It can be one of those practice makes perfect scenarios. The more you put your body through a movement the easier it becomes in time. We call this muscle memory. It could also be related to hydration and nutrition. We would recommend stretches relevant to where experience the cramps and to make sure you are hydrated with plenty of potassium, calcium and magnesium in your diet. Thanks for reaching out to us and please let us know if you have any other questions. 👌
As someone fairly new to the sport what session would you recommend at the wave? I have been bodyboarding about 6 months in the sea but haven’t been to the wave yet and I’m a bit nervous to jump in on a session and make a Wally of myself haha. Great video guys!
Hi, we are actually taking a trip to the Wave as part of our Cornwall Retreat week, you can come for the whole week or just the day at the Wave, it's the best way to learn and hang with a group of like minded people, please take a look at bodyboard-holidays.com/destinations/united-kingdom/cornwall-retreat/
Hey Chris, I took up the sport a few years ago. But being at rhe mercy of the swell/wind gods whenever we visit the SW I have gotten very little consistent practice in. Can count the amount of decent rides I've had in the 2 years on my hands 😄. I've been out in, and was fairly comfortable in 6ft faces but just lacked the experience in the surf to always be in the right spot. I've booked the Wave for 2 sessions (same day) in September, they are both intermediate sessions as it will give me 2 solid hours of practice in manageable size waves to really make sure ive nailed down the fundamentals. Like you I uhmed and aahd over plucking for a bigger wave, but decided the objective of the day, like I said, is to get 2 solid hours of constant practice that I haven't been able to achieve in all my visits to the beach over the last few years. This hopefully then sets me up for a good winter, am also keen to get on one of bodyboard-holidays weekenders in October. And remember you can always go back to the wave and go for a bit bigger session next time.
@@bodyboard_holidays oh it's my goal for 2024...I sort if forget to try as iam buzzy getting a ride . Almost managed it the other day . I've got round but wiped out at the end.
I notice they are holding one leg in the water longer then pulling it up to cross the feet at your bum. Does this help you spin better or does it do nothing?
The leg trailing in the water when trimming before the spin is a continuation of the rail of the board. This leg is helping the riders keep locked in to the face of the wave and draw a line across the wave. When initiating a spin this leg needs to be released from the face of the wave as well as the rail of the board for the spin to start. We will get a video made explaining this very soon. 👌
That's an interesting question. We've not noticed any difference and we find that in certain such as the cutback reverse spin they are actually beneficial.
‘Slow-mo disengage’ section at the end was an eye opener. Awesome, cheers for these.
Hope it helped!
This channel has been missing in my life. Needing loads of new content from you guys.
Keep on checking back, there's loads of epic content coming your way!
Another quality tutorial from the team
Thanks guys!
I make those same mistakes and my spins feel forced and slow. Sometimes get back part stuck and flips me over. This is super helpful

Great to see the 2 side by side with every step of the one doing it right compared to the one doing it wrong
Hope it helps!
Thanks You. Guys, regards from Huanchaco. PERÚ.
🙌 Glad you liked the video!
This is gold. I want to get back out and try to spin now that I know what I’ve been doing wrong!
We hope it helps!
How do you avoid or stretch to avoid cramps when you cross your feet against your rear end?

I keep trying but no luck yet as don't think had a good enough wave to learn it on
Keep on trying and you'll get there!

I have been living under a rock but coming out to the light...love the tips...on 360 do you slide your body forward to get centered?...cheers!
Don't you already play with your body positioning on waves to generate speed? This is the same thing you just have to find the center of your board.🤙
Yep thats it, get your weight centred by moving up your board. 👌

@@bodyboard_holidays Ok thanks, looking forward to seeing that video.
Looks like alot of pro use the inside leg to push or start the spin @JuicePod
Is it harder to do spins if your bodyboard has deep channels? Thx!

Thanks for the rply@@bodyboard_holidays
I’ve actually done some accidental 360s when I was teaching myself how to bodyboard last summer 😂😂😂🎉
Time to accidently do them on purpose! 😜
