Pro tip. If a reviewer actually states that dual 8 pin or 8 + 4 pin power connectors are relevant for a good overclock they have no clue what they are talking about. The only scenario where this extra power begins to matter is if you are doing competitive overclocking and using LN2, and maybe dry ice with the 16 core. For everything else the 370-380 watts you get from one 8 pin is more than adequate. The board vendors know this as well with the majority of boards providing you with two connectors being unable to sense if two are actually connected or not.
Hello, one correction for 9:30: The bottom M.2 slot (M2C_Socket) on Aorus Master can fit up to 2280 length M.2 according to the motherboard manual. The top two slots can fit up to 22110.
Great review man, I love how you explained the whole thing. But I was just wondering if the X570 Aorus Extreme would go well with the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X..? Any idea?

Thanks for providing a great informative video. Because of your presentation, I felt more comfortable investing in the X570 Aorus Master upgrading from the X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming I bought about a year ago, but did not install it in my new system I am building. I felt that the X470 was not up to par with the "latest" technology. Knowing I'm getting a board that is future proof, my new system should last me about another 11 years.
@@centralcoastadventures772 I have a confession to make: I haven't started building my new system yet. 😁 I was tied up with the honey-do-list that kept getting longer and longer between two homes I owe. Since my post, I had changed a few things with my new built to include returning my RAM cards in exchange for more memory and LED aesthetically pleasing lighting; uodraded the case to a new NXT and their water cooling system; upgraded the GPU and exchanged it for the biggest and baddest GPU (at the time); and many other upgrades too numerous to mention. Oh! And not to forget uprgrading my CPU, too, to their 16 core (I think it's their Ryzen 9, but don't quote me. I'm currently on vacation and the tequila is kicking in 😁). When I get back, I'll update with a list of the components I upgraded. At the end, the system total investment was about ~$5,000.00 to include upgrading my monitors to three 27" 4Ks. I've also upgraded my A/V receiver to a Denon system HDMI 2.1 to passthrough audio and video signals for an immersive 11.1 Dolby Atmos experience. Grant total investment puts me probably closer to around $6K or $7K.
@@xanthanx LOL, life gets in the way of components at times! I'm looking to build a bare-bones CPU rendering machine for my art. I've got my 9300x running 100% 24/7 doing animations. So a secondary to speed things up will be helpful. So a Master MoBo, one HDME I have in stock, steal RAM from my 9300x, a 5950x, just got a dark Rock Pro4, need a PSU, think I'll get an 850 Seasonic and put it into my main machine and take the Dark Rock Pro11 750 out and put it into the new rig. Fractal Compact case, (don't need storage), I've got an old-old-old GPU so I can see the monitor, but don't need it for the processing. This will sit and tear into my animations 24/7. I think I can get it together for just under $2,000. But it is very specific-purposed. I've got my main rig with 10TB storage and the Master MoBo, 9300x and dark Rock cooler. In fact, the reason I am going for the Master MoBo instead of a cheaper one for 'just this specific use', is that in the future adding a 'real' GPU I'll have a capable machine that is well-rounded. And I can OC this board... and that's why also that I've going with a good PSU.... I could get away with a 450W since I'm only rendering. But what if I want to put my Sapphire Nitro in from the other rig? It's better to buy a bit bigger when I know that a PSU that lasts for ten years or more will be in there and not have to be replaced if I upgrade. Eventually I'd like to put a 5950x into this rig also. Having two of them I should be able to process three times the video I am now!
