    First Church of Deliverance in Chicago had this organ for many years. It had 5 rotosonic Leslie's plugged into it and that thing commanded respect. I like this organ.

      Curtis 64 Yeah, man! Search TH-cam for FIrst Church of Deliverance, So Good!!! The version with Uncle Ralph introducing the song features the Elegante you mentioned and you hear the real power of it. It truly was a little known and short-lived king of instruments.

      @@gdj6298 To each his own,of course,but I didn't think the Rotosonic Leslie sounded all that bad. I have a Rodgers 640 organ in my home with built-in speakers,and it sounds really nice,....would be even better if it had external speakers. But I agree,the organ in the video would have been better going through an external Leslie!

    The Hammond Elegante' was an amazing organ from Hammond organ company introduced in the early 1980s. Many advanced features as "Melody Maker", Phil Harmonic Strings", "ProFoot", "ProChord", "Auto-Vari 64 with Touch Tempo", "Fascinating Fingers" auto arpeggiator. This organ sold for $12,000 back then.

    I liked the *KEY CLICK* tab that generates via an analog noise generator circuit, four randomly activated types of "fuzzy puffs of keying-contact switch noise" that you hear when playing the keys on a real tone wheel Hammond organ. On a Hammond Tone Wheel organ, each of the 9 drawbars has it's own switch contact on every key and pedal on the keyboard. So that's 9 contacts per key, and 2 contacts per pedal. All of that switching fortunately has an endearing quality to most players ears. To see a real tone wheel in action watch *Legendary Theatre Organists* beginning at the 40 minute mark. It's a great Paramount film reel from the late 1930's. Even before the Leslie Rotary Speaker was invented.

      We have a 90 year old Hammond model A in our building that has all the effects you mention. Soon we will be offering a vintage BCV that recently arrived 80 plus years old and we expect that to be a truly historic sound when ready to show on TH-cam. These fist edition models preceded the B3 model. The model in this video is the Elegante model and I thought the factory did a great job in the design.

      @@KeyboardExchange When Durthaler Organs in Columbus Ohio, the oldest Lowrey Dealer in the world, went out of business in 2014 I helped them set a price on their Hammond Aeolian model BA, over 100 music rolls, and an early Leslie 31A cabinet with the paper mache horns. I think I said, " Okay, first of all there is a dealer who cons everyone out of their vintage instruments who is going to offer you peanuts. He'll more than likely be here the day of your 'going OOB sale'. DOn't listen to him! This is something that should go to a museum and so if you aren't offered $2,500 AT LEAST, then just don't sell it. " ...
      Fast Forward a week later to day of OOB Sale. I arrive and I don't even look at the Hammond BA, I have my eyes on some other stuff. I had already gotten Wurlitzer Brass Horns in the case that week before. They had actually listed those in an ad. So keep in mind they know how to place ads. I got lots of great deals that day. I even got an NOS Conn organ add-on KEY PERCUSSION/ REPEAT PERC system for my Conn 815 Classic model organ (it's a 1958 810 organ, but with Celeste feature, and the '5' is Limed Oak code, making it an 815 Classic). I got a Wurlitzer SpectraTone cabinet for 10 bucks. Granted everything had low OOB prices. They had for 1oo bux each- clean fully working Hammond H100, E100, White Hammond Concord, a rare Hammond F100 ( for 200), a Conn 643 Theatre..and others I can't remember...
      So the day came to a close, I have some stuff in my van, and as I'm leaving I ask Mrs. D, " So was anyone interested in the Player Hammond BA Aeolian?"
      To which she answered, " Uh' yeah I think that sold. (then yelling to the back to her daughter) " Uh how much we get for the player Hammond?"
      " We got 350."
      I heard her. My heart sank. I would have given them a thousand just for the Leslie 31A. I just walked out half mad and thinking, " Paul, don't EVER help someone price something you can get for a song!".

      We have shipped two instruments to Brazil in this past year. We have learned what we needed to know about the proper wood crates that need to be chemically treated and inspected for same prior to shipping and other connections with the important shipping agents. It all turned out well and now we are prepared and confident in shipping to your country.

    I used to sell Hammond organs during the 1980s, as this was the flag ship model back in the early 1980s, costing up to $12,000 back then. This had all of the cool features, Fascinating Fingers, Touch Tempo, Phil Harmonic Strings, and Melody Maker as well as ProChord. The Auto-Vari was only analog and when the Composer series went to digital Auto-Vari, I do not know why they did not upgrade the Elegante with digital Auto-Vari? This was only analog technology back then, utilizing Multiplex Synthesis technology. Hammond did go digital with the CX and SX series, but later models had the new Auto-Band orchestration. Sadly, Hammond went out of business in 1985 when they were about to introduce the new Lawrence Hammond organ, as it did feature the new digital Auto-Vari, plus the Orchestrator. But this model really is not a church organ, but could be played like a gospel or blues/jazz organ. When Suzuki took over Hammond, there were no more home organ models being developed any more, as they are marketing B-3 clones.

      Patrick,
      I designed this organ and B3000, Colonnade, and the Lawrence Hammond. It was so disappointing it never saw production. The introduction in New Orleans in 1985 was successful but Marmon decided to pull the plug.

    • @KeyboardExchange
      @KeyboardExchange  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most often a Leslie model 740 or 750 has and had been suggested by the factory. There is a direct outlet installed on the organ for this purpose with no need for an additional kit to be installed. We have learned that there are several other models that will also work well. Please contact B3buyer@aol.com if you have an interest in an organ like the one shown as we do have a few in stock at this time but not always. We can even offer with one or TWO external Leslies! THREE Leslies are also possible at this time!
