My old 1986 ford had a hart start plus the battery was dead so I replaced it then it started to sound like a pace paper in a fan now am off to see if my alternator is bad thank you for your good notes 😁
They sell " Alternator Rebuilt Kit ", it will be easier and cheaper too. Look into it next time and it might save you tons of money especially Alternators. I was able to rebuilt an AC Delco Alternator for $14.00 with free shipping, that's including the Bearings and Bushings + Mics parts... Etc.... :D
Jordan Bronson So I was told when I went to buy the new alternator. The trouble was I only had 30 minutes to do the swap and I had to be on the road. The rebuild kit wasn’t available that day. Next time, I’ll definitely do the rebuild and save the other $150+ for other mods.
+The Minute Masters - Yea, you seems to be more skillful than I for sure. If I was able to do it... ANYONE can :D. I started to do Cars only 2+ years ago. My Dad wouldn't even let me touch his Cars / Trucks... So I played with Lawn Mowers.... One day, he wasn't able to get our Mower going, and it took me less than 5 minutes to do... That is when he said I can touch the " Beat Up " Car, LOL... Needless to say, after a big Re-Vamp... Now it's his favorite Car :((((... It was suppose to be my " Beat Up " Car :(((. I don't have my license yet :(((, so I was waiting for it to be mine. LOL ... But yea, you can save a lot of $$$.... Don't wait until they go bad... Once you hear some noises.... Search for the Kit and wait until it goes bad or when you have time to fix :D.

Another good way too find out if your alternator is bad is to place a screwdriver on the back side of it and if it pulls the screwdriver to it like a magnet it's good....I'm not 100% positive but if the voltage regulator is bad it won't provide current and if the ?reluctor? is bad then it overcharges the voltage system
My alt shit the bed it literally wouldn't start the truck or it would randomly work fine, no tick just pulled a alt from my parts truck and all is well. I'll have to try to listen for it next time lol all these old trucks everywhere. Might be getting a 94 f150 super cab
