I’ll play the devils advocate here. He should have checked that it was compatible himself. I would never trust a seller unless I knew them personally. Plenty of forums to ask questions on and find out what parts are compatible with what, if you can’t find that information from the manufacturer. Moral of the story. People suck, only trust yourself, and never buy a project like this without fully going over everything it needs.
Ugh, I'm sorry Zack. I hope you get the parts you need without breaking the bank. You deserve to have a good running ski with all the work you put in. Thanks so much for the awesome videos you put out!
Dude, you are an eternal optimist and your work ethic is admirable. Hopefully you can sell the computer and stuff that doesn't fit, and at least get close to breaking even on the stuff you still need. No need to take a total loss on the stuff that doesn't fit your ski. It may take some time to sell, but it should go eventually.
I have not seen a 2019 ski in worse condition than this ski. Maybe never seen any ski in worse condition. This ski was good for scrap. But this is an entertaining and awesome channel and resurrecting stuff that should be in the garbage is why we come. Good luck!
Starter relay has a small ring in it. Check if its intact (and without a crack). It happened on my Yamaha Motorcycle (uses a similar relay). It would crank the starter but didn't have enough power going through (because of a very minor crack) to power the injector.
Could also be the reason for the display not working as everything except for the starter motor is powered through this little ring on the battery side.
I know these skis can be a pain in the ass but they are fun to watch. Enjoying seeing u actually put the time into make the esthetics look good also! Boats too
Insane to see all these sellers (knowingly or unknowingly) ripping you off. Wish you all the best, you're the only reason why I still access youtube from time to time. Keep it up, love the effort and your awesome content.
And sometimes you get in contact with someone that is will to stay on the phone with you and help walk you through what may be wrong and why its not running. Pretty cool of that guy
I’m sure this has been experience you would rather had forgotten but the the school of hard knocks is the toughest school . Keep your chin up and a positive attitude and you will overcome. Good luck !
If you can get schematics.. maybe you can make it think it has all those things, so it doesn't throw a warning light... Or maybe... remove the warning light. You mainly need the injectors to inject, and the sparks to spark, with the right timing from the crankshaft sensor. The fuel qty should be adjusted with the o2 sensor automatically. If it's too much out of spec, you can have an adjustable "racing" fuel regulator and give it less fuel pressure
Props to you for such an awesome seat cover. Nicely done! You will get this machine running. I think if your dash is broken, it is worth taking it apart. It's already NOT working.
Buy a used working ski of the same model. Swap components 1 at a time til you get yours running. Then order the needed part. Resell the second one you bought hopefully for what you have into it.....
Anytime electronics and moisture are both present, it will cause grief in the long run, especially in salt water. Not sure why these watercraft are not waterproofed better as far as electronic components.
SWEET JESUS talk about committing to a project. By the looks of it you will end up spending some MUCHO MULA, and you will never get it back, but hey thats how things are when your knee deep into something you wanna see running. Keeeeeep on going man GREAT WORK AND DETERMINATION !!¡¡¡ 😏😏😏😏👌👌👌👌
Hey man thanks for pushing through on this build. I know it’s gotta be frustrating to say the least but it’s turning out awesome. I love the content you put out and I hope your channel just keeps growing and growing. Much love from Colorado!
Looking very nice, I hope you get her running soon. I was curious if you used a special paint to paint the plastic bumpers and also where did you get your handle bar grips. Good luck and looking forward to the next video.
Your plan should be to go to one of your local watercraft repair centers and say look I am a TH-cam influencer with 156,000 subscribers. Would you like to get some free advertisement for helping me repair this jet ski? I can film you and show how good your shop is and it's a win-win for both.
Damn I feel for you. But I been thinking in my head. I kinda wanted to buy a used jet ski and fix it up, but watching the first 2 videos you made my mind up. I don't wanna do it anymore 😂😂
Best to cut your losses before they add up. Better to take an initial hit on a project and get rid of it at a small loss, than to sink far more time and money into it later on and dig that hole deeper. Just my 2 cents. Enjoy your channel!
that thing was a for sure a rental unit and ABUSED. Sucks, sometimes ya win sometimes ya lose. Definitely try and stay away from newer skis that show that much wear and high hours , ESPECIALLY base models like that as they're likely rentals ..
To see if it will run put the fuel pump on a 12volt switch crank engine flick switch on let it run if it runs like that then u know it has to be the cluster as the pump feed power from there
You def weren’t getting fuel and you don’t need the dash to be working in order for the ski to start. When you tap the start button you should hear the fuel pump kick in before you start cranking the engine. Disconnect the line with the green tab going to the fuel rail and tap the start button. If your fuel pump is working you’ll get fuel from there …….
Nothing wrong with buying a used PWC. But there is something wrong when buying something you know nothing about. Some people know, and some people think they know. It looks pertty, it must be mint.
Great Job, it looks beautiful, great content. Too bad the person that sold that to you was not honest with the damages. Let's hope you can find the parts for a reasonable price. It cost you a lot of money and time but it makes for good content.
Seadoos are the worst. You're better off buying ones that have been well maintained. Not clapped out junkers. I admire his ambition but he keeps diving in head first on cheap junker skis that he doesn't know how to fix.
Those mats have the wrong Yamaha logo. The logo used is the Yamaha industries logo, the Yamaha motors logo is different. With the Motor logo the tuning fork goes out and touches the circle whereas industries don't touch.
You need to put that seller on blast.
I was legit about to put the same comment word for word. People need to know not to buy from him. That guy knew what he was selling.. junk!
I’ll play the devils advocate here. He should have checked that it was compatible himself. I would never trust a seller unless I knew them personally. @@mitchellstepan7215 I think myself and @lcaldz483 are talking about the seller of the ski itself. Not the seller of the parts feller
Ugh, I'm sorry Zack. I hope you get the parts you need without breaking the bank. You deserve to have a good running ski with all the work you put in. Thanks so much for the awesome videos you put out!

