They slowed down the game to SF6 with footsies and tons of counter hits, which is perfect. But the game doesn't have silly mechanics like drive impact, drive rush and no throw loops! Just pure footsies and execution, which is perfect.
My pockets can't take much more of this. First Marvel vs Capcom 2 is gonna be in the next capcom fighting collection, then CVS 2 is coming back and now this.
I like joe protege but they gon have to make her a lil bit stronger, fireball recovery faster,make the fireball go faster, amd her crouching strong punch a bit faster. Evey time i see a video with hershes receiving more damage than shes didhing out
If you played Garou MOTW, SPG takes the place of TOP. If you're not familiar with that, SPG gives a player certain benefits while in that portion of your health bar. Benefits include: Slow health Regen up to the upper end of SPG (you won't naturally heal yourself out of SPG). Special actions build less rev meter (more EX moves to play with before overheating) Access to REV blows (attacks with guard point that are (so far) safe on block and have both grounded and air variations). Access to hidden gear super (empties out rev gauge on successful hit) There may be something else I'm forgetting but SPG basically boosts your character.
Quick rematch and load speed always makes for nice quality of life experiences in modern fighters. Love the vibrant aesthetic. Sound direction and ost could be improved imo. Im Still a bit hesitant on gameplay. Its just seems pretty cookie cutter aside from just defend in the air. There are many solid fighting games on the market and the small fgc player base is fragmented as is. What makes this game worth buying aside from the fatal fury love?
In what way is the gameplay "cookie cutter"? What are you comparing it to? As for the appeal of this particular game, it's a sequel to a long dormant but well-loved fighter. It's also SNK's answer to SF6. So if you didn't like/play MOTW and don't like SF6 then this probably isn't for you.
Game seems like it's one of those " fun to play/ boring to watch" games. MOTW was very technical at high level and this "seems" to carry that forward. I just fear poor sales in a saturated market. What do you think of the gameplay?

But regardless, COTW is a LOT more exciting to watch than MOTW, thanks to the Rev Gauge and the Rev combos. I've been playing a lot of MOTW recently just to refresh myself (haven't played it t any real extent in 24 years). I am not even remotely at a high level and I'm playing a character who is not only bad but really doesn't seem to be designed properly for the systems (Tizoc). The game is fun, albeit weird, with the weirdly heavy block stun and abundance of safe moves that don't feel like they should be safe. I obviously can't speak about COTW since I haven't played it, but at least watching it, it seems to be more "normal" with the way the characters interact with each other. But the SF6 influence is heavy with the explosive damage. We'll see how things shake out (hoping for a demo). You can never tell with sales. But the one thing was long holding SNK back in the modern fighter era - their visuals - has been addressed. If they throw in a robust single player mode and have decent rollback netcode (crossplay is a must as well IMO), it definitely has the potential to be SNK's break out hit the way _Guilty Gear Strive_ was for Arc System Works.
Where's Joe Higashi & Andy Bogard? What about some old school characters like Jubie Yamada, Raiden/BigBear, Cheng Sinzan, Axel Hawk or maybe Duck King? Other than Tizoc, I'm not digging the roster.

The colorful , vibrant colors of this art style reminds me of SxT and SF IV.

Hops aren't as fast in this game compared to KOF, but the shorter jumps you see are definitely hops.

If you have a FG basic experience then it's easy to pick up. But it's not so easy to be decent at it.
