I live in a terrace and when my neighbour is in i hate it and want to move, she's like an elephant. I can understand your worries. I find ear plugs help and lovely music. Your positivity is wonderful
I feel you! I absolutely hate noise! :/ They torn the whole street in front of our house apart and the constant noise lasted for about 8 months. Now, they´re almost done but it´s a super loud neighbourhood anyway so we´re moving in january and I. CAN´T. WAIT. to live in the country side again.

Hey Alix! I work for the government (albiet, in Canada) and I would honestly go to your town/city/village council or municipal government and get advice about the local noise bylaws, etc. if your neighbours are not able to be a bit more cooperative and sensitive to your issues. Construction is one thing, but often they will have requirements in the building permits about communicating regularly with neighbours, acceptable hours of work, allowable noise/work scheduling for noisier activities, etc. Worth looking into anyways to make sure they are following the permit accordingly! Additionally, I am not sure how your terraced/row houses work, but in Canada they often have small development councils or subdivision strata groups that can assist with things that are happening within the collective (ie. noise, garbage, etc.). At the end of the day, construction happens but there are still avenues that can be explored and ways of meeting in the middle. It may also be worth temporarily looking into any co-working spaces, especially for editing (maybe not so much for filming) as it can be a nice way to be around people and work in a healthier atmosphere. Hope that helps!

The block next to my apartment has been under construction and noises from drilling, banging, sawing etc. are non-stop Monday to Saturday from 7.30 to 5 . I am not working and staying at home most of the days. It is so frustrating and I couldn’t even nap 😩😩😩 it has been 5 months already and probably still another year to go...
Girl I totally understand your noise pain! We had a new neighbor move in with a super anxious dog, who barks 9-5 when he's at work. I work from home (freelance violinist) so having noise ALL day has been draining me. Luckily we can talk to him or our apartment building, but I so hope the noise stops for you soon!
I felt that way when I lived in a flat with babies upstairs and downstairs! It made me so anxious and panicky. It is quite a big deal! We ended up moving to a semi detached and that was a lot better xx
Feel your pain about the noise. My neighbours have been building a deck for months and it is driving me batty. They seem to only work on it at the times that I want to relax!

I can empathise with the noise issue. I’ve lived with a construction site on one side of me and a 6 week roof repair on the other which turned into an 18 month full house renovation. I’ve also previously lived below a horrendously noisy neighbour. It’s not good. The noise can get to you. It’s totally normal to need your space to be quiet or at least predictable. I also felt very panicked too and it was all to do with feeling a lack of control over my personal home space. I hope it all quietens down for you soon. I don’t think you’re just being overly sensitive. I think a lot of people would be affected by it. Hang in there. Xx
Alix!!! Loving all your videos this month. One thing that I have found has helped me with dealing with any discomfort (noise, trouble sleeping, pain, , anxiousness) is MEDITATION. It has really made such a difference for me (life changing). I would totally recommend it!
I hate noise too tho I just can’t focus on anything over than the noise so when I get a noise disturbance I get proper pissed. I had a neighbour who banged non stop or blared loud music and asked them nicely to keep it down and they told me to get a life. Xx

I'm totally with you, noise is the worst. When my old neighbour died, some guy bought his house and turned it into 4 appartments. It was a year of banging and drilling noises, the walls of my bedroom were vibrating... A couple of years later, it was teenagers who spent a summer playing basketball right in front of my windows. I couldn't wait for the summer holidays to be over (first time that happened lol) Let us know if the noise cancelling headphones work. I've been considering investing in some, but they are so expensive :'( I have the same coat, bought it last year after seeing you wearing it in one of your vlogs. :)

I’m down with the flu and only slept for a few hours, decided to finally get up at 5 AM and just drank a bucket of tea to feel a little more human and a little less hungry! I totally understand Down stairs have literally lived there for more than a year and they are still constantly banging on the walls like seriously what are they doing banging on a wall all day everyday for more than a year like NO it always starts when I want to do school work or something it happened at one till three am once I was so angry I was banging back lmao 😂❤️

I really know how you feel I’m indoors most days (Mum) and for the past 2 years my neighbours have remodelled their whole house, loft & front & back extension it’s going so slowly as he is also doing a lot of it by himself after work weekends too 😫 sometimes he is drilling and banging down walls up till 9pm I listened to this all the way through recovery after two major surgeries last year where I was bedridden for nearly 6 months with all that noise it’s relentless & it really does get you down. I hope it doesn’t last to long for you try to get out as much as you can. Can you film elsewhere? x

Hi Alix, I feel so sorry for you cause it seems that the noise is really bad for your mental health and I totally understand! While I'm sure you already checked all possibilities in your neighbourhood, may I suggest you go to a library in an University? Don't know if you have one around, but they are really quiet and sometimes have very good workspaces. And you don't have to pay for them ;-) Of course you won't be able to produce your videos there, but editing would be possible I guess. I hope you'll find a solution soon! Minced meat and mincemeat are two different things. Minced meat is ground beef you would use in say a bolognese, mincemeat likes mince pie that we would eat at Christmas doesn’t have meat at all its a mix of dried fruit and spice.
Can you adopt me so I can live in England? I can get my own place and everything but I think we could be good friends and I would love to be able to live and work in England it looks so magical
Alix, don't feel bad about complaining about the noise. As a scientist who studies these things, noise pollution is a known stressor in the research world. Maybe get ear plugs?
