I like your whatsisface usually watch them when I’m drawling and need inspiration or if I’m bored.
I imagine RainWings kind of like Dilophosaurus's. I draw them with a really big ruff all around their head, and I imagine that they would spread that out and shake it well spitting their venom like a Dilophosaurus. I headcannon that they might make it change colour when they do that as well.

Yeah the claws and horns make sense in the way your describing it. I'm guessing claws and horns are made of ceratin, (the thing human nails are made of) with a thin layer of skin over the ceratin where small scales can fit in.

Human nails are made of a thing called caratin (Idk how to spell it and prob got it wrong)
what about the eyes? can they also change color?
@@infinitepossibilities2862 no it says that in the books but they are able to close they’re eyes to be completely camouflaged also only if you’re facing a direction where that rain wings eyes are visible does it matter

You mentioned in the video how you often change your stile, and I think that really adds a uniqueness to your art! I genuinely love watching your artwork grow, change and evolve! You don’t restrict yourself to a particular “art stile” and are always experimenting with different techniques and ideas, letting yourself try new things! I believe this is what makes you such a talented and inspirational artist.

Rainwings are my favorite! I think it's because they can change their scale colors either through emotion or by will, and their powers are pretty neat and unique compared to the other tribes.
The only thing that I struggle with Rainwings is what their preferred color scheme could be (example: I have a Rainwing OC who prefers to have indigo as her base color with golds, pinks and lighter shades of blue); another is when creating Rainwing hybrids (especially Rainwing/Skywing hybrids! Their scale patterns are so similar, it's hard to find a middle ground)

Speaking of (lack of) wing-fingers: I used to get frustrated really easily when drawing dragons because I just Could Not make the wings look right no matter what, but then I saw your videos (your art style(s) are so cuteeeeee!) and that kinda made me realize I didn't have to make everything anatomically-correct! Now I can actually have fun with drawing my oodles of WoF ocs!

I was actually talking to my sister about it a couple days ago, and she was certain it was a plothole, but I like this headcanon much more.
I'm also trying to make a sona for my channel- because I'm t r y i n g to start my channel up, but I'd like a sona, and all of my characters are NOTHING like me. And I took a tOn of personality tests to find out what tribe I'd be- and I got

-Or RainWing.
And I'm just an undesisive mess, so I'm thinking of making two sonas? Maybe? IDK xDD

I really like the scaled horn Headcanon. I've always had a Headcanon that rainwings have a third eyelid that they can see through, but can't be seen through by other dragons (like car window decorations) that can also change color so they can be invisible without their eyes showing.

I've always just kinda thought that rainwing horns had some kind of weird cells in them that allowed them to change lol. Lookin back it doesn't make a whoooole lot of sense but hey, we're talkin about a world with fire breathing dragons, ice breathing dragons, magical death spit dragons, fire scales, magic, and an evil audrey 2 wannabe plant...God I love Wings of fire XD.
My personal headcannon is that rainwings can just change the color of their.... everything? Including horns/claws, inside of mouth, ear insides, eyes/eye whites, etc. It makes for some.... interesting character designs on my part

I was on google looking for sketches to use of rainwings so i can see the shapes but more cute then the pics in the books and rhis is one that popped up and i had no idea it was you that drew it XD

I think it’s really funny that the other tribes once thought of them “useless and lazy” when in actuality with the right motivation they could tear off other dragons’ faces with little to no effort.

My cannon for the rainwing horns and claws would be that I think they have like a mutation in the cartilage or whatever that makes up their horns and claws that allow them to make them transparent.

My mom is from Texas and my moms side of our family lives there so we visit sometimes I’ve pet a long horn before also beevo:)
When talking about the claws and horns being possibly covered in scales, to be invisible, what about the eyes? They would be adapted to have eyes open for scouting while invisible, so I thin there is a thin membrane under the eyelid, but over the eyeball that has similar properties
Yeah, that's how I headcanon their horns and claws too. Basically horns, with a very very thin lair of scales on them that aren't really visible or different in texture to a normal horn, but change color the same way. I also headcanon with some weird eye thing where it changes color (I've heard of it before not sure what the word is...) And then they just have extra big irises. XD
