need to make an updated video but I’ll have some green tea, coffee, and water. Also, I started implementing an electrolyte/EAA during training. I stay away fruit juices and sodas
Kapone 1010. I take creatine monohydrate daily post training. Creatine is one of the most researched supplements. Plus if there is any chance of cognitive function improvement why not, in this sport we are constantly getting our brain rattled. Only thing is expect to gain some water weight when you start taking creatine
It's not too difficult really. When I'm training I'm 100% present and focused. When I'm coaching I am focused on clients. The closer I get to the fight the less I coach. Usually I will completely cut in-person coaching off about two weeks from fight night.
Claudio Torres I’m training boxing Monday-Saturday, three sparring days, that doesn’t change much during training camp only becomes more specific to the fight. Rehearsing the game plan, making minor adjustments, things like that. Mornings I am boxing and the evenings I am doing runs/strength and conditioning.
Claudio Torres the exercises I do depends on the phase I’m in, for example- strength phase, endurance phase, power phase, etc. I made a video on one of my strength and conditioning days check it out! The key is consistency. You may not see results right away but you will in the long run.
Allen Gonzalez Yes, frequency isn’t nearly as important as overall intake. It just depends on your goal, if you want to lose weight you need to be in a calorie deficit. You can manage that with either 2 meals or 6 meals, you have to find out what works best for you and most importantly be consist.
It depends, how is your activity level? If you want to lose weight you should be in a negative energy balance, calorie deficit. Give it try-- 5'10, 160 pounds assuming you train I would say it will help you lose weight. If not, adjust some of the meals.
Aqib Rizvi think of it as an investment brotha. The return on eating healthy food compared to cheap junk food is much greater. You’d be surprised tho a lot of this food is actually very cheap!
miguel martinez yes, you can. It depends on how calorie dense the meals are if I eat (3) 1000+ calorie meals throughout the day chances are I will NOT lose weight. However, if they are smaller (less calories) chances are I WILL lose weight. At the end of the day, frequency of meals and snacks isn’t as important as total energy taken in.
That's great, I started boxing about 3 months ago and when we closed the academy because of the coronavirus. I thought of this time as a time for me to begin a diet, and I started to build up my stamina. I want to learn more about good diet, please if you know about diet help me out. Check my TH-cam channel, I just started uploading my self-training.
A year late, but thanks for the info. Amateur boxer here and I've always struggled with nutrition. I know I'm not the only one on here when I say that
Me too
Everyone is unique. I personally have a terrible diet and exercise sparingly yet I'm completely ripped and in shape year round. Genetics are crazy.

How you split your training in a training camp ?
Claudio Torres I’m training boxing Monday-Saturday, three sparring days, that doesn’t change much during training camp only becomes more specific to the fight.
