If I were in my 20s, I would probably like this ship. I'm not opposed to big ships, but this one feels more like a Mall of America of the Seas than a cruise ship. The Carnival Excel class has a more elegant, sea focused design while still providing tons to do. Definitely not sold on the RCCL super mega ships. Great video as always though...

Great tour!! I felt like I was on a cruise. Royal Caribbean did a great job of breaking up the area with small and varying areas. It would not be boring like many ships are.
This is a very good tour of the ship and super helpful as we have an Icon cruise booked next year in March. One suggestion though; let people get off the elevator before getting on. It's rude to push past people getting off because you're in a hurry to get on

Rating a 20 y/o ship with the brand new Icon ship - really? A 20 y/o car vs a new car today, no comparison! Same goes for ships, there’s only so much can be done to update an older ship. Have fun on your cruise ⚓️
Great tour. I’d really like to see a full tour at passenger capacity. How long are lines, does it seem crowded. Not by review but in full view. How long to get off ship in ports like St Thomas etc. your ship tour is great. Still want to see full capacity tour.

Myself, I prefer a traditional use of the space onboard cruise ships. Of course there's elements I like on this ship ... that mega atrium up front is great. However, give me well executed, well staffed ... more traditional platforms.

Y'all did a wonderful job. Personally, I probably will never go on the ship. It's much too big and has too many things for my liking. It's not the kind of cruise experience that I look for, but it is a beautiful ship!!
It’s a beautiful venue, with lot’s of food options, plenty of activities to do etc. The only thing I’m thinking is where is the sea? Why go to a super resort on the sea, and never see, hear or smell the ocean? Obviously not for me, but then again I could never afford it either 😅
Upon hearing that Icon cost $2 billion to build, I thought, "That's ridiculous! How can a ship possibly cost that much?!" After seeing your tour, I'm like, "Yup, worth every penny."
So what are those round white spheres on the upper deck that I see on every ship? 4:01 They look like water towers but they're clearly not large enough for the entire ship. Maybe radar?
I think this ship class really needed some sort of standout feature(s) that sets it apart besides its size. If you ask what's special about it, the only thing you get back is citing numbers like it's got so many thousand passengers, so many tons and decks, all the restaurants, lots of swimming pools! It just seems like it's a "by the numbers" ship to the benefit of the cruise line's financials without any innovation or creativity, like we just took the RCL staples and just scaled them up by 2x.
WOW, looks Fabulous! So colorful. My only issue that I noticed, is that the walkways appear to be very narrow🤔 Also, seating is spacious but seems limited, which might be difficult to get during peak times. Like Kellie pointed out a few times... yes, lots of shaded options. Michele loves the shade 😎. MDR looks very nice. Great job! We've enjoyed watching ❤
Wonderfully detailed tour -- but I must say -- as I suspected -- YUK Not for me. These big cruise ships are becoming everything I hate about the new trend in cruise ships I have always liked cruising as a way to ESCAPE civilization and relax, disconnect and visit ports of call. But rather than escape civilization , these new mega ships are bringing society with you --shopping, amusement park vibe, large crowds and people and loud music party atmosphere almost everywhere .... HELL, If I want all that I can just stay at home. I noted in this tour it was almost never simply quiet anyplace you walked --- the whole feel was like going to Universal Studios on the water. Nope - don't like it at all. I can honestly say I would not spend 7 days on that ship if you gave me a free ticket -- I would be irritated and annoyed the whole time and ready to kill people from the looks of it. Give me the small, quiet, classic Emerald or Caribbean Princess type cruise experience anytime over this "Theme Park and Las Vegas on the Seas"
Although I mostly agree with what your saying , you'd also have to realize that your out as sea for 5-7 days and it's gonna get boring when your on a ship so it's understandable why the cruising industry is changing and with the ever increasing ship tonnage and more passengers they'll have to have something for everyone on board and bringing most of the stuff you could do on land but on a ship this time and traveling to vacationing destinations is nice thing but the prices are out of hand these days
@@Isaac-muntz In our own case an added reason we may not care as much about the big activity filled ships is we already live in Florida.....so a pool in the backyard....a beach 30 minutes away.....a 400 store indoor mall 20 minutes away and Orlando theme parks 2 hours away is part of everyday life. So all the stuff on the big party cruise ships is just like everyday life here where we are. Thus getting away from all this is actually a different enjoyment for us. It might be a totally different feeling for example with some family who lives in Canada or Detroit or Chicago where all the mega cruise ship stuff is so different from their daily life and surroundings and a thus a big " has everything you could dream of" monster ship is the big expensive family vacation trip of the year. I could see where folks in this latter category would feel different -- they are trying to experiences what we have surrounding us all the time and are trying to get away from for a few days. Thus our preference for a quiet empty ship where SCUBA divng at various ports of call is the highlight and the rest of time on ship is being unplugged and away from all the razzle dazzle for a change. Heck we rarely do shows -- and avoid the public pools and parties like a plague when we cruise HA
What a nightmare. Why would anyone waste a penny on this. All of you TAs pretending that this is great. While on a boat that was only half full. Paying $200 for premade food. Anyone who thinks that food on this ship isn't garbage is kidding themselves. premade, frozen, microwaved for the 7000 on boardm

I don’t know that I like how closed off all of it is. I like to know I’m on a cruise and look over and see the ocean through windows or the balcony.
