I like the duo fights for one reason: Their personalites. In Electro and Vulture, you can tell the two respect each other, complimenting each other when they land a hit and apologising when they hit each other, meanwhile it's just the opposite for Rhino and Scorpion who constantly insult each other and not even being fazed when they hit each other.
I find playing this game on the hardest difficulty (the one that unlocks after you finish new game) makes the combat a lot more satisfying and frantic.
I considered playing that one and for some reason didn’t, but I can see that being the case. I will say that some of the enemy warehouses and stuff are pretty tough, I think those are fine difficultywise. I just think the bosses sometimes feel a bit sparse from a mechanical standpoint even more than in a lacking damage stat sense -Alex
@@Cytonox yeah I agree the normal enemies aren’t so bad but bosses tend to be super easy in this game, I think miles morales *did* do a better attempt of adding quality to bosses on a gameplay level (although I will say tinkerer is just a watered down doc ock) but with the sequel I def wanna see bosses that feel more diverse than basic enemies with more health. I don’t think it’d be wrong of them to take notes from the Arkham games, they had some awesome bosses throughout them like mr freeze, clayface, bane, killer croc, Grundy, Arkham knight, scarecrow, while I think overall Spider-Man has better story and gameplay I think arkhams bosses are way more memorable just because of the gameplay alone

The third time he was reconstructed. We have seen plenty of him now and I definitely think iInsomniac are not going to use him in Spider-Man 2 or other later instalments.
Yeah I kinda noticed that they gave extra attention to the sinister six members that didn’t get a whole lot of attention in the first game, vulture also reappears as a boss if you do the battle simulator missions in miles morales
Gotta say I think what especially made tinkerer suck on a story level (gameplay was awesome tho) was how she felt like a watered down copy paste of Martin li. Friend of main character gets wronged by billionaire and goes off the deep end, setting up a terrorist group to expose billionaire and takes it way too far, hero is forced to stop friend in the end but they still care about each other due to history. It’s not a bad character dynamic, just that it was already something we’ve seen with the first game plus with the game being much shorter than the first tinkerer wasn’t nearly as fleshed out of a character compared to Martin li
Even though these bosses aren't as smart as Mr Freeze from Arkham City or as cinematic the Deathstroke origins fight, I still believe that Spiderman still handled boss fights better than the Arkham games

The boss battle should be smart and he should be looking out for you to repeat attacks you’ve pulled off on him before, forcing you into using methods you don’t often use
16:40 I agree. Tinkerer and Krieger don't work as antagonists as much as main game ones, Tinkerer has no charisma, Krieger is just weird with no redeeming qualities(even Norman had ones)
The Prowler boss is how Taskmaster's boss should have been handled. I also thought the Tinker story was fine but cared less about Simon Krieger's side of things. He was a bozo who deserved worse than handcuffs.
Great video, Guys! I haven't played this game, but I have played Batman: Arkham City and can see some of the similarities in terms of the battle mechanics. Personally, I wasn't the biggest fan of Arkham City's boss fights (don't especially care for QTE-heavy battles), but Mr. Freeze was a huge stand-out, as I thought it made good use of the Detective Mode and the plethora of tools at your disposal. It sounds like Spiderman has a mixed bag of boss fights, but at least it sounds like there were some great ones among them. I'm excited to see the Persona 5 Royal Palace Ranking, as that is my favorite game of the 8th generation. As much as I love RPGs (just look at my username), I don't think very many of them boast stellar dungeons. P5R is a definite exception, and, at their best, I think its palaces even rival the greatest Zelda dungeons. Anyway, great video, and I look forward to your future uploads!
Alex here, I’ve only ever really played the original LEGO Batman and thats about it. I don’t really play em much so I can only speak for me, but I know Jack has a handful like Pirates of the Caribbean lying around his house. Spiderman ps4 and Miles morales are really good games but the bosses are hit and miss when you go into detail about each of them especially since most of the bosses in spiderman ps4 are tag team ones so you're locked into a small arena
lol, I kinda had to attempt to justify not caring about the Phin storyline beyond just not caring about her character so people wouldn’t say I was blindly hating. I stand by most of what I said there, but if I’m being 100% honest my tldr on that fight it it’s fun but I wasn’t attached at all to Phin so the emotional aspect was a miss for me -Alex
@@Cytonox I feel like the childhood friends-turned-rivals trope is overused in stories and usually doesn't come off as poignant and thought-provoking as intended. One game that bucked this trend was Final Fantasy Tactics, as its version of the trope featured quite a bit of complexity and nuance, and it doesn't hurt that the two characters involved are among the most compelling and well-written I've seen in the medium.

The vulture bossfight and air combat are inferior to web of shadows. There's no mechanical depth in the bossfights aside from attack and retreat tactics. The Roxxon rhino bossfight was largely tedious as most bosses with henchmen running around tend to be.
