JD deserves better.
He lost his mom. His father rejects his actions, doesn't support him.
He made a though choice in Settlement 02, and he truly hated what he did, enough for him to go AWOL and defect from his duties. He wanted to erase his past and do things right.
He killed an entire Swarm Hive, got the necessary intel to re activate the Hammer of Dawn and saved most of the people in Settlement 02.
Loses Lizzie, gets severely wounded, and suddenly everyone hates him.
JD got heavily downplayed in this game, to the point his life doesn't matter and you can dispose of him in a QTE.
The whole point of saving JD is giving the guy a second chance

Well, the planet isn't in a stable condition either. Decades of war scarred the planet to the point of weather phenomenons like razorhail and windflares + Imulsion almost consuming the surface in an already lifeless world. Though the 25 years of peace did enable a recovery.

Gonna be honest campaign wasn’t the best gears campaign but in my opinion it was really good, it had emotion, epic moments, it had some sense of gritty and creepy vibes like the old gear like when u explored the hope facility, the ending was annoying as now we have to wait for the next one, but all in all a solid game.

@asian dude i think they had the ideia to make a new trilogy , so they could answer old questions like Myrrah and at same time expanding the universe . Gears 4 was a introduction , gears 5 the development and gears 6 probably the climax and the conclusion .

Can someone explain to me.. HOW IS REYNA STILL ALIVE? I remember she was dead at the end of GEARS 5
Most of it it's explained in the act 2, when you meet Niles.
Basically, when Kait Killed Reyna, Reyna's conciousness was already linked with the swarm's hivemined, so even after her physical death, her mind survived, and then Myrraah's manipulations evdntually turned her into the new swarm queen. I assume that her new form is either a mutated state of her previous human body, or a completley new body that the swarm created for her to house her warpped mind in.

Myrah physical body wasn’t never linked to any organic structural thing of the Pre-Locust unlike Reyna was.
They didn’t explain that , Myrah just happen to still be “around” lingering in the DNA of the Swarm

This seems like an intense fight and a fun one, but queen Myra will always be my fav boss fight ngl
I agree; she was a good final boss fight with that Tempest. But holy shit, that Kraken felt less like a boss fight (in a good way) and more like a life/death scenario; this entire act was one of the most stressful, immersive and emotional moments in the Gears series. Very memorable.
Reminds me of when i finished gears of war 3 in the hardest difficult, oh, my , days, it was a compmete chaos, as if i wasnt having enough of a hard time with myrrah, locust scarred up as long as thoses flying machin guns

It’s obvious from his video that Gears 5 has less visual detail in some areas, but imo that doesn’t detract anything from the game. The campaign is still fucking awesome and it feels like Gears, unlike 4. The characters are great, the lore is well presented, the gameplay is still top notch Gears.
Why did it sound like Kait was giving orders some times she’s the lowest ranking member there
its because she had the strongest knowledge of the swarm since in the story Reyna....back in Gears 4 Kait thought she was killing her mom but the thing that she was doing was freeing her so she could evolve into the new Swarm Queen since the swarm needed her since Reyna was the daughter of the original queen.
Also the origins of our enemy began at the New Hope facility in Gears of War 2 in an area shown in this game and thats where Kait found out the truth that the swarm tried to make her their queen but she denied it since that facility is where the whole thing started even before E-day and the wars before that.

Played Gears 5 twice on Experienced difficulty. Am feeling like I may never play it again, but certianly never on Experienced; it brutalised me both times. (I also hate oll the hunting for components.) Got to be worth a shot on normal difficulty one time.
However the trouble with Gears games for me is, on normal they are quite easy, on experienced they very hard. Very hard to the point I die so many times, it takes so long between story parts. Then I have lost the thread of the story, and only vaguley know what happened.

Matthew Arenson makes sense honestly. I felt more emotion towards del dying then I would JD. I see this as a way for Marcus and JD to actually come more together seeing How Marcus lost dom which he could comfort JD on the topic of losing someone who was like a brother to them.
Or they'll have an import feature like in Mass Effect and we'll have two different campaign stories.
