    Michael The Boat Handy Man! A guy on Salt and Tar Channel is using that goo tape for his entire boat he built from Keel up. Good work on the bow repair, that is pretty crazy that people would do that with boats, I can understand cars but those don't sink!! You guys are doing great work, hang in there and always remember the reason they are call boats. B.ring O.ut A.nother T.housand.

      Haha I try my best, will give anything a go, it’s the only way we’ve been able to afford the upkeep and nobody else will put as much care into it as the owner.
      Will have to check out that salt and tar channel, sounds interesting!
      Pretty disappointing about the hit and run, was a good lesson on repairing and was glad it was a easy fix!
      Thanks for watching!

    • @sailingpopao
      @sailingpopao  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks James! We set our policy up to have a lower premium but a super high excess. If we’re gonna claim insurance it’s gonna have to be some major damage or total loss. With the rego we could have probably put in a claim and they might have tried to get his insurance to pay up but to be honest it just wasn’t worth the stress!

    I know Natalie from s/v Blownaway she actually built for BA foul weather covers for the port lights and hatches, apparently they work perfectly, no issues with leaks and simple to remove and refit.. she used sunbella. But i think you could use clear just as easy.. I believe hers attach with velcro I’m not 100% sure, but you could easily ask her in the group, she’s one of the experts..

    Hi Guys, Love your work.
    Just a quick note about those eBay remotes you installed. I have the same and was anchored up for the night when another cruiser can by and was anchoring nearby. Then my anchor started feeding out. Turns out they had the same frequency on there remote as mine. Maybe installing a cut off switch could solve this incident in future. Just incase you come across the same fait. Keep up the great work, stay safe, Cheers

      I wouldn't be without it though. works really well. just need to remember to turn power supply off. Even if you happen to be cruising past someone with the same remote it could affect your remote. Cheers

    • @sailingpopao
      @sailingpopao  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davenoonan4672 so handy to have, we don’t have a deck wash so use a broom to scrub the mud off the chain sometimes, so much easier with the remote around our neck! We already turn it of straight after but definitely something to make sure of!

  • @BurninatorTheTrogdor
    @BurninatorTheTrogdor 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would open up those remotes and spray it with a water resistant coating. Also don't use the crap batteries that come with it they will leak and corrode everything. Ask me how I know. You also might want to put one of those keychain floats on them. Love the videos!
