- SO, This was life in 2001. I was living by myself in a mobile home. I LOVED LIFE!! This is the time I first heard some hype about a Black Friday!
Also a day of driving in the rainy whether! And living it up!

I was 25 years and 39 days old when he filmed this lol back when the internet was still pretty new and the connection was soooo very S-L-O-W lol we had to "dial up" our connection on a land line lol and walking down the street talking on a big brick cell flip phone with the antenna up was considered so cool and arrogant at the same time lol I remember making eye contact with a cop while driving and talking on my brick phone and nothing bad happened lol
Enjoy your youth because before you know if you'll be my age and asking where the time went!! Lol

You know what. It was the wiper motor making a loud noise. The motor had a problem. But I just lived with it.

I remember 2001 vaguely. I remember gas being 1.30-1.39 back in those days when I went to the gas station with my dad. And bags of chips being 4 for 1.00 and the 20 oz drinks being 0.99. Life was a lot simpler back in the Early 2000s

Oh boy, I remember having to unload truck loads of those Symphonic Televisions out of the semi trucks, when I was working for Walmart, back in 2001. We would get several truck loads of those televisions for the Black Friday sale! I bet all of them are probably in landfills by now in 2019 😂😂😂

I remember this was around the time my parents still had that 67 VW Beetle we used to drive to Ventura with.
Oh yes, although there was much less of them by the time the 2000s rolled around compared to watching videos from the 80s, still, they still were not that uncommon.
When I was born on April of 2001, my grandfather had a 70s Beetle up until roughly 2003 when it just simply gave him too many issues and also needed a pickup truck which was more suited for hauling loads, despite me not being able to remember many things then, I vividly remember that Beetle and remember my dad (son-in-law) driving it and ended up breaking down about only 1/2 a mile from his house.
I honestly wished he kept it, I really missed that Beetle but I guess you have to let some things go eventually.

Watching these videos is so cool with me being 20 years old and not being alive during the 80s and 90s it's really awesome to see what it was like through someone else's perspective.
I was born on November 29, 2000 so I was about to become one year old when you filmed this. Its strange when you see how life was back then, but because you were young, like me, you can't remember such times. Hope people can relate to that feeling. Anyway, thanks for posting this video. I have been watching your videos and I must say that it's nice to see how life was back then. I look forward to see what other videos you will post in the future about the past!

I had the same exact Sony Xplod car stereo in the early 2000s, that you had in your car. I still remember the graphics on the front display...lol. Sony made some really cool unique looking aftermarket headunits back in the day. 👍

I was 5 months old when this came out. Why does everything seem so ancient and outdated? Did I really live at this very time? I never really felt like all of those things were ancient, but they do now. It has felt like nothing has changed up until now, but when I take a look back, things have drastically changed. This is unreal. I can't fathom that this used to be normal to me. I'm freaked out.

simon I can relate,I remember when I was a kid dad would have a VCR set up and there would be a shelf where they'll be put there and when we get bored I would put the VHS tape inside the VCR and I'll be able to play it for me and my brother to watch, I can also remember when my dad would bring out his camcorder and record us on tape, I seen it as normal and just nice being able to have. And I'm trying to understand why am I starting to get into the past,right now I would like to own a camcorder that still runs 8 mm/high eight/digital eight tapes. Maybe it was just because I was young at the time and I didn't understand how vintage that stuff was,I can also recall having a old computer when I was younger back in 2008 and 2009, and my dad bought the computer in 92. I don't know why that I can just remember so many things to my
childhood that was caught on tape and be able to remember the old flash games that I would play.
Maybe I'm just realizing just how special that those moments (and memories)are,I was young at the time so I never got to hold onto a camcorder or even record my first tape,heck didn't even use a VHS camcorder.
Maybe the reason why that I'm going back to these videos is to see what it was like back then.To understand the life that I never lived, A time that I never knew existed,and I'm starting to realize just how special that it is. I may never be able to live through these times but there were people who were dedicated to keeping it alive they may not realize what they did at the time but little did they know they were preserving history for years to come.

My parents bought that same exact DVD player on the ad at 18:02 back in 2001. It still works to this present day. I know because I still see it being used by my parents when I visit them.