Sometimes you get scammed. Sucks to go through, but now you know what to look for. Great vid as always.
And sometimes you get in contact with someone that is will to stay on the phone with you and help walk you through what may be wrong and why its not running. Pretty cool of that guy

“The guy I bought it from, outside the liquor store, seemed like a real upstanding fellow”
number one tip: if you buy used make sure its a 2 stroke. much easier to work on
Amazing work! Mechanic, paint and body, designs and sews your own interiors! Able to take on the unknown?! Just awesome man!
Awesome video. Look forward to the final episode. Can't wait for the next Jeep video!
Great work. Ski looks good. I’m
Looking forward to seeing you finish it and putting it on the water.
That thing turned out slick man! Definitely an ultimate rebuild. What a transformation.
The graphics set looks real nice. Wouldn't it be nice if everything just worked the first time around.
Electronic cleaner isn't always plastic safe. Always use Contact Cleaner.
You WILL get it running......don't burn it.
I really enjoy your projects and videos. Richard, age 80....in Tidewater area of Virginia.

Wrap is awesome! Sorry that your having issues. Glad your doing this because I love watching all the rebuilds. Don't set it on 🔥

I believe in Karma, and the guy that sold that to you will soon believe in it also. There is no way he didn't know how bad that thing was.

I am so happy to see when you upload :)

bro, i wish i had as much hope and faith in humanity as you do!
the yamaha looks awesome man. Really hope you can get it going soon, Want you to be able to finally enjoy that thing!
Please tell us who the rental company was so we can give him a bad review
Always look forward to a new video. Your videos have came a long way. Always good content with honest reactions. Keep it up man! God bless!
rooting for you my friend, good job on the wrap looks amazing !!!!!!!!!!
You are an artist dude. Always impressed with the aesthetics. Sorry it isn't running yet but that will happen.
Do they make a scanner that can check the system without breaking the bank??
Hey man thanks for pushing through on this build. I know it’s gotta be frustrating to say the least but it’s turning out awesome. I love the content you put out and I hope your channel just keeps growing and growing. Much love from Colorado!