@@centralcoastadventures772 When it comes to PSUs, I'm in the old school opinion that more power is better as there are times that the system load at sleep state can demand significant strain on the PSU. I think, and this is my personal opinion, that measuring your entire power load over 30%-40% or 50% will ensure less taxing on the PSU components. I ended up going with the Seasonic Prime Titanium (1000w) PSU. Since I will be driving three 27" 4K monitors (LG 27UL500) coupled with MSI Aero NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2080 GPU 8G (I can't believe this thing is going for $1,649.99 on eBay!!!) as this beast requires at least a 650W PSU, I wanted to be in the clear and opted for a 1000w unit. I am certain whatever route you decide for your MoBo and its peripherals, you will be making a wise choice as it appears you're making carefully calculated decisions based on current and future needs. I'm thinking about making a TH-cam video, but not certain if it will make a difference compared to what I have seen and understanding that my built may not necessarily be applicable for most folks' needs. I do noticed that vids from the likes from Paul's Hardware and Bitwit seem to be missing something I can't put a thumb on. 😁 Current Inventory (sitting around) 😁: - AMD Ryzen 9 3900X - Kraken Z73 - X570 Aorus Master - Kingston A1000 M.2 960GB - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 (4x32GB) 128 GB - Xonar Essence STX PCI-E Audio Card (pulled from my old MoBo). I haven't found anything close to it yet. - 3 Samsung 869 EVO 1TB (total 3 TB) - ZZXT H710i The thing is, for me to set up the camera and lighting as this will be my first VLOG, it will take some time. And I really don't have that kind of time on my hand. People don't understand the insane hours and days one has to invest for pre and post production videos just to make a 15-minute video. There will always be a couple of jerks to down vote you --regardless. So, what do you think? Should I spend the extra time to make a video or just built my system finally and screw the video.
7:36 - yeah, you do not need the extra metal... how to say that shi... is gold :D Sorry but it was my first thought, most of us would prefer this metal instead of fan.
Nope. I think you should only get the XTREME if you are an enthusiast who needs to overclock the system to break records. For everyday use, the MASTER, or even lower end models, will be more than enough. You'd rather spend more money on other components than on a motherboard. Of course, you will still need a good motherboard - every AORUS series motherboard performs well.
@@ZhiChengHang yep, indeed. I've got a Master MoBo and could not be happier. The Extreme sounds fun, but I doubt I'd really be doing anything more than I am now.
Nice video, dude! I'm in the market and probably going 3900X. Really nice boards. Do you think this thing will fit a Noctua NH-D15 cooler OK? I know I'll have to select the right RAM and probably adjust the fans, and I'm going full tower, but I'm a bit concerned with that top PCIe x16 slot being right up top there.
Hey there. I can confirm that the NH-D15 cooler fits on the board. Clears my 2080ti by 1-2cm. You might need the socket AM4 mounting kit depending on when you got your cooler.
When I connect the 24 pin power connector to the board isn't the RGB lights on the board to light up? As nothing lights up on mine just the CMOS button on the back just stays lighting. Extreme model.
I own the Gigabyte Aorus Extreme MB and spent 1600 on GSkill memory from Newegg that does not work on the MB. Ive contacted Gigabyte and Gskill. Gigabyte said that they do not have a bios for this memory at this time. So frustrated!!!!!!!! Buyer beware they all lie! Why do all the manufacturing companies tout 128GB memory when they arent supporting it out of the box
This board has MORE negative reviews than any other mobo in any tier. Their customer service is HORRIBLE!!!! MOST of the people who have bought it, seem to have problems with it actually posting. HORRIBLE reviews on Newegg and Amazon. Gigabyte has developed a TERRIBLE reputation with boards that don't work, shipped without some ports on them and a refusal to do ANYTHING to help the customer. Worst Customer Service of any company...

definitely!
What we want are the Z490, X570 and the TRX40 fanless passively cooled AoRUS Xtreme boards, but with AMD's and these specs:
- 10Gb Lan,
- Wlan G6,
- Pcie-4.0, 5.0, 6.0,
- Usb-4.0,
- Displayport 2.0 (for 16k),
- Hdmi-2.2 / 3.0 (for 16k),
- 7nm Cpu (x2+) Zen3, 5nm Zen4,
- 7nm Gpu (x2+),
- Ddr5 Ram.
DisplayPort 2.0 for a Motherboard is pointless because there are no APUs even capable of doing 4k at a reasonable performance
