Thank you very much for this video! I was looking for a simple solution for converting 2 channels into one. But all of the PreAmps were too bulky and expensive, on the other end the Y splitters didnt provide phantom power. But with this one if I getting it right, I can use two lav mics, plug it into the SmallRig splitter and connenct the Smallrig with my Rode Wireless, and it will transmit two mics with one transmitter. Am I getting it right? Plus somehow this smallrig will provide phantom power to my Lav mics?
Almost, if you have a two channel wireless lav mic system it will need to have the capabilities of sending mono audio similar to the Rode wireless go 2. Otherwise it will only send one of the Lauv Mike’s to your camera via the small rig adapter. Also, it does not allow for “phantom power” like what is needed for XPR shotgun mics But rather a pass-through signal (power) for microphones such as the rode video micro. If you had the rode wireless go 2 and the rode video micro then you would have the capabilities of recording three different audio sources but it would go into the camera as a stereo signal. The rode wireless go, in mono, would be one channel and the shotgun mic would be the other channel in the stereo signal that would be recorded on your video clip. I hope this helps.
Is is possible to run 3 channels of audio? Using a smart rig 2 and 1 bracket 2996, then connecting shotgun mic(video micro) and then one receiver with two transmitters from the wireless go 2?
Thanks for this video , I’ve tried this setup on my a7s3 and it works great , thank you !!!
Great work! I ordered on as soon as I saw you post about it.
Great vid. Just picked it up as well.

Yes BUT the WirelessGo 2 will need to be in mono and you will not be able to edit the wireless audio separately from each other.