You are a good man and we are all rooting for you!
Good work, keep grinding away at it Zach! You’ll get it for sure

Nice, honest take on the used jet ski experience. Where do you get your transition music? It really helps the whole video flow
People will always buy from you because you’re a good person. Don’t forget that.
Damn I feel for you. But I been thinking in my head. I kinda wanted to buy a used jet ski and fix it up, but watching the first 2 videos you made my mind up. I don't wanna do it anymore 😂😂

Gotta watch out for that sunk cost fallacy.
Man of many talents.....add seamstress to the list ✅
Looks great keep going I'm sure you'll get it running
Not happy I missed this video a month ago. I hope this build can be salvaged.
Great patience, you'll get there!
You sure are talented. I'm glad you use it for good and not evil, that I know of lol😂
If all else fails, can you convert it to a carburetor and crank trigger ignition?
hope you get it running looks great
You do amazing work. 👍Ultimate Rebuilds👍
All dressed up and no place to go.
Dude, wow, this has been so very interesting. Thanks for just being so honest.
At what point do you get the project isn’t worth it ?
Haven't seen all your vids but have you checked the basics and a good ground?
Use your multimeter to check continuity on all the connectors
is the voltage right ?
that thing was a for sure a rental unit and ABUSED. Sucks, sometimes ya win sometimes ya lose. Definitely try and stay away from newer skis that show that much wear and high hours , ESPECIALLY base models like that as they're likely rentals ..
very professionally done
Hang in there, you inspired me to do more thank you
imo you have a bad ground wire some where
Your video title should say "Do your due diligence and don't overpay for a used Jetski"
Exactly…should have inspected it well enough to notice the massive hole in the original block
Did you fire it up already?
Have u tryed to use start gas spray.
Pickup a power probe for checking electrical issue. That is if you don’t have one.
To see if it will run put the fuel pump on a 12volt switch crank engine flick switch on let it run if it runs like that then u know it has to be the cluster as the pump feed power from there
is there an episode 4 ? did this guy ever get the ski running?
Is the gel coat paint you used?
Looks good
Oscillating multi tool with a scraper blade will pull those traction mats right up.
Did you happen to finish the project
Where did you decor customs?
Do you not need to have the kill switch installed ?
You def weren’t getting fuel and you don’t need the dash to be working in order for the ski to start. Kitty says meow.

You're doing good, looks good.
Back in the early 2000s Yamaha’s were the easiest to work on. Do you have an opinion on which ones are the easiest these days?
Seadoos are the worst. You're better off buying ones that have been well maintained. Not clapped out junkers. I admire his ambition but he keeps diving in head first on cheap junker skis that he doesn't know how to fix.
Did you ever complete the ski if you need help I could help you out
Buy a used Jet Ski they said, it would be fun they said.
so has this been set of fire yet?
Youll get it going. 👍
Compared to the original Waverunner 500, this piece is unneccecarily overengineered, plus the previous owner had no idea about servicing it.
Looks amazing!
Great job man! You should set up Patreon for your channel.
More Jeep!!! LOL
CAN YOU GET A SERVICE MANUAL?LOVE YOUR VIDEOS YOU DO AMAZING WORK YOU ARE VERY TALENTED
Love all your stuff but I would have made the seats all one color.
Credit to the guy in Jacksonville helping a guy out.
ever get it running no updated video
update on this?
Those mats have the wrong Yamaha logo. The logo used is the Yamaha industries logo, the Yamaha motors logo is different. With the Motor logo the tuning fork goes out and touches the circle whereas industries don't touch.
I suggest you install all the options so it does have it all 🤣
Instead of buying an inflatable tow behind you can just tow the broken ski around. Lol
